Good evening, wondering if you could do a tutorial on creating a cut fill in sheetcam or fusion 360 and imported into Lennox CNC. I seem to be struggling with this, even with the Lennox post processing. Thanks Rob
I mean, I kinda like it. Hahahah. But I'm a programmer, so the commandline is my ideal interface. I don't even have a desktop environment installed on my primary laptop. The Tormach PathPilot UI is a spruced up Glade interface, and it looks pretty nice. For pre-made open-source ones, I've heard of probe_basic for mills and plasmac for plasma cutters - just haven't dug into them yet myself, since I've got enough to do and am happy with my 1990's interface. I think RUclipsr AskJerry also has some videos on working with Glade if you want to make your own UI. Hope that at least gives you some points to start researching from.
@@swolebro I am also a developer and I have a wm (dwm) just because I develop web apps but I use mostly the command line too. It's not a big deal creating another interface probably but I'm not a designer, I have a good eye for well designed but I'm awful at designing.. my comment was more about, there are awesome pieces of software in the Linux world but they mostly look bad, would be cool if for once a well designed UI was not automatically assigned the lowest possible priority..
@@IvanGreguricOrtolan Well, I think you described the problem here perfectly. Here we've got two developers, both willing to contribute to open source, but neither knows jack about designing user interfaces! Hahah. Hopefully this whole series makes LinuxCNC approachable enough that somebody with more of a knack for UI's than code can step in and save us from ourselves. If I ever get around to using Glade, at least I'll make a video breaking it down and publish whatever configs I come up with. Also, dwm is my choice as well. Big fan of the suckless.org stuff.
I think I better spend the $ US 175.00 the Mach3 will cost me, than spend endless time on get in to all that terminal mucking around, i am sorry to say it, because I am a thru LINUX man.
Oh, it's too difficult to understand your video content. Can you explain it simpler and slower! Your sound level is low, my earphones can't hear it well.
Do you have any specific questions? Have you worked through the earlier videos in my LinuxCNC playlist? ruclips.net/p/PL9xPdBFt5g3Qnn3ZY2wYh7L2yzZ377UwI) I'd also recommend Russtuff's LinuxCNC playlist, which might be a bit easier to get into. ruclips.net/p/PLv4P26_5EBiyorZkSAUl897p1ISxzE3Xk For the audio, I record it on a lav mic and then normalize it with EBU R128 (a radio industry standard). I agree that the default settings are a little bit quiet - in my most recent videos, I have turned up the gain a bit. Unfortunately, RUclips doesn't let me go back and do that for the old stuff.
Again, thanks for doing this it really pushes me forward much faster than if I figure it out all myself
you're a hero!

Thanks! Difficult. I do not know English, but I will translate carefully to sort out the issue. It is interesting.
It's really a pity than no UI designer likes linux so we end up always with applications looking like this :/

It's way easier than you think. Stay away from Mach.
