Хороший инглиш как для разработчика) Правильно ли я понял, получается, если есть просто package.json - то при использовании комманды npm install устанавливаются все зависимости, указанные в данном файле и если версия одного из компонентов обновилась, то она же и установится. А если присутствует файл package-lock.json, то будет установленна именно конкретная версия компонента, даже если уже миллион обновлений вышло? Lock как бы блокирует обновление версии компонента, я правильно понял?
Привет. Это видео записано 2 года назад. Сейчас с английским намного лучше :) да. Ты все правильно описал. При наличии лок файла берутся версии из него. Если нужно обновить пакеты то можно использовать npm update или удалить лок файл и потом npm install.

You can, but you can't change the ^ symbol that could be present in the package.json of the dependencies of dependencies... (the whole tree)
