As a person of faith and an openly queer catholic teacher, one of the things I emphasize to my students is that the Bible itself says love is patient and kind, not harsh and neglectful. That Jesus himself talks about the Samaritan as the good example in the story, not the very faithful priest keeping every sight of possible sin away from him. There is nothing kind, loving or christian about cutting people out of our lives because we personally don't agree with or understand the choices they made. But these people seem so certain, so righteous and they talk about loving us and therefore hurting us to our face so convincingly, it's difficult to remember that they are the ones causing us pain, and not the other way around.
I"ve loved following your journey and the way your music expresses so much of this. You are the type of queer representative I would have loved to know when I was young.
