I was a backer of what I believe is their original design on Kickstarter, and used it for about a year or so. Moved on to a Trayvax Contour and have been using that for about a year now, and love it. For those in any form of law enforcement, this wallet and shield/badge holder option is great to limit the number of bulky items to carry as you can carry all of your IDs and shield together, and display it when needed. I think I may be picking up one of these soon. Great review!
Ive had the first dango wallet since they first launched from kickstarter, and I LOVE IT!!! i will never use another wallet again. I recently upgraded the leather to the foldable canvas type material and i also love it, it was easy to install and it makes it even better. Im thinking of buying another one just to have it, as well as the multi tool. Love the wallet!! My only complaint is the wallets are pretty pricey but i look at it like this, it will be the last wallet ill ever buy. I think ive had it 3 or 4 years now and it still looks brand new.
I'd be curious to know if the multitool is TSA approved to take on a flight. Also are you carrying this in your front pocket as many of these minimalist wallet manufacturers recommend?
Dude excellent review! Incredibly informative and thorough! I totally thought for a sec that you were going to pop a bottle at one point. Thanks for what you do and take it easy brother!
What I found: #1 - it doesn’t have a good place for pics or “spare keys”. #2 - the rubber inside bend the cards in the fabric slots (and those are very tight, even for one card). #3 - I should drop the SS MT for a good key card. #4 - the aluminum main frame is good, but I think an impact resistant plastic w/aluminum borders (for the screws) will perform best for it. And #5 - the price (yes, is expensive). Overall it is sturdy, neat and cool, so I’m getting use to it.
How's the wallet holding up? Any stretching or loosening where the latch/tool latches shut? I'm trying to decide between this bifold or the single pocket.
Still holding up very well. Breaking in nicely. The DLC coating wears slightly where it rubs against keys etc. in the pockets. Personally I think the bifold is the way to go if you have a decent amount of things in you pockets.
Biggest feature for me is dual id one for dl one for ccw permit. Wallet should last a life time. Tool is nice to have on emergency If you dont have a knife or multitool on your person. But it does seem pretty pricey
I own the T02 bifold. I keep my credit cards inside the metal compartment because it provides rfid protection. I.D and miscellaneous cards I keep in the leather bifold.
Thank you greatly for the review of the M1 wallet. Your review was exactly what I was hoping to find to help inform my purchasing decision. Keep up the great reviews!
The rubber insert WILL deform and break over time. So is there an option to purchase just that, and be able to replace it? No if, ands, or buts. It WILL happen. Probably within a year or less too.
Oh ok I got yah now. Yes the "strap" is silicone. The metal divider which is what I thought you were talking about is aluminum. I'm sure they sell extra straps should anyone need one.
I know man very hard choice for me between this or trayvax element, ended up with this since i need a wallet a little bit bigger. Do you have any pictures of this? Cant wait to arrive, i hope no problems at customs/airport due to multitool
@@tactigearjunkie well 2 years later I have zero complaints. This is absolutely my favorite wallet of all time…. Ha ha ha, that being said, I am actually looking at buying a new Dango in a different color this time 🤪
Honest question here... Why do most tools like this have a oxygen tank wrench? I mean, besides paramedics and such, what's a normal EDC use for it???? (sorry for my ignorance)
Good review. Did your M1 come with scuff marks on the interior coating of the aluminum?? Mine did and looks like a returned/ already used wallet. Smh $149.
Thanks for watching! Do you mean on the divider piece that sits next to the multi tool? If so yes. I think that is common production wear for that piece. They probably coat them and throw them in a parts bin.
If it's any help - I have 2 Dango wallets - T01 Black tactical and D01 Brown Bifold, T01 is well over a year old, leather is holding great, and all black surface hides the scratch marks well, you really need to look carefully and up close to notice them. Bifold is newer, just over half a year old, also looks awesome, like new, no scratch marks or any other damage, leather looks like new. Only "problem" with bifold is that is thicker than tactical, especially if you carry the multitool with you all the time and have loots of cards (and cash on the inside), but even with all that is still thiner than "normal" leather bifold wallets. p.s. Happy New Year and sorry if my english is bad, not my native language.
Hey guys, this model actually doesn't contain leather. It made using Dango's "DTEX" material. It's a very strong and resilient fabric that feels somewhat like leather. The T01 Tactical wallets also contain this material. So, there's no leather here fellas.
I really love these wallets but im not a minimalist at all when it comes to wallet carrying. Can anyone tell how these are at carrying MAX capacity all the time? Is it hard to access any card you need? Any input would be nice considering iys price point
Thanks for watching. I regularly carried it around with 10+ cards the tool and some cash. It gets a little bulky out because there are som many places to put cards no one place gets too stuffed.
Great video! I was just searching for videos on this wallet and was hoping for a thorough review exactly like this. Only question I have is, do you consider it larger than a standard leather billfold? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Comparing it to my leather billfold wallet it is about the same size as my empty billfold. The M1 is about 3/4 - 1in thick when full.
After paying over $168 for this wallet 5 months ago I was expecting at least 5 years of use from this wallet but 5 months later I don't think it will be used by me for that long. First of all, it's made of some kind of rubber-esh/plastic-esh material, definitely not leather, as we know. The Cerakote finish it's not the best for wallets, especially if you keep your wallet with your coins and keys… I don't keep my wallet with coins and keys and still after five months it looks like it's been used for 5 years… I did contact the Dango support line about my wear and tear issue but they told me that they don't have a warranty for that kind of issue, only if I get a crack in the DTEX material or aluminum frame part… And Yes, loose stitches or wear will not get covered after 12 months…
Great video and review! I may be crazy, but $150 doesn't seem like a terrible price for this. It looks like a solid product that's well-built. A lot of the "tac" stuff is way over-priced. But you have to judge the quality of the product. I didn't hear you give an overall opinion of the wallet. How do you judge the quality of the wallet given the price?
Thanks for watching! Yes it is a little pricey but given what you get it believe it's worth it if you are into something like this. Overall it is well built and in my opinion high quality.
Very good review! Just got mine last night and I love it. I know it’s expensive but my T01 is still alive after 4 years of use. So I would not complain with the price if you’re considering the build quality, functions, style and man that customer service via facebook messenger is the best...
OK, you posted this video approximately a year and a half ago how is it holding up seriously? have you dropped it and chipped the cercoat? I read some various reviews and saw that their customer service was pretty bad , any input would be most appreciated great job on the video
I like your review, it’s quite detailed as you do a great job of describing the product. :-) That being said, I’d get one of these but I wish instead of a “band” holding the money in I wish they would’ve made it a clip instead.
My guy, there is an M1 chassis clip you can purchase from their website. I just ordered this wallet, a tether, and the m1 clip. It actually gets screwed on and the hardware is provided. I haven’t gotten it yet and so haven’t used it. There is a video on their website for the clip. Again, its called M1 chassis clip. $25 as of today and 20% off coupon for labor day sale.
Thanks for the video man! Great review and another choice other than the trayvax contour! I haven't seen any other other competitors for the trayvax. This seems like it might be just as thick as the trayvax but a few dollars less but I feel has more tools and useful things as a wallet! Just curious if you've tried or had trayvax at all, maybe the contour model and how it compares to this dango me 🤔
Thanks for watching! I actually had been using a Trayvax prior to this. I loved it. Only stopped using it because I got this one. About the same thickness when filled. I'll do a comparison soon!
I use the Contour right now and I love it! I’ve tried other wallets and nothing I’ve used compares. I have been interested in the Dango line tho. This wallet is very intriguing...
How difficult is it putting that money back underneath the band? Seeing how it wasn't shown on video I'm assuming it's not quick. Also, has anyone tried taking this on a plane?
$150.00 "Tactical" wallet? Now I have seen everything "Tactical!!!" When will this end? Haven't we used this term to death? There is literally a "Tactical" everything! I WOULD get one of these but it would clash with my "Tactical" underwear LOL Nice video though :)
Dang my leather trifold wallet from Fossil is cheaper then this and I got that for 50$ back in 2006 when I was in 11th grade. Still got it and still works fine, kind of a testament to their quality. But I have been looking for a new replacement not cause its raggeddy or anything. Just want a change of pace. I will say this, so far this is one of the better looking tacticool wallets I have seen in my search.
Whats next? Tactical toothbrush? Tactical bicycle? No wait. Tactical microwave. We already have tactical coffee so a tactical beer cuzi would be great for the battlefield.
Mine came with searches, probably the guy installing my multitool didn't tae car installing it. Also I noticed a few places they missed with the cerakote. Last but not least there was a guy that had it for three weeks and complained about the lock getting too loose. I had mine for about two weeks now and. can definitely see it wearing out a week. The design and materials used on this wallet is amazing. its a shame it wasn't tested properly I guess. And last question I mean I'm not very experienced with create but I have a knife coated in it and its pretty wear resistant I already have a lot of wear marks on the aluminum frame. Do you think it wasn't coated properly or maybe not baked?
Thanks for watching! Taking the tool out and placing it back in definitely causes some marks as the steel tool wears against the cerakoted aluminum. But I would say it's completely normal. I don't have any places on mine where it's worn through the coating though. I can see where the clasp may become looser over time. I'd like to see how long the stitching holds up.
Looks as bulky as a regular leather wallet but non of its regular function lik cash slot(that r more secure than that strap), coin pouch or even multiple slots for cards. Instead they remove all those to add a thick metal knife thing which isnt good and didnt remove any of the bulk. Plus its expensive af. Why not i just get a decent leather wallet and a decent knife(or swissknife). The main reason why ppl venture out of a regular wallet is mainly becos of the bulk.
If you're looking at this, go look up trayvax element. Real leather, not cheap ass aluminum, not held together with a band. Your wallet can go on a plane and it's 100% made and sourced in America. Simplicity and real not this weird thing.
Nice I've got the same wallet. Been thinking of reviewing it, watching your review was really inspiring. Ha you noticed the front card carrier pocket getting worn down a little by the card you've been carrying in it?
The best part I like about the wallet are the 100$ bills..lol😂😂 jokes aside I think it's a cool wallet!! Others may say it's too thick, the multitool is a gimmick blah..blah2... It's all about personal preference. To those who don't like it,just don't buy it and those who buy/bought it will surely love it...it's simple as that!BTW great vid/review! Although I don't own one,I really love watching it!can't wait for your review on the trayvax! I love all their wallets, specially the contour! Keep up the great work and I wish u the very best!!👍🏻👍🏻📁📂. With♥from Mizoram👏🏻👏🏻
Umm you already can use both sides. take 2 pieces fold together wipe ass flip over wipe ass unfold, fold the other way wipe ass flip over wipe ass...duh
With so many items about that one can use to open a bottle, I find these a idiot add to useful tools,( a can opener more useful). I can see having fools manning TSA point taking this wallet from you. But yes very cool looking. Semi practical. Nice video quality. Thank you
I looked through their entire site at all of their models trying to find this photo you mentioned with a badge clipped to this wallet and found none. Were you reading from a script or is this actually something they promote.
lucasfinley sorry for being a smart ass. Thanks for the link. A little pricey all told but you get what you pay for. Thanks for the review. This is definitely something I’ve been looking for.
great video. but I do think the wallet is a bit pricy. the multi-tool will probably not going to make it pass airport security if they do their job. and not good for hold cash from countries that use large size bills
Nice but my Flipside Wallet 4 is cheaper, looks cool and it serves the purpose for which I need it for. Besides, lets be realistic, how many times in a lifetime are you really going to use the multi-use tool? Nice, but too expensive, unfortunately.
"Tactical special ops wallet" yeah...just in case your driver's license has to do some night time recon on it's own while shopping for more crap with the word "tactical" in the title. cause you know, the navy seals are constantly blowing their cover because they're wallets are too normal. ( really good review video, but crap product imo)
Just curious as to (being serious not a dick) why is it a crap product? Is it actually a crappy product or just more crappy marketing? Genuinely wanna know
I wonder why this product doesn't have a mark that it is made in USA. Some companies are so proud to put it in their product. Or maybe it's just assembled in the US that's why they are not allowed to say made in the US. You can only read designed in California which is typical for chinese made asembled in the USA.
Nice wallet. Have you tried to take it on a plane yet? Seems silly to have to check your wallet whenever you fly. Nice gimmick but I’d rather just have a normal wallet and a pocket knife.
I was a backer of what I believe is their original design on Kickstarter, and used it for about a year or so. Moved on to a Trayvax Contour and have been using that for about a year now, and love it. Thanks for watching! You can take the wallet but would have to take the tool out.
I can also confirm that, flew from Co to vegas about a month ago, although i didnt have the tool with it i was able to bring it with me.
If you're looking at this, go look up trayvax element. Real leather, not cheap ass aluminum, not held together with a band. Your wallet can go on a plane and it's 100% made and sourced in America. Simplicity and real not this weird thing.
How does this work in a airport?
Add a useless string, and some metal that is awkward and uncomfortable in your pocket, and BOOM.... you have a tactical wallet!
Nice I've got the same wallet. Been thinking of reviewing it, watching your review was really inspiring. Ha you noticed the front card carrier pocket getting worn down a little by the card you've been carrying in it?
Thanks for watching! Yeah I believe the front pocket has stretched a little bit but not bad.
Thanks for watching! And the kind words.
I am going to invent tactical toilet paper, you will be able to use both sides.
Umm you already can use both sides. take 2 pieces fold together wipe ass flip over wipe ass unfold, fold the other way wipe ass flip over wipe ass...duh
I never thought I would spend 150 on a wallet but I might have to on this
Haha. Yeah that's how it happens. Thanks for watching!
With so many items about that one can use to open a bottle, I find these a idiot add to useful tools,( a can opener more useful).
I can see having fools manning TSA point taking this wallet from you.
But yes very cool looking.
Semi practical.
Nice video quality.
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Would airlines allow you on a plane with that?
Yes, but the tool has to be checked.
The music at the end of this video is awesome! What is that? I must have that instrumental!!!
Drew4078 Minecraft.
I looked through their entire site at all of their models trying to find this photo you mentioned with a badge clipped to this wallet and found none. Were you reading from a script or is this actually something they promote.

There you go.
lucasfinley sorry for being a smart ass. Thanks for the link. A little pricey all told but you get what you pay for. Thanks for the review. This is definitely something I’ve been looking for.
All good brother. Thanks for watching. I'll be taking a look at some of their other (cheaper) options soon.
Can i get through an airport with this?
Not with the larger multi tool, you'd have to check that.
Am I the only one that watched this at 2x playback speed...? It still sounded fine to me lol 🤷
1.5x for me hahaha
Not the wallet for me but very good job on the video very helpful
great video. but I do think the wallet is a bit pricy. the multi-tool will probably not going to make it pass airport security if they do their job. and not good for hold cash from countries that use large size bills
Thanks for watching! Send large bills would need to be folded twice.
@@tactigearjunkie that's problem, in a mostly Cash society, this wallet just doesn't have the room to carry cash. It's a great card user item.
Leather? Where?
Nice but my Flipside Wallet 4 is cheaper, looks cool and it serves the purpose for which I need it for. Besides, lets be realistic, how many times in a lifetime are you really going to use the multi-use tool? Nice, but too expensive, unfortunately.
Great review brother! I'd be down for one but with as much as I have to fly i don't think I could go through TSA with it.
Thanks for watching!
That multi tool is a straight up gimmick
"Tactical special ops wallet" yeah...just in case your driver's license has to do some night time recon on it's own while shopping for more crap with the word "tactical" in the title. cause you know, the navy seals are constantly blowing their cover because they're wallets are too normal. ( really good review video, but crap product imo)
Just curious as to (being serious not a dick) why is it a crap product? Is it actually a crappy product or just more crappy marketing? Genuinely wanna know
Can you take it on an airplane though?
Agree, another tacticool object. When it became so military to carry a couple of bucks as we are so poor, haha
Yeah you would just have to not bring the tool which would free up a lot of space for extra cash or cards. Thanks for watching!
That's sexy, but that is the kind of money I spend on boots/shoes, not wallets.
That's a nice edc but I find the Ridge Wallet is cool and minable my edc .
Yeah the ridge wallets are great. Thanks for watching!
Is there anybody who can tell me How can I get it
