You know, today, I woke up at 6, I felt really weak a few hours after, so I decided to take a nap at 9, then overslept for 6 hours & woke up at 3, missed the first(& favourite) class of the day (which starts at 2), then my 3.30 class got cancelled. And I can't believe I just genuinely overslept and all my motivation got drained out (because I don't have anything at all for the next 3 days). BUT THIS JUST MADE MY DAY BY A LOT \(;A;)/ I wanna cry. Thank you so much~ \(;;A;;)/ Please keep doing this as long as you can, because you practically just saved a student's motivation! \(TAT)/ ILY!!!
The story is quite similar to the Japanese folklore "Princess Kaguya". The princess in here was in a time capsule,instead of a bamboo plant,the parents took care of her as she grew up quickly,literally quick,people flaunt over her,due to her godlike beauty and then gets taken away to the moon,where she rightfully belongs. But in this song,Princess Kaguya left a time capsule to the old man,instead of not giving any.
Ive heard this song lots, seen the video plenty, and always thought it reminded me of okami with the bamboo girl. but then i saw the name kaguya on the door
It's a classic Japanese folktales called "The Tale of Princess Kaguya" Once there was an old bamboo cutter who had always wanted children but was too old to have any. One day while in the forest he saw a glowing bamboo and so he cut it open to find a baby inside. He hurried and brought her home to his wife and they named her "Kaguya Hime" which means Princess Kaguya. Then the bamboo cutter went to the forest again and found bamboo with things like fancy clothes and money and he decided these were gifts from the gods and built Kaguya a palace. When Kaguya was old enough she started getting lots of suitors but knew they were only interested in her beauty so she sent them on impossible quests like to bring her the hide of animals that didn't exist or treasures they could never obtain. The suitors sometimes tried to trick her but she was too smart for them and always found a way out. (The rest of the story doesn't fit so I'll put it separate.)
Kaguya then remembered that she was actaully an alien being from the moon and the people of the moon who saw she was unhappy on this planet came and took her away. Her parents were then left very sad because they're daughter was taken from them and they got too caught up in themselves and being rich to notice she was unhappy. In this version of the story though it seems that she always knew she was from the moon. It's sad because they always just wanted her to be happy...

Kaguya is in Okami yes, but she is not from Okami specifically, the story of Princess Kaguya is an old Japanese story.
