Three good sessions equals one excellent video. Thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I caught a 23lb cod off Dungeness once..........and then I woke up! Eagerly awaiting your next video from The Crouch. Keep safe and keep healthy. Cheers. Ken
Thanks again Ken - might be a while before the Crouch vid is ready. In the meantime I'll put out the Galloways one which got deleted by mistake in Sept - it links nicely to this one. I'm sure there's some that might not have watched it and may get us looking forward to better days in the summer - well that's my pitiful excuse anyway!
I know many people would consider fish like whiting, pouting & doggies less desirable species to catch (I don't) but you can only catch what's in front of you, I can't remember the last time I caught over 50 fish in one session in Essex like you did in that last session, I do like to stay local but after watching that I may have to venture out over the Dartford crossing & pay Dungeness a visit later this year, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching and commenting Paul. Agree - no point in fishing for what's not in front of you! Making judgement calls is part of the experience and there are many constraints - more so at present. Hope you can fish Dungeness soon.
Well done. Never seen so many fish. Tight lines for New Year.! Ppreciate all the time and effort that you put in to get such professional ,entertaining videos that are free to us all .TA!
Thanks Rod great video ,your right January is the best time for Dabs at Dungie although the last few winters havent been great. we wont get the chance to find out this winter as dungeness estate is closed so sad .I am 55 and have fished there since a small boy hardly missing a week autumn and winter had some fantastic catches over the years really upset that i cant go at the moment but not on my own.
Very true Gary, in all respects. Missed the best part of the plaice season on the south coast in 2020 - now missing the best part of the dab and flounder season, at the venues I fish for them, in 2021!
Hi rods, another cracking video mate.. Informative as always.. I look forward to your videos always enjoy them... Keep safe mick take care thumbs up mate 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Katrina - when there's plenty of action, it can be exhausting, particularly if you've had to carry a ton of gear for quite a distance over shingle.
Great video ! I was tired even watching you fish over a few sessions. Loads of fish and using different set ups, showing versatility is the key t o being successful. Being a bit visually challenged like yourself, I hate fishing in the rain or fine spray. Can never seem to get my glasses properly cleaned . Would never think of stopping fishing to clean them tho ?
Many thanks Mike. Yes - wearing glasses can be a pain! I've tried contact lenses, but never got on with them - many a time I just couldn't get them out and ended up with bloodshot eyes!
Great video, shame you didn't manage any dabs in the second and third sessions. I always look forward to your videos. Keep them coming. Tight lines and stay safe
Let's hope so. Everything goes round in cycles - may have to wait some time though. I understand that the odd one gets caught now and again, but its either through pot luck or a major concerted effort; you can't just turn up on what you think is a good tide and ideal conditions, and expect to catch one, like you used to. Those that night fish may have a different perspective though. Many thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video full of excellent content. I watch your videos regularly and always find your calm and relaxed approach wonderful. I did want to ask which rod you use ,as I was thinking of buying one ,as I'm not the greatest caster. Thanks and kind regards James.

Great video Rod
Thanks again Mark👍
Really good vid mate. Nicely narrated. Reminds me why I gave up though. Hardly ever anything decent out there
Fair enough! Thanks for watching though!
I agree with the comment on the exercise bit, fishing the higher North Sea marks is like going into battle.
Thanks Katrina - when there's plenty of action, it can be exhausting, particularly if you've had to carry a ton of gear for quite a distance over shingle.
love watching your videos, great angler, its like watching Jack Hargreaves when I was a youngster. maybe I will see you down there one day
Many thanks Brian.
Ohhhh yes, in from work and a upload from the man come on 👌🎣
Hope you enjoyed it Lee! I wish I had your enthusiasm - you need to bottle it and I need to be on it!

Thanks Andy - looks like another long wait the for next chance to properly catch dabs!
Yeah. Hayho your videos are always good watch.
Do you think the codling will ever come back, or we had it.
Let's hope so. Everything goes round in cycles - may have to wait some time though. More codling in the Thames than Dungeness last 6 years or so and both are a shadow of their former selves.
Great channel mate have subbed
Much appreciated.
Well done rod,do you have any knowledge of Winchelsea?
Thanks - have yet to go there myself; but I understand its a bait digging / pumping area, so must be worth a visit. Thanks for watching.
Thanks rod great videos

Thanks for your kind words James. I currently favour the Colmic 07 Superior - not cheap mind.
@@rodsangleuk6283 , thank you much appreciated 👍.
nice one mate ✔✔✔✔✔✔
Thanks Graham.
Great video, I used to catch so many "dogs" no matter where I fished
Thanks Richard - yes there are plenty around Dungie, but at least they give reasonable sport trying to pull back.
Brilliant
Thanks for that and for watching.
Bet you wish you could have had that kit back in the 60s when Dungie was a cod mecca...
You are spot on! They'll be back one day.
😁👍🍀🎣🐟
Thanks!
Do you have a Sherpa for your luggage ? Only joking !
All offers considered!
