So, to be 100% clear, if the boat goes backwards when you move the control level to 'forward' then you HAVE to swap the propeller for one with the other handedness; you can't fix it by rotating the pump 180 degrees..
10-18-000-005 AS17-72C 1.91 1977s 10-18-000-005 AS17-72C 1.91 Stamped as R 10-18-000-005 AS17-72C 1.88 1980s 10-18-000-105 AS17-72C 1.88 Stamped as R So, Basically I have 2 Left hand Transmissions 1.88 & 1.91 (outta four) were pump changed to run Backwards and I have Zero 1.88 or 1.91:1 Actual Right hand turning left hand input Transmissions and Four Left and right hand turning 454s. Damn!
@HaleMarine Ok, confirmed I have two AS17-72C 1.91:1 Transmissions which came outta one boat, one is stamped (AS17-72C)R 1.91:1 AND this same transmission was bolted to a Defunct opposite turning engine (I know this because, I ran it in My boat with a good opposite turning engine and the "R" Transmission turned the other way). Not confirmed but, I did turn the AS17-72C by hand and the result was also turned the other way (or it dragged the reverse gear). So, to fix this, I installed a normal turning 454 on the Starboard side bolted to the AS17-72CR and now I see I need to index the pump and delete the "R". Next: I wanna use both the AS17-72C 1.91:1 Transmissions Port side has a Normal turning 454 AS17-72C 1:52 temporarily (Actually, Not a 1:88), Can I change the (AS17-72C) 1.91:1 to not turn opposite? Thanx for all you do!
But wait?? i dont understand? If i change the fluid direction and set the lever in reverse would it coock the tranny?? I need tho change direktion in one of my drives..
@@halemarine5991 Sorry my mistake.. now i understand.. its for the "Engine" rotation".. Thought it was forthe lever position... So my simple question is.. can you use this tranny to move boat forward but with lever in rev? I have a 10-05 drive
Awesome video thanks for info!

Correct. Pump setting must match engine rotation.

1.88 and 1.91 give opposite of input.....left input equals right hand propeller

REalize that in the end of the vid you make this clear.. so in other words i need a new tranny :(
Can a 20 01 004 with 2.040:1 be reversed as well?
No this transmission works only on Automotive LEFT hand engines. It will operate a right hand or left hand propeller
