@@awarshanna Let's face it, a lot of jazz guitarists like to show off and play the most difficult way rather than make the best music. You play wonderfully, with imagination and style while always keeping the melody alive for the listener. There are many guitarists like me who lack the knowledge of music theory and can't read music so they can't make their ownchord melody arrangements. Many of us are very happy to pay for tabs. Where are you based btw?
Christopher Andrews wow I really appreciate the kind words. It really helps keep me going knowing there are people out there who enjoy my music. I think I’ll start writing out my arrangements and put them on my website this week, I’ll update you when I have. I’m based out of the DMV
@@awarshanna A good way of showing the arrangements is done by a guy called Chris Whiteman. I bought his version of 'All the things your are' that shows standard notation, tabs and pictures of the chord shapes. The chord shapes are important to people like me who don't necessarly know how an Eflatsharp7 or some other unusual chord might be formed. What is DMV? Chris from England
Christopher Andrews yeah, writing those out takes time but they’re really helpful. The DMV is the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. If you’re ever in the US, stop by for a show!
Here's my comment copied from another reply, "For my guitar strings, I’m using a mixed set of D’Addario chromes which are 13-17-22w-30-38-48. My pick I use now is a BC Jazz 60, but I think I used a BC Jazz 100 in this video. I'm recording through my amp, which is a George Benson Hot Rod Deluxe that’s been modified a bit. Apart from some circuit board stuff, I replaced the first preamp tube 12AT7 with a 12AY7 to clean up the hiss and lower the gain a little. The settings are as follows: volume is set to 3, bass is set to 5, treble to 4, and middle to 8. The presence is set to 6. My pedal board has a Holy Grail reverb, an MXR analog delay, and a Boss blues driver. I only use a tiny bit of effects so that I get a little more sustain; I like to preserve the sound of a 175 into a tube amp. I don’t really do anything to it in post, except put the stock compressor in Pro Tools on it and then a second compressor on the master fader. I think the compression kind of gives it that 60’s blue note Kenny Burrell sound. I'm very new to recording so I’m still experimenting with it and learning."
