Thank you for this video. It made excellent training and the Sydney Wuthering Heights Day 2023 was all the better for it. Could totally hear people in the crowd murmuring “reverse pterodactyl” 😂
This is excellent, thank you! Getting ready for my first ever Wuthering Heights day dance this Saturday and practising this each night this week at home.
Fantastic! This is the best tutorial I’ve seen because you give us the directions for the correct side of the body. I’m going to use this for Wuthering Heights Day in NYC next year (2023) because we don’t have one! Thank you!
Just wanted to say thankyou so much for this tutorial. We followed it for our performance in Daylesford today, first time ever, and in misty mountain air. Your clear instructions and memorable names for the moves gave us all flow and confidence. Best to you!
Excellent instruction. The fact that we don't have to mirror you helps a lot! ANd the way you described the moves makes it easier to remember. Thank you!
you make it look so easy! I've been practicing for the past couple of weeks for this Saturday, but most of the time I've been working on my Cathy red dress :). Thank you!
Joined my first dance in the UK today.... and talked myself through the moves with your amazingly helpful tutorial x thank you most sincerely for this ❤ Tremendous x
Wow you are an amazing teacher.....I've sang this song for friends and family for decades but didn't know the dance well......Until now....I'm going to get practicing right now ❤ Sending appropriation and love from UK
Wow! good job! Thanks for working this out for me. I need to learn this and the video will make it much easier for me. I'm in the neighbourhood of Kate's age and some of those moves are straight out of the late 70's if you were a "jazz ballet" or "modern ballet" dancer. I can remember doing the "Kathy" and 'home' and the double hand "window" move myself pre W.H. song. She often did the "home" move in her early videos, although I call it the "stork" move. I like the descriptive names you gave for the moves, it makes it much easier to learn that way than "put your rt arm up bring left arm to touch..." (for example). The ptedoractyl one threw me for a loop but I love it! "Serve the plates" and "train" genius! Unfortunately my knees won't let me do the "matrix", will just have to modify. Thanks again!
Absolutely Brilliant! I loved this song since the 80s, been finding hidden meanings and secrets about the song and meaning recently that I never knew about, and now the dance you have shown opens up even more hidden meanings for me that I didnt think about before
Brilliant!!! Thank you!! I loved Wuthering Heights, the book and movies. I'm 39 now and 'Stranger Things' has introduced this song to my 15 yr old daughter!! We are learning the dance together for Halloween, and ur tutorial is the best. Very well described dance moves😂 💃And completely unrelated...you kind of remind me of Nicolette Larson✌
This is brilliant! Trying to work it out from watching the video alone can be problematic, but you've got it all down clearly. Thank you! Now I just need to get some interest in getting a MWHDE going somewhere in Los Angeles, where you would think someone would have already organized one.
Thank you SO much for your video! We're finally getting to do it tomorrow at the 2024 Folkestone dance and yours is the best tutorial we've found! I love the descriptions! I've done myself a couple of little 'dance step reminder cards' to take with me, using your fab descriptions!!
YES YES YES THANK YOU, this was the tutorial I've needed. Too late to learn for Wuthering Heights day this year, but I'll be there in Brisbane, Australia , next year 2025 - thanks to this video
I really appreciate this video! I've really enjoyed trying to learn this choreography and you've made it as easy as can be to follow along so thank you very much!
Most know the story but if not it’s good to read a synopsis. The book is well written but really quite sad. It’s amazing that teenage Kate Bush interpreted it into a song (& dance). That’s talent! :)
I've noticed that it only seems to be in her original red dress video that Kate does the window with the palm of her left hand towards her face: in her other performances on RUclips, like her Efterling special, her live performance in Manchester in 1979 and even in her UK music video in the white dress, she uses both hands palm outwards to press on the window. Just makes me wonder about why she chose to do it differently in her red dress video, which has become THE iconic version of her dance...
It seems to me that the point (and the joy) is not to imitate someone else's movements but to truly FEEL and receive inside the depth of the music/sound, and let it move you in whatever way is true to YOUR OWN unique essence. To feel the way the movemnt of sound/harmonies creates certain shapes in space, and how this takes form inside of you.. How temporality (musical notes and the intervals between them) takes shape in space.. In other words, to let life flow through me and be expressed through my own unique flavour
"Reverse pterodactyl" absolutely dying over here... Thank you.
❤❤ whoo!
Never look it up in the urban dictionary ;)
it's a classic
I think I'm going to learn this as a work out routine.
I'm a middle aged guy, and you've made me believe I can do it. I'm not sure my friends would agree that this is a good thing however.
I believe in you!
What a fun idea for a tutorial! And your descriptions of the moves are hilarious 😂
Me too! So much fun.
I love this dance so much you have no idea I be doing the “Heathcliff its me I’m cathy” out of nowhere 😭😂
Fantastic! This is the best tutorial I’ve seen because you give us the directions for the correct side of the body. I’m going to use this for Wuthering Heights Day in NYC next year (2023) because we don’t have one! Thank you!
Hit me with an invite
Where in NYC is this gonna be? Do you have an event page or link?
@@devyani347 no details yet. Hoping it’ll be Central Park but it’s kind of a long time away.
@@selecttoursnyc7787 Awesome. I'll keep an eye out for info.
the warmth in me hearth when she says "it's me cathy"
The best part? The phrase " dance like a goober" in the description. Nobody seems to have picked up on that.
You're welcome 😊
Not sure how I ended up in this video but that made me happy LOL!
specially for the part "its me Cathy I've come home". Such beautiful movements
Wonderful breakdown of the iconic Kate Bush dance video.
Now it makes so much more sense...what a wonderful organic flowing choreography to a wonderful song !!!😇
Just wanted to say thankyou so much for this tutorial. We followed it for our performance in Daylesford today, first time ever, and in misty mountain air. Your clear instructions and memorable names for the moves gave us all flow and confidence. Best to you!
Bravo. Thank you from South Australia 🌷
Excellent instruction. The fact that we don't have to mirror you helps a lot! ANd the way you described the moves makes it easier to remember. Thank you!
This sparks joy!
Best tutorial on this I found so far! Easy to follow and I love your descriptions! Thank you! ❤
you make it look so easy! I've been practicing for the past couple of weeks for this Saturday, but most of the time I've been working on my Cathy red dress :). Thank you!
I hope it went well for you today. 👍🏽

Wow you are an amazing teacher.....I've sang this song for friends and family for decades but didn't know the dance well......Until now....I'm going to get practicing right now ❤ Sending appropriation and love from UK
Awesome! I love that you said which direction and I'm glad I'm not the only dancer to name moves random things they remind me of lol
I'm so chuffed you said "speed skating" cuz I was thinking the exact same thing!! ❤
You need one of those fluffy furry microphone windshield thingies...
This is adorable. My 2 year old son is obsessed with this song, maybe I'll get him a little red outfit if there's a WH dance day near here.
Thank you for the clear tutorial! Tomorrow ist my first Wuthering Heights day and I'm already enjoying it by practising.

I'm glad you don't live in Japan. Otherwise I could go broke just searching for you. You dance just like her. Great job. Can go to sleep now.

I'm starting to enjoy the tutorial, with your laconic descriptions, more than the original video.
Can't believe I ended up here/watched it all/enjoyed it. Cherry on the top was the descriptions, well done.

Reverse pterodactyl - love it!

This is great.
Giving the different actions easy names to remember is very useful.
Well done, and thanks.
This goes insanely hard. The song is already good but with the dancing comments my god.
Beautiful in every way. Very enjoyable
That was fun.
Very beautiful!!!
Love the dance but my favourite move is the the backwards pterodactyl! 😂
Sorry! That should have been the reverse pterodactyl! 😂
Beautiful! 🎉
