That "gearbox for your rear shock" analogy was wonderful and really helped me understand the concept. I ran aftermarket linkages on my track Daytona 675R (more for fun than for any substantive reason) so I really appreciate this video
Another great video, thank you 🤘🤙
I remember when suzuki had the full floater. Rising rate .the shock got compressed both ends with a bell crank and leavers above the swinging arm.many moving parts but supposedly the ultimate rear suspension arrangement?
None of that in my day on a TZ350... A shagged out de carbon unit on the rear and six two pence peices in each fork leg to preload the springs... I think it worked but my collar bones tell a different story..
Another cracking video Simon...
Great information ,so clear in the way you explain.
Almost 40 years ago, my 'Bub Enterprises' sponsored 1981 Honda 750F AMA Superbike had an angled shock adjustment mount on the swingarm. Changing the shocks mounting position dictated the cantilevered angle of the Fox shocks. This adjustment allowed for increasing or decreasing the travel velocity of the shocks. Same thing, different generation...
You often hear people saying they don´t like to watch long youtube videos. I´m the opposite. I wan´t them as long as possible! It would be nice if Simon did a complete walk around of a bike and talk about all the little intricate details.
Can't love this enough. Great piece of information as always, thanks Simon and MotoGP

Nope, I've no idea what you were talking about, try a whiteboard or something

Not sure the super clever rear suspension tech should be calling linkages a gearbox - they tranfer motive power and provide variable ratios of power delivery to produce rpm and torque?
Please motogp learn from f1 they even detail changes with English bloke who explain so good and with help of 3d image to give viewers the image.
Wearing the mask with nobidy seemingly present?
You are not allowed to talk about the inside of an engine are you
I refuse to watch someone trying to explain or convey anything, with a nappy strapped to their face.
👍😍💚🌹
