Lauren, That’s a very ignorant statement based on your one time experience. You must be big otherwise, Arabians are more than sufficient size for most slim to medium sized adults. Also, stubbornness in your horse could be traced to either your own failings as a horse owner or your trainer or both. Arabs are high strung horses so they are not suitable for inexperienced riders. Plus they do not tolerate abuse or fools. It’s good that you switched to saddlebreds which are probably better suited for people like you who do not have much experience with Arabs.
@@Lauren-vd4qe. That’s very odd because of all the different breeds I’ve ridden over the years, I’ve never had any problems with Arabs being forward. And I’ve not encountered a stubborn Arabs, as you put it. They are very intelligent and will not tolerate harsh treatment. I’m not saying you are abusive. I’m saying Arabs will not tolerate people who are heavy handed. They require patience and soft hands. At any case, each to his own. I am glad you have found the breed you feel comfortable with. And yes, Arabs are not for big people. They are for slim people in the medium size and height range. I’m 5’11 and I feel quite comfortable riding Arabs.
