Are Pokemon Fans Rightfully Upset? | The Problem With Palworld

- Tribalism is running wild with the face-off between the new kid on the block, Palworld, and its juggernaut rival, Pokemon. Between debates on the use of AI, or whether or not it's an asset flip, Palworld has made a massive impact on both the gaming world as well as their fandoms.
After Palworld's initial announcement, the game was critisized for it's "familiar" art style and adult gameplay. But surprise, surprise - Palworld's a success story, crossing 17 million downloads. Yet, some fans aren't cheering.

"Unga?"

As a Pokemon fan and avid player of Pokemon fan games, I'm grateful for things like Monster Hunter Stories, Palworld, Nexomon, and others. Video games should be able to borrow ideas from each other. Gaming copyright is actually too restrictive right now, and the fans need to stop asking for it to be harder to make new games!
Gen Z needs to stop asking for tougher copyright laws on video games; the big companies might grant their wish, and that would make it hard on everyone.
So the Pokémon were the palworlds we met along the way
I think a lot of the fan base is also angry that an independany studio finally made a good pokemon game and they need a vessel for that angriness. Pokemon was riding the nostalgia wave for years and this is a wake up call
but they didn't though. the game is more Ark than pokemon. the only things it has in common is the creature collecting aspect. Everything else is Ark/ other survival games
@@saiyantwan That’s kind of the point though: where it can be different genres instead of the same Pokémon formula.
They made the Pokémon game we wanted: a fresh new way to interact with our little furry digital friends, grow bonds, and where the “Trainer class” isn’t the only option.
Maybe more simply, we wanted a game that excites us and feels like a game with effort and passion put in.
What you wanted wasn't a pokemon game, it was something else
The pokemon games are so "bad" because they don't steal resources from who IS paid well for the IP: plushie manufacturers and monster designers. The game itself is a pretty mechanistic niche RPG and not the technicolor graphical feature some gamers demand to CHANGE IT into, neither is it funding its yearly schedule through microtransaction like EA.
It's a perfectly good show for what it is: a yearly updated, half and half video game and TRADITIONAL game that is meant to be played by living in this real world, like going outside to meet friends to link cable with. If you want good graphics, you can buy the actual merchandise on IRL framerate, touch grass, and support the monster desigenrs far more substantially that in-game graphical escapism. You can't buy off what you demand to change pokemon into, by buying the game every year where all the money goes to retail stores and cartridge printing processes, plus TAXES for your own healthcare. No company does any better, the bar is just unfairly raised for "big" companies, when the money flow still only creates so much investment space, not some "huge profits" but money going in, and out.
What Palworld is doing, is not bad per se but it is absolutely parastici on the artists at Pokemon Company and the massive fanbase of games like PUBG and ARK. All the "Pokemon fans" who want the games to "do better", are actually fine with the artists completely being ripped off by Palworld, when they would raise hell if these artists were indies who refused to get hired by bigger companies or do anything by the book, without the small industry perks like not having to license materials for your youtube videos or pom your distribute through Patreon. The artists at Pokemon Company are still human beings just as much as RUclipsrs are human being but Google allows them to make content based on leagalized piracy, NOT paying much of anything or create the kind of jobs Pokemon does.
@@lonirains2306Pokemon has different genres, it's been apart of Tekken, smash bros, mystery dungeon, Pokemon snap, there's also mini games within the main series that emulate gambling, excite bike, tony hawk, and starfox. Also, the whole point of a game series is to keep improving on the original formula and GF did just that and both them and TPC went above and beyond to both expand the original formula all the while fitting Pokemon into different genres.
Having a bond is literally how many Pokemon evolve, also there's even a separate bond mechanic through amie/refresh which is actually more hands on affection interactivity than what Pal world offers.
You actually won't ever have a Pokemon game with more passion put into it given by any other developer. Other developers wouldn't carry over every single piece of battle content like GF did for 7 generations. No company ever in the history of time has let you carry over combat data across 7 generations of games much less all of it.
Great job spouting nonsense.
RIP benny
If you're a fan of pokemon, then you ought to be a fan of Palworld, as it's showing to Nintendo and Gamefreak that we want more from the franchise, and now that Scarlet / Violet has been put into perspective about the sort of game we could be getting, maybe they'll get off their backside and actually put effort into it again.
Competition is healthy, and Pokemon hasnt had any for a long time, this can only benefit the pokemon franchise in the long run.
I see more life in the way that Pals move and animate than in anything i've seen in Scarlet/violet, and actively working alongside Pals, and having a decent actual co-op experience is all something ive wanted from the Pokemon franchise since forever, and the whole way you can actively swap between fighting by yourself in tandem with pals and jumping on them to control them is pretty innovative, its way more action oriented than Ark or the like is, and so much more wonderfully dynamic than the turn based stuff you see in Arceus and mainline games.
Ibsr I’m not a fan of palworld it’s alright it’s a bit too distant from Pokemon I much prefer Coromon or just playing fan games and rom hacks
I'd have to hard disagree, you can be a fan of one but not the other. Palworld is called pokemon with guns but that's actually Digimon since they keep it toned down when it comes to certain aspects. Palworld is the midlife crisis pokemon game. You got nothing to lose and so you just go all out cause you don't know if you'll see tomorrow. People bought the game to try and stick it to Nintendo...but they're not. Sales of the pokemon games aren't hit at all, the merchandise is still selling like crazy. Palworld has attention because they wanted their pals to look like pokemon, they rely on pokemon to get attention. I do hope the game is just a blip cause it's a lazy cash grab that paid off for lazy people.
@@everettjohnson9374you can be a fan of both. Of course PalWorld isn't going to hurt Pokémon sales.
Pokémon itself will hurt its own sales if they keep doing what they're doing. PalWorld is in its own weird bubble, just like Digimon is in its own weird bubble (and trust me, Digimon can be as messed up if not moredo that what PalWorld has to offer right now).
Some people bought the game to stick it to Nintendo, but I think that's actually a minority. I feel alot of people were curious as to what the heck this weird thing is, tried it, liked it, and played more of it. Most people didn't expect it to play well, most didn't even think the game was real and the trailers were fake.
Time will tell how things go for both Pokémon and PalWorld, and I hope both do well and satisfy their players.
@@jibaontim8975You might like Cassette beasts then!
Pokémon fans aren’t upset, people who don’t know what fun is are upset. Pokémon fans love this game.
I agree. It's fun to fly around the map on your tamed flying Pals. Or surf on your water type Pals. Or catch humans for slavery.
It's the pokemon fans who don't have a PC/Xbox that are upset, they feel like they're missing out, so they lash out.
Its funny how he calls them mons when they are actually Pals
alot of people call them mons. pokemon has been around so long and has been the big dog its just easier to call fighting animals mons no matter what game they are in.
@@zerodawn09yyup, Probably Digimon has a lot to do with as well to solidify the creatures in 'monster-collector' games as mons regardless of IP
well mon is just short for monster so
Me and my best friend first saw each other while playing MegaManX3 in a local arcade joint; sometime after, he happened to saw me on the street and decided to talk to me to see if I wanted to trade games because we both like MegaMan. That was 25 years ago.
is this in pokemon or palworld lore?
I will always recommend Digimon. It grew up with its audience and they’re all pretty fun and the franchise keeps experimenting outside its World and Story series of games. It’s not perfect but they’re fun games with cool characters and stories and monsters. And I feel it should always be given a shot
Man, Digimon never gets a break.
Every game has so much untapped potential that a single extra mechanic or tweak would turn it from being good to great.
Pokemon was already grown up. What GF writes is just what is just on their mind, not what is suitable for children. If you really pay attention to all the dialogue that's what it really is.
it great that Pokémon got actual competent competition now
Is it competition? By the sounds of it, two different genres aimed at different audiences. It sounds like a wake up like Logan or Deadpool.
@@gHGhej both of them got monsters
@@Steflora both of them got monster
@@gHGhej i think it is for people who dont know any better. they tend to call it "pokemon with guns" but we know thats not right but its still the catch phrase. its also why the pokemon fans hate it so much. they dont look into it and go off the headline, its why the hate is so sad.
@@Steflora IN EA it has everything i wanted from pokemon Except Turnbased battles. That is all that is missing the JRPG in this ARPG. Something they are actually working in in the PVP and Pal Arena Modes.
As a fan of Digimon and pokemon i just don't find the game appealing like the premis you give at the beginning where you trun them into slaves is like the super villain you fight in all our favorite mon games lol
What no one talks about, pokemon just took a cool element from jrpg's, summoning creatures into battle, and built a buggy popular game around it. Over 2 decades later, pal world takes elements from survival games, and make a buggy popular game around it....... , I wonder what buggy popular game will pop out next?
hhhmmm... one is a mistake, two is coincidence, and three it's a pattern.

Never thought that Benny would be tackling this 😂😂😂
If nintendo cant do anything about genshin impact it cant do anything against palworld.
OK so real talk? A few weeks ago I had Burger King for the first time in a very long time and it tasted really mid. Like, kinda sucks. The hell happened? So yeah I'm siding with Benny in that regard.
People just want something to complain about. I enjoy both Pokémon and Palworld. I also enjoy Temtem. People need to get a life.
I doubt any of the people here even play Pokemon to have any right to complain. They're constantly spouting that Pokemon has competition when none of the games are alike and 2, Pokemon as a main series quite literally used to feed off of all previous battle content in every sequel, their last game to do this made it 7 times bigger than its first release in terms of battle content. Pal world isn't catching up to that.
I haven't played Pokemon since Emerald & The Original Pearl. I am not offended by Pal Worlds Gameplay or it being cooler. I played through Pokemon Collesuem and that is my Pal World.
I'm not supportive of it cuz it looks like they copied their competetion unfairly and is expecting me to give them support for that while trying to hide it at the same time.
The Green Pal looks like Aipom. And I continue to see more of then that look too much like different Pokemon and the almost exact same visual concepts that made them, to really say Pal World creators were trying to be original.
From copied eyes to duplicating a flower created by Pokemon that doesnt exist in the real world. Nah. And well I'm sure the game is fun. I dont feel right giving them the support while they piggyback off of someones elses efforts And so I haven't even bothered with it.
Ultimately Game Freak needs the challenge it will ot least hopefully push them to make better pokemon games
It’s been a little over 20 years since I first played Pokémon Crystal… Palworld feels like the spin-off/crossover we’ve never gotten but I have always wanted
So far the main series has basically felt like the anime where “action” is 99.99% done Pokémon vs Pokémon in a fairly regulated manner.
Palworld in comparison feels like the Manga where Bruno has an Onix *under the battlefield* to attack mid-fight. It feels more like how real people would interact with magical creatures we could control… we’d exploit and weaponize the F*** out of them. It very much is Ark with a Pokémon patch or PLA with an M rating based more on the manga in terms of violence
My complaint:
Another Ark clones?! ....
Although, I am enjoying the twist it brings, so take that with a grain of sarcasm.
Hope the influx of funds allows the creators to make a better crafting system!
Like the Survival crafter genre is only made of Ark. Granted, that one had the most prevalent creature taming before Palworld popped into the field. But hey, that's how the genre evolves.
Palworld is already better than Pokémon and Ark. Does it touch Valheim or Vintage Story? Nope... probably even Enshrouded is better in sure quality of survival game.
But it's a pretty unique and awesome hybrid ball of fun.
@@janosd4nuke I actually think its WAY better than Valheim. And Enshrouded was a disappointment. But being better than ARK is such a low bar it shouldn't even be mentioned.
@@snintendog hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so fair enough I guess. I still have a Valheim-type autism, not everyone has to.
Enshrouded fell further on my backlog, and thanks for taming my expectations I guess.
And yyyup, Ark only has any validity because that dumpster fire was the only notable example of survival game focused on creature taming and is a cheap 'Ackthually-card' when you get annoyed/bored with the 'Pokémon with guns' spamming. Also Palworld's tech unlock screen is straight out of Ark's engrams... it's adorably hilarious how blatant it gets on many places.
But now what I'm pretty excited about is that Palworld showed how you can do good monster-tamer x survival and crack the Ivory tower of the monster tamer monopoly, what next devs inspired by it pull up in 3 years time.
I just saw ark the other day too and it looked infinitely better than this.
@@rpgfanatic9719 you have not played the game and heard all the scandals about it have you? xD its pretty awful and a buggy mess and still have bugs from 2015 inside..

Far as I know most Pokémon fans love pal world and don’t want it taken down like other Pokémon mod games
PAL world isn’t Pokémon. Yes it has monster catching but it isn’t Pokémon. Not my type of game but good on ya. I don’t like building. I just want to catch pokemonw and fight
The AI art app makes 2D AI art.
Trailers were there, AI couldn't do this at that time. (Good 3D AI art)
AI still cant do models well the same with Video. Sure it can but its in its Infancy right now.
Dcuo is still pretty great overall and has a 300k player base not big but thriving

pokemon will always be apart of me. but people getting up and arms about palworld is a bit silly.
Martin vibes on that intro 😅
💪🏾
It does stem from the word fanatic, and that is to be completely and single mindedly obsessed with a specific thing. Some people get completely obsessed about it while some of us just go "this is fun." And sometimes it can become unhealthy if you dont balance it out
Love that intro. I like that psychological aspect of this Benny pointed out. Might just be the actual reason.
I think the reason why pokemon fans are so upset against palworld is because they _think_ the pals are an imitation of pokemon just really altered around to look different but so similar that there isnt much originality and just banking off their favorite IPs imagery which they hate. I mean there are some pals that look like they are so inspired by pokemon to the point where i guess it does affect that sense of identity. Sure you could take a 3d model and shape it like clay, as in if you make a clay stick figure with no detail and mold it so it has like different shapes kinda thing, but i think a lot of pokemon fans including myself see different things in the same pal which might not even exist in the first place but the pokemon fans are trying to point it out cause they want to show that the palworld shouldnt be seen as better or great. But the games so different to pokemon and has depth to it too. Its like some people dont want to give palword a fair try. Though i guess its just everything regarding the designs of the pals mostly.
There is the track record of the palworld devs making games that are just mixing the mechanics of other games together, I say they found the best kind of mix and the only real worry i saw is whether this game will ever come out of early access or not. But with the success and fast patches id say the game will just get better. However one of their games i believe had an ai art generator which adds to peoples belief that they used ai to make the designs. I really doubt it, but if you fill in an art generators database with just basic pokemon art you will get pokemon like designs that are completely different. I know this because there actually was a lot of ai art programs that really took pokemon fan art to generate art. This was back when ai art generation wasnt as good as it is today. But there are a lot of pals that just seem very unique and plainly inspired or original and different from pokemon. Like the dev have most likely built them from scratch so it makes sense that they built the other models from scratch too after creating concept art. Pokemon itself had inspirations of their designs come from something else. A good example is Lucario, though palworlds anubis is a lot closer to its inspiration than lucario. A pokemon fangame did that too with the same egyptian theme. Honestly it feels like palwaord devs are fans or pokemon too, to the point they took inspiration from them and like the devs really put something like lovander as number 69. They know whats up lol, so it cant be AI generated. Though the pal Kattress seems more inspired by pokemon fanart that put whatever in the outfit or design of mismagius, cause that was a mini trend for a while. Though theres this one pal thats like amaterasu from okami and that one pal thats supposed to be a manticore but really looks like teostra from monster hunter. I like how mostly everyone i see only see pokemon and are like they just jumbled the pieces put together or edited slightly and dont see what else they could be similar too. If anything the ones that arent pokemon inspired to see if they arent just reusing and altering assets from other IPs.
But in the end why does it even matter. Its a fun game and thats totally different and satisfies the itch pokemon will never do. And thats put guns in it. I mean sure, pokemon had a guy try killing everyone at one point or another guy bombing a lake, or another group causing terrorism by freezing an entire city or this other one guy completely manipulating the life and growth of a person for his sick and twisted schemes for power, pokemons totally a kids game right? Palworls is another monster collecting game that just treats its monsters different without a big story as of yet but its a good gameplay loop. Also like it runs better than the latest pokemon game. If anything pokemon fans should be mad about their games not running with the fidelity of palworld. And maybe they are and hopefully pokemon actually feels like a game of this era someday.
Oh believe me there pokemon fans that mad at the release of pokemon. I also think that yeah the AI accusations are head scratcher to me, like if there is no evidence they did they probably didn't do it.
I keep saying it, Palworld is everything I wish a Pokemon game was. Minus the butchering part.
Why is Benny using Mr beast thumbnails lol
Pokemon fans are rightfully upset, but at the wrong people. Also both McDonald's and Burger King suck(at least the ones in my town do).
10 years? Wow, I only played it for a year. People stopped playing with me so I stopped. I get wanting to feel part of a group, it took me forever to find people like me (I'm trans mtf), but I would never stoop to hating someone for liking something I don't.
They won't say Gta 6 is Immoral or that ESG Street fighter 6 Immoral.

4:34 Yes sir. Mankind is doing the moonwalk while using technology that was supposed to help us advance. Good stuff. Nice catch.
Some of pals look like pokemon fusions. Palworld is a very different game though, and I'm not going to yuck someone's yum for liking it though
Yeah that’s what I think is gonna get the game in legal trouble is the designs of some of the pals being way too on the nose
Hi Benny, how are you doing?
I can't wait to see this 😊
This is nothing to see. This is Transformers and Gobots. Same old story.
Benny which Pokémon tattoo do you have?
considering his red hood tat i'm guessing Charizard
Not rightfully, stupidly. People are stupidly upset.
I love Pokémon and am a huge fan, but I’ve said for a while that GameFreak shouldn’t make the games anymore. There’s clear signs of games like Ark, Elden ring, and Zelda too in Palworld, and as good as this game is no one is saying it’s better than those games, but everyone sure is saying it’s better than Pokemon, and if Pokemon had just made quality content, I do not see a world where this game succeeds as much as it did. Pokémon’s failure is Palworlds success.
Honestly I do have to hard disagree here. The only people I really see trying to push the whole “Palworld is better than Pokemon” narrative are people who just want Pokemon to be something completely different than what it is. I also don’t see any dev being able to do much better than game freak in making an actual Pokemon game. This game is Fortnite smashed together with Ark and the devs just made their monsters look like Pokemon to get the attention of people who are just begging for more spin off games
@@shadewolf0075 so why not have GameFreak work on a showdown style game for anyone who still likes turn based, and hire someone like Genius Sonority or something to work on a different game? Regardless of what you think of which is better, some silly little indie team put out a more polished product using base UE5 assets than Pokemon has in a decade, and you can’t blame fans for not wanting to deal with that anymore
@@mesadrums375 I’d hardly say these guys did much other than copy already existing ideas from other survival games and port assets from Pokemon game from what I seen. I get you are no longer part of the target audience but please stop trying to fundamentally change a franchise just because the genre it’s in doesn’t appeal to you anymore
@@shadewolf0075 none of those claims have any evidential weight atm, but even if it’s true c I’d be ashamed if a company that “took aspects from other survival games and took Pokemon assets” is being universally praised for being better than Pokemon, performance and scope wise, no one wants them to be the same game. We just want Pokemon to put in more effort.
@@mesadrums375 it’s actually pretty apparent that a lot of pals share the same proportions and outlines of a lot Pokemon that’s not something that happens on accident but is very deliberate. I saw a tweet that did comparisons and it was pretty damning for pocket pair.
Gameplay wise it’s not Pokemon no matter how you try to spin it and it’s just another uninspired survival game.
Also “Palspheres” isn’t a very great way to avoid a lawsuit.
Look I get you want Pokemon to do better but just rushing to defend a game that’s basically made by a company known for just knocking off well known games and IPs in hopes that it somehow puts a dent in Nintendo’s wallet isn’t really it.
The game is very much skirting along the boundaries of copyright and ultimately is just using the Pokemon knock offs to generate the attention it’s getting which is why the devs are trying to claim they are inspired by ark more then Pokemon right now because they know they are skirting that line and don’t want to open themselves to a easy lawsuit
Palworld is a great game. Any excuse towards it being bad is stupid. Whether you like it or not, it will remain a great game.
Is putting the word "forced" before "slave labor" really necessary?
Is that Comicstorian?
Thats me! I just started up a generalized commentary channel so I can expand on the rant series on my channel
tPC has been dropping the ball for years, dud after dud. The fact is, palworld is early development, earlt access, by a small indie company on a small budget. The game is a buggy mess, but still enjoyable. Scarlet and violet have been out for what, over a year now? And theyre still run even worse than palworld. I was in elementary school when red and blue came out, i fully understand the nostalgia and have played almost all of the games. But they havent made a good one since b&w. Pocket pair finally brought the people what they want, and if people are upset about that, it says an awful lot about them
I maybe wrong but i never once wanted pokemon with guns, I wanted open world, impressive looking update pokemon worlds. where we could explore joto, kanto and travel the entire world. I have been away from pokemon cause the new designs suck, the inspiration just speak burnt out and cash drop rather than interesting and fun pokemon. palword is fun but i dont want guns or survival in my my pokemon. I want dance comps, i want cookingm,, i want classic pokemon and regions explorable and visitable, choose able start locations, and traevese the whole world. not koffin with smoke stack,. palworld and pokemon can co exist an i think fans are upset because if pal world can do it gamefreak which should have the money could have
you do realize guns exist in pokemon, right? It is just that other countries took them out
Honestly Palworld feels like what the Pokémon manga was trying to portray in terms of weaponizing and exploiting Pokémon except turned up to 11
@@DragonmasterKeel yes I realize they exist within the world. but how often in games are they ever referenced?

I dont want to run around as pokemon trainer with a gun.
Thats for me. I never stated once they didnt exist in the games or magna.
...may I recommend "ooblets"?
It may not fill the needs you seek, but maybe it's something close to what you've been seeking.
The intro lol
I'm more annoyed about the countless people proclaiming and singing the praises of Palworld at the expense of Pokemon, without knowing the finer details. "This would teach Pokemon to make Better games", "This is Pokemon done right", "Pokemon would be forced to consider better gameplay now that there's competition". It's basically the same topic of people that want Baldurs Gate 3 to be a Action game because they can't stomach turn-based except it's inverted, the Action game people are the popular side. Pokemon can make "a game", a one off at most that may cater to the wants of those people, but don't expect them to over haul their main franchise RPG series Like how Final Fantasy made the jump from turn-based to Action oriented. Pokemon is a kids franchise and therefore will always cater to kids, the easy game play and tutorial will always come with that territory, there are people who are tired of that, but will ultimately have to come with terms that they are not the target audience. They also have to consider competitive Pokemon. Unlike Final fantasy who doesn't have a PvP system, Pokemon World Championship is a global operation of Local, Regional and World tournaments. That for most part remained unchanged and almost impossible to convert. Yeah consider the Pokemon group declaring that the mainline Pokemon games are now FPS survival and require a different skill set to compete in tournaments, you won't be seeing the same crowd from last year. Armed with that understanding I'm just annoyed at the constant non-stop comments of people heralding Palworld as the catalyst of Pokemon's change. Palworld is a great game, I just wish people wouldn't parrot people's dissatisfaction to the Pokemon franchise on it.
Most people that are annoyed at Pokemon games are dissatisfied with how the game runs, the optimization, the bugs, QOL features and general lack of innovation. I've never seen a comment that wanted Pokemon to become a straight up action game like Palworld in this whole context. Your annoyance is misguided.
@@dirzzyeah... other than the QOL, and the fluidity of the open world exploration with riding your companions, petting them or letting them walk by you whenever, I haven't seen people suggesting Poémon wholesale taking up the Palworld formula.
Granted some phrase stuff loosely, like 'Palworld is everything I wanted in a Pokémon game's but that usually just means 'the creature mechanics of Palworld have great stuff I'm genuinely surprised and disappointed Pokémon hasn't implemented already, 'cuz it would have been an obvious natural fit'.
I heard no one actually advocate for guns, or sweatshops in Pokémon.
Though on the action game aspect, I'd be down for a real-time combat remake/spinoff Pokémon series.
They should absolutely keep the turn-based core series.
But if they go the Final Fantasy route and bring out 'Pokémon Grand Red/Blue' on next gen switch, where you have Gen1, an open world Kanto the size of Palpagos island and the battles handle like fighting games instead of turn based, that would be awesome. And that still doesn't go into Palworld's genre, more similar to Naruto Broken Bond back in the Xbox360, which was an open world x fighting game.
And with the difference in region/generation aside the genre I don't think it would eat a lot into the mainline games profits, but would bring back quite a lot of old fans or people who love the creatures but find the gameplay of a turn based RPG not their vibe. But that's not my call to make.
What I have a problem on the Palworld end of the discussion is the 'I don't care it's theft, it's fun' crowd...granted at this level of fame the simpleton crowd is inevitable. But while Palworld's assets are either legitimately licenced scenery or in-house built models, and they did an amazing job coherently mixing and balancing many genres, their audio and visual designs are often blatantly close to their inspiration and that's not the most quality look.
Or the other degenerate crowd getting their kicks on how cruel you can be in the game... yeah, it's there, and I'm glad it's there, variety gives weight to choice. But the amount of Psycho vs wholesome gameplay representation is honestly scaring me but there is definitely room for the second too.
but heres the question are you mad at the pokemon fans that are lying to try and defame palworld? if you arent then your argument is mute. cant be mad at once side if both are doing the same thing. also to give death threats because you "think" they stole assets. that is way to far and over the line.

@@zerodawn09 , To answer your question, I do not condone the actions of people goading Pokemon to take legal actions by making false claims, they are "just as bad" as you put it. My favourite argument Pokémon fans have is “Palworld is borderline unplayable due to all the bugs and issues”. Um hello? Palworld runs smoothly, and have you seen the bugs upon release that Scarlet and Violet had. There is no excuse for Pokémon at this point. They are a huge company putting out poor quality games at 2-3 times the price of palworld.
How many channels this mf gonna Make
Yes
IT'S OVER 9000!!!!
Looks like fans defend Nintendo, meanwhile Nintendo doesnt care about their customers and wont make anything even close to Palworld. Fans of Pokemon should be glad that Palworld became a thing, coz meaby now, they will get better Poke games.
Why are y’all acting like pal world will compete with Pokémon in any way 😂this ain’t me defending them but it’s Pokemon…. literally a house hold name vs a internet sensation which may or may not become dead sooner or later

i'm sorry, have you actually played any pokemon games? Or do you think day-care is a magical place where eggs pop out of thin air?
You're right. The millenial who is a nerd as a profession has probably never played Pokemon before.
Just tired of the pokemon haters that are calling this the pokemon killer.
you shouldn't blame Palworld for that as they never said that it is just people who are frustrated with pokemon that are saying that
Brazilians:
People riding Pokédick like they're defending their parents are wiiiiild. Especially when you consider that Pokemon stoke the idea for their concept from Monster in My Pocket (They were literallyin the same building when Pocket Monsters came out and the only reason Monster in My Pocket didn't win their court case was because they had a really bad lawyer), and they don't have a leg to stand on when Pokémon has so many deaigns "inspired" by Dragon Quest, but also mythical creatures and regular animals, which can't be trademarked or copyrighted, among others.
👍
For the people saying Palworld is a better pokemon they are wrong. I have played the game for about the last week and it is more Ark than pokemon. the only thing they have in common is you capture creatures and there are npc groups that can attack you. You are going on a coming of age story where you are facing challenges to prove yourself and even possibly save the world.
everything else from the UI, crafting, giving the pals jobs around the base, resource gathering, even the bones of the story are from Ark/ other survival games; You get washed up on a deserted island and you have to survive a thrive using the local flora and fauna. You can even tell they got a lot of the stock assets from unreal like ark, especially when it comes to base building, and there's nothing wrong there since the tools are available to be used in that way.
I think the people mad about it just want something to be mad about and since people online have marketed it "pokemon with guns" since when it comes to creature collecting that is the first thing that springs to mind for most and it became popular it triggered them, because if truly were concerned then Temtem would have gotten the same backlash since it follows the pokemon formula closer and was a bit more mature but sadly it has faded from collective memory.
I don't give a damn about it being legally different, it is blatantly theft. There are pals that have meshes that line up almost exactly with pokemon, there are rigging bones that do line up exactly with pokemon, there are literally pokemon parts that are just copy and pasted. The fact you can take a pal and break it down into the different pokemon it's an amalgamation of is more than enough proof of blatant theft. This is a problem that the company behind palworld actively participates in, as it literally is making a game with art stolen from Hollow Knight, an actual indie game.
This isn't about tribalism, it's about art theft. That's all we care about.
There is no theft at all. Legally or otherwise. You can't just "copy paste" parts of pokemon, mesh them together somehow and make it work. Pals were designed with thought and care behind it and it shows in the game. And although some similarity is intentional it still is a unique world that they're created, not that different how Pokemon "stole" the designs of Dragon Quest monsters.
Didn't all the mesh rig stuff get disproven over a week ago? The guy admitted it was a lie and he distorted models to make it fit
@dirzz with how the meshes line up nearly identical, you can literally match up where each pokemon part is from on each pal. And that dragon quest comparison is beyond bullshit as most of them don't even look similar and the rest are literally based on the same thing, but the main thing is that they have completely different art styles. Palworld never even tried, or at least didn't try hard enough to make th pals unique or have its own art style. The theft is blatant.
@@Azrael713 it was "disproven" because it was scaled up to match the size, but if you know anything about 3d modeling, you'd know how bullshit of an excuse that is because of how easy it is to change the scale of something. Blender literally has a default hotkey for it.
@@edwardhardin9411If the theft is blatant nintendo wouldve sued them to oblivion, if you had to compare a pal using several pokemon to prove your point, you completely lost the plot, theres no theft here, You also cannot own an artstyle, unless youre saying that fakemon artists should be sued bc its theft?
If this game is the thing that lights a fire under the asses of the pokemon company then im all for it but im not going to play it because it doesnt look fun
if you like games like ark or rust you will have a blast. if you dont then you wont. for some reason looking at it just doesnt give the fell of when you play. well once again if you like those types of games.
Its a mixture, people bought it to do 2 things. Think theyre sticking it to a company and they wanted an adult pokemon game when thats not the target audience. Many of the palworld players just spam other pages so much it makes me believe theyre snyderbros as well. Theyve even moved onto the Digimon community...like somehow THEY had anything to do with this lol its about moving the goalpost to see how much attention they can get. I see palworld as a blip, i played it since it was free but it just seemed like a cheap copy using a better facelift
That is how I see it. Most of the time it’s Palworld fans basically being grifters because they never got an official Pokemon game where they could be an actual evil pos and do horrible stuff to people and Pokemon.
It’s kinda funny also seeing them trying to deflect from some pretty good examples of copying in this game like Anubis basically being diet Lucario or one that looks like a eevee regional form. At least Digimon makes a good effort at distinguishing it’s designs from Pokemon then again I’m pretty sure Palworld’s devs weren’t confident in making more distinct designs would get them far as dancing on edge to get the inevitable comparisons.
On its own it’s basically FortniteXArkXConan and if they didn’t deliberately make their designs look like they’d fit in Pokemon then that’s how everyone would see it
People defending Nintendo after what they did to dragon quest is hillarious.
Screw Pokémon and their complaining fans. I am a big fan of Pokémon and a bigger fan of Palworld. Pokémon I’ll be back if and when GameFreak makes better games and stops being greedy.
Fandumbs. Heh...
Alright, i have to say this video is really poorly framed. It starts off by suggesting the only reason "pokemon fans" as if theyre the only ones who possibly have a reason to dislike the palword devs,"hate" palword is because they're nostalgically biased towards pokemon and cant stand other games. Even though pokemon the concept of monster collectors and wasnt the first of the genre and theyre have been many others since who didnt get near the same amount of criticism palworld did but alright. But then you go on to claim that the argument starts and ends with copyright infringement and palword has a smaller fan base so even if it did steal ideas Nintendo isnt currently sueing them so you should shut up as if copyright infringement is the only problem palworlds pals have. Just because something skirts the law of copyright does not make the design original nor does it mean that it should be viewed as quality that stands on its own. There are several pals that clearly are based on exsisting pokemon or copy certain design aspects of pokemon features. What bothers me is that this is clearly an attempt to cash in on a market of disaffected pokemon who do want a different type of game but have chosen to champion this poor escuse for a release. At least when Temtem tried this they had original designs an original format in singke player in double battles but not nearly the same staying power. I say all this to say its disingenuous at best to say you possibly cant have a problem with something unless you are culturally bought in to the opposing thing. It is possible to just not like something without glazing a corporation.
Thanks for watching!
You can say all you want about pals copying pokemon but there hasnt been enough proof of that, overall the designs are way too distinct. Its also wrong to claim some pals make a direct comparison to other pokemon when most of that is just the same animal. Chillet cant be a furret copy only because its a ferret, Same with direhowl, Same with lamball. Its impossible for yall to accept this game other than a cash grab when it actually has effort put into it
@@-fsa-3615 it also doesn't help when pokemon did the same thing to dragon quest same monsters but used a different art style to draw them
