City ordinances are BS A horn can drown out my amp My amp can be turned down It should be a decibel level ordinance not an amplification ordinance I can’t loop my bass, beats and harmonies with out battery inverter and and AMPLIFIER
As a Central Park busker myself I can say there certainly are female buskers. Not as many as the men but they are there. The money estimations discussed in this video are inflated. Bands and sax players make a lot, but solo musicians are not taking home that kind of money.
One factor is on guitar, well, there are tons of guitars. You need to be either really good, or you're using a guitar to back up a good and charismatic singing voice. Saxes get credit because they sound good and bold, being between a wind and a brass instrument. I'm guessing trumpeters do even better if they're good, and a brass band of 3-4 pieces could really clean up. Busking is a decent side gig. It rains, you're out. It's winter, you're probably out unless you can deal with the cold. And at most you can only play for at most 4 hours a day and more realistic is two.
I love that there’s no permit needed. Anyone can just go put music out into one of the most beautiful places in the world. Wonderful.
I loved this. Entertaining, but very informative!
Martin is definetly a quality music person!
Passion and expression are priceless :)
Cool, thanks for sharing.
Martin, I hear you are a quality musician indeed, you are also part Irish?
💖👏
And now we have fake buskers !... Don't you feel dumb giving money to fake violin players when there are SUCH incredible real musicians out there ?!
What's the name of the singer singing at 2:09
I met him in New Orleans and am trying to remember what I saved his number under
The NYPD ought to crack down on buskers who perform after midnight.
