- This episode is what I call a "do-over" . . . a story that was previously done on Suspense. It's been given a new title and has had the script slightly re-worked. In this case it aired four years earlier under the title "Neal Cream, doctor of Poison. The original version featured Charles Laughton, and can be found in his playlist on this channel.
Over the course of it's 20 year run, well over a hundred broadcasts were do-overs. I try to limit the number of these do-overs so you don't have to listen to a story you've already heard (I'm always looking out for my subscribers) BTW: This episode is based on a true story, and also the sound quality is very good.

✓✓✓√√✓✓√√√✓√✓ STUFF . . . . and such:
All you need to know about JOSEPH KEARNS: He was the "go to guy" whenever the director of Suspense needed a voice actor. KEARNS showed up in hundreds of episodes, doing parts big and small. I'm not aware of anyone who's actually counted the number of episodes he appeared in, but I'm pretty sure it's well over 300. Kearns shows up in quite a few Escape episodes, too, plus he appeared in many other classic radio series on CBS. Later in his career he moved to television where he became Mr. Wilson, the object of affection for Dennis the Menace. Unfortunately, at the age of 55 Kearns stroked out and was replaced by Gale Gordon.
• By golly, every gosh darned episode of Suspense can be found in the public domain. •
• 2017-2020 from Charlie Stuckey by golly, and he's this channel's gosh darned creator •
Thank you as always!!!! SUCH great sound, wow....so often it's a struggle to hear these episodes~! 💖
You're welcome, as always! You need to check out my Suspense best sound quality playlist
When I was a kid my brother used to play these to help me sleep. Thanks for taking the time to upload these.
Pure nostalgia
You're welcome! I still listen to these every night.
Dude just found your Chanel I’m starting with “ the time machine “
But left the comment here because I figured you would read it quicker....great Chanel...subbed
Thanks, that's great! The sci-fi episodes are my most popular uploads. I check my comments pretty much every day - so feel free to comment anytime - BTW: Always read the descriptions for every episode!
Yeah it is a great channel isn't it!! These old shows are superb.
I listened to the Charles Laughton edition of this story, and I must say I am surprised how good this episode is with Joseph Kearns as well.
That's why I posted this version (I usually don't upload repeated stories)
Thank you Charlie !
You are, of course, welcome!
Good evening beautiful people across the world. Sending you all happy thoughts🙏🌹 love fatty🐈and myself💃. 23/05/2022 UK @ 22.15pm
Charlie once again thank you for this and the information provided. Your a genius! Regards to you and your family🙏💐
Glad to see you back.
Good episode - thanks!
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. This story was also done by Charles Laughton under a different title: "Neal Cream, Doctor of Poison." It's in my Charles Laughton playlist.
The doctor is one of the most evil Suspense characters. Love him😊
I'm afraid Charles Laughton owns this role. "Mr Wilson" was better than I expected, but it was impossible not to compare. 🤔
I agree, totally. That's why I try not to upload duplicates (like seven versions of Sorry, Wrong Number) How about a phone visit? Lemme know when
Well . . . I just made a ten dollar phone call to my local computer geek. They helped me open my RUclips app. I lost most of my comments and my settings were wiped out, but here we are!
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered Good job! 😃
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered We have company this weekend...Danny my stepson and my brother Brandon is meeting up with us on his way back from a wrestling gig in Detroit. But I will definitely let you know. Maybe early next week will work?
@@violetfemme411 Okay, that'll work! BTW Detroit is close to my neighborhood - only 110 miles from my house - have a good weekend!
It was obvious it couldnt be the student because he would not have had access to poisons, or been capable of having written an extensive paper on the subject, not only that, his attendance would have been accorded for - I wonder why the daughter of the landlady was so harsh wth the doctor, asking how much longer he would be staying, maybe he pissed them off on the side?
where did they find their overly british people from hahaha
Well, Hello Mr. Wilson!
Charlie I am not sure what you are going through. However I am sending prayers. I listen everyday, sincerely Mandy aka MzMantiz
I'm frustrated, worried and lonely . . . All from a bizzare trip and fall when my wife (and best friend) fractured her leg on June 6. It required surgery to repair. My birthday, our anniversary, and her birthday we are spending apart, as the Michigan governor won't allow patients in hospitals to have any visitors. We talk on the phone several times a day. Thanks for your kind thoughts, Mandy - Charlie
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered That is just awful. My sincere hope you can soon be together.
Good evening!
. . . and a good evening to you, too
Mr. Wilson...!
Great episode and the poisoner is an absolute shit and the fact that he's based on real events is awful, I wonder if it was Dr. Crippen?
I would recognize his voice anywhere
