I've been fascinated with dude since I first found out who he was back in 1986, when he was producing Dynasty, then The Whispers and Pebbles (`87) and Sheena Easton (`88). Then I discovered The Deele, and Karyn White, and it was all over... lol... he's been an idol of mine from Day One, trust me. I love this man.
I always wanted to be a producer, and 'Face was my idol, in so many artistic and personal ways. I loved how he was so successful and immensely talented, yet humble and down to earth. This was a guy who just flat-out loved music, and loved creating it, and there was no guile, no sophistry, or arrogance, or bullshit. HE. WAS. REAL. Pure and simple. The music business DOES NOT produce guys like this, ever. But this one time, it did. I wish to God I could have worked with him in some capacity (I made my way to Atlanta in the mid-`90s hoping to break into the biz, and hopefully work with 'Face), but it didn't work out that way. C'est la vie..
