These guys became so much more focused as a band when they dropped down to being a trio. There was just too many vocalists and ideas floating around as a quintet. Less members and a more refined sound seriously improved Dying Fetus.
To be fair, I originally thought it was "As I Iay Dying" when I heard it on South Park and had to investigate. I feel like I let myself down as a metal fan for not having heard of this band.
dying fetus is currently one of the best band you can have around, this song proves it, a perfect combination of technique and brutality. In my opinion this band has made so much progression since it's early days and now they are playing at their best
I remember when i was in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. I was looking for the place which Dying Fetus would play. I asked two guys if they were also going to the show. They responded with: euhm.. we are Dying Fetus.. but where is the coffeeshop?
@@turdferguson810 Yeah, Korn is literally one of the biggest names of Nu Metal. Contacting Korn for some Nu Metal is like contacting a member of the Big 4 to get a thrash metal song on a show. Dying Fetus, although a very popular active (and "proactive") death metal band, will probably be found on the "second line", when searching up death metal, after Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Death, Suffocation, Obituary, Deicide etc.
I believe it's because it's a type of talent that resides in an art form that many find "unlistenable". Smaller populous, less deserved recognition unfortunately. It's a damn shame. Such a diverse genre of music really. Elitism in the fan base kind of ruins outside perspectives as well.
@@jakelamont6205 Elitism also keeps the music pure. If too many people liked death metal, it wouldn't be death metal. It's one of the only genre's of music that takes buckets of talent to do right, and the people doing it know they will never get rich doing it, which means the music comes from the heart.
I remember, back in 2015/2016, whenever I went to go spend the night at my Grandma’s house, I would always turn on her tv (she was the only one in my family who had Xfinity cable), I would go on the on-demand streaming service Havoc, and watch this music video. That’s how I got into Dying Fetus is through this video.
Bizket Butt “The breakdown is characterized by a beat much slower than the main verses and chorus of a song, the primary ingredients being a steady beat from the drums (with lots of cymbal and sometimes double-bass) and a chugging rhythm from the guitar. “ Yep Thats litterally exactly what I just heard. Death Metal and DeathCore both have breakdowns Dude. There’s no reason to correct him when you can litterally just google it and your proven wrong.
Billy Lee yep except deathcore is really just a breakdown but the whole song lol. It’s a bit too slow for me. I tried to get into it and kinda liked it for a while but death metal is better there is more going on.
What a beast of a band, I thought only Nile could release songs like that but these guys are an explosion of energy, brutality and ruthless strength. Gallager with that voice and his riffs, I have not seen a bassist who accompanies the solos like Sean does, the drums with that complex rhythm. Some damn Death Metal monsters. I so regret not having listened to them sooner.
Admittedly, I sometimes hate when things I like that isn't mainstream suddenly is given new popularity, but since it's South Park fans flooding this video, I can definitely forgive it this time.
It won't mainstream them... I don't think Death Metal will ever go mainstream. This just adds to the army of fans and people discovering that "hey this shit rocks! Who is this!?!" In no time they'll be looking into Job for a Cowboy and other bands as well.
Not sure how I haven't seen this in SEVEN YEARS....some cool riffs in there and John's tone is amazing as usual Great FX with the skin peeling and the demon, beautiful job guys
this is perfect workout music. just when you lose focus, an intense blast beat or breakdown completely changes the pace and wakes you up and makes you finish strong

in resume, they got less technical and more pure brutal death metal

John Gallagher is a guitar god. Such heavy riffs, been killing it for years. He wouldn't be much with out his mates, but still...those sweeps.
ActionJacksonBMX Of course. He's got another cousin from UK, Noel Gallagher. Also a guitar god. 😂😂😂😂
