"Devotions from Israel”-Ezekiel 47

The Dead Sea is the lowest place on earth. At almost 1,400 feet below sea level, this unique body of water consists of over 30% salt and minerals. When you go into it, your body floats effortlessly, making for a pleasant experience! However, the prophet Ezekiel remarkably envisioned that one day the Dead Sea will become a fresh-water lake!
How this will happen relates to a river that will one day flow from Jerusalem in association with the building of the Temple? The river will flow eastward, bringing a transformation to the Dead Sea. Ezekiel 47 says that fisherman will cast their nets for fish that will now live in this renewed water. Equally important to ask is when this will take place? We take assurance in the fact that only God knows. We simply trust in God’s sovereign timing and control. In the meantime, we allow the river of His grace and goodness to flow into our life, renewing and encouraging us daily to serve Him!
