Hi Aishwarya This was really helpful and informative. I want to know if it is possible to work on a w2 as well as a 1099 employee for 2 different employers in my 1st year of opt. I am very much confused about this. Could you please provide any references or documents where it says I can work. Are there any legal implications to this? Please let me know.
The OPTnation link says "The cumulative number of hours should be 20 or more in a week", which means one should work for minimum of 20hrs/week combining all employers. But, in the video you said we have to work for minimum of 20hr/week for each employer. Could you please clarify this?
I checked with my university DSO and they said that on F1 OPT one can work for minimum of 20hrs/week combining all employers. It doesn't have to be minimum of 20hr/week for each employer.
Super helpful videos !! Want to know what are good NON_IT, STEM UG programs, which have good salaries and good job prospects/ In demand. e.g may be aeronautical/ Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical.
Thank you. How about CPT? Do you think we need to do CPT? I am an MBA second year and looking for a job outside campus that gave me more opportunity. Thanks
Hi Aishwarya , Thanks for sharing . But I was wondering , If we can do 2 full time on Initial OPT? Like 40 Hours each , so it makes 80 hours between 2 employers .
Aishwarya, really thanks for this video!!! In this case, their will be a conflict in the work experience letter from those multiple companies where you have worked at your initial OPT period right. Then anyone with above scenario, how can they justify this conflict of experiences while they apply for H1B? I'm not aware of this process but really worried what it happens when I apply for my H1B for my future attempts.
@@aishwaryasrinivasan thanks for the swift response! Then what if even the role of the second job matches to my program? Can I still submit my these two conflict experience letters to the concern department to get my H1B approved without issues?
Hi Aishwarya, Thank you for such great information. The optnation link states that On STEM OPT candidate can work for multiple employers but not simultaneously. As a detailed training plan is prepared and executed by every employer who hires F1 STEM OPT candidates, you can work for only one employer at a given point in time. Does that mean candidate can work 40 hours for one employer and 20 hours for other employer in a week with different working hours?
You can share if you like, but it is not needed. There is no issue to work for two organizations. You might just want to make sure they are not having conflict of interest
Will a company be okay if they know their employer is working multiple jobs? Will be there no conflict of interest?
Amazing. This is what I was looking for.
Thanks @Aishwarya, quite insightful!
this was extremely helpful, thank you very much!
One don’t need offer letter to file OPT
Hey Aishwarya, should there be any employer to employer agreement for us to work with both employers?
YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT STEM OPT RULES. For post opt it can be 20hrs combined nd we donot fill i983

Hi, did you find an answer for this question?
Is it the same case with STEM OTP as well? or just OPT EAD (1st year) w/o STEM extension?
Hi Aishwarya- could you pl let me know how you managed to do two jobs? Was there no clash of times? Was it remote or in person?
Will either of my employers get to know I have multiple jobs ? Is there a need to involve legal teams from these employers?

Each OPT should have more than 20hours/ week. When you sign up for a second job, you need to get another OPT

Hey, can you have overlapping times for multiple employers?
not on H1b
can you be self employed?
Can I started a RUclips Channel on post -OPT?
Do you get earnings from your RUclips channel?

Yes you can.
Thanks for sharing Aishwarya, can this be done with H4 EAD as well?
H category is work visa one. I am not sure how exactly that would work. Best is to consult an immigration lawyer on this
Amazing videos mam
Trying to join your mentorship but enable to join
Does this also apply for F1 STEM OPT?
Yes

Your role has to be in your field of education.

Hi @saumyavora3029 Same question for F1 STEM OPT candidates, could they work for multiple employers at the same time? Have you found the answer?
Hi, I had a same question as well. And what about the Tax filing?
How do you file you taxes and 401K ? I'm in the same position.
I had a tax consultant who filed it for me
@@aishwaryasrinivasan did you had multiple 401k ?
@@avinashd5365 No I just had one 401k
