I have been watching your videos and techniques for a few months now. OUTSTSANDING JOB. I have NEVER painted a bait in my life and I have invested over $1500.00 in painting supplies to start painting my own baits. I visited Brotherhood of Custom Crankbait Painting and hope to gain more knowledge. Thank you for what you do in helping out NEWBIES like myself learn how to paint Lures. I fish 4-5 times a week. Have over $3,000 invested in crankbaits, and thought it would be rewarding to catch a HUGE BASS on the bait that I painted.
I'm new to Lure Painting and I LOVE hanging out with you. I have learned so much from you. I watch your Videos over and over. Everytime I watch the same Video over again I pick something that I've missed. I live in Alabama and Crawfish are Bama Bass number one meal. I have got to learn this pattern. I just got a set of Crawfish Stencils from Russ, they are awesome. Thanks my Mentor !!!..
Jan, I searched far and wide for a tutorial from you on this very subject. Thank you for this. I have been in awe of your craw patterns for some time. Now I'm headed for the shop to work on a stencil for a500 series and 600 series Bomber. I have several that need to be "re-purposed'. Thanks again, and the search was well worth it. David Sullivan
I want to say, thank you for the tips! This hobby, I have found, is full of people willing to help and teach others. The group you mention Brotherhood of custom crank bait painters is an outstanding group on facebook. I hope one day I am of the quality in painting so I too can help others.
My favorite so far. I'm glad you showed how to fix goof ups. And I just bought one of the craw stencils frome insane yesterday because my diy ones weren't working for me. So awesome timing. Thanks
I noticed the actual picture of the craw fish you was showing was Green. Do you ever paint craw fish with green and a lite brown./ yellow on bottom.. great job and thanks
These look awesome, you answered a couple of the questions/issues ive been running into lately since i have been wanting to speed up the time it takes to paint multiple baits at once. beautiful looking cranks!
@@Jekyll424 Awesome. Thanks. Just trying to do some 1.5s for my friend on lake Keowee in spring craws and a blueback herring for lake Hartwell. Thanks for the help.
Try mallet photo printing paper or clear binder folder plastic let me know what you think as far as stencils... I love your Channel you're such a great teacher... I've been in this for awhile but I always learn something new from you... keep spreading the love and thank you
zog noty are you that ignorant??? I'm pretty sure if he asked her she loves teaching her skills and knowledge in airbrush... That's what spreading love means... and what are you talking about German videos lol
Thanks for video, watched a few times, I am curious as to how you cut and made the stincel. I am doing my first one and trust me, if I could cut it wrong... thanks
Jan, would it be possible to get a photo of the stencil you used for this pattern? I have made several stencils and not quite come with one that works as well for me. Would you consider making a tutorial? You know, in all the spare time you have. 🙂
Could u make a video thats shows how to correct mistakes and how to apply templates im really strugglin with that im watching all kinds of videos but seems to me im not doing the right thing love your work btw thats why im asking u
could you please tell me what colors you use on those baits? Ive been wanting to do a few goldfish colors and these look pretty close! thanks for all your informative videos
Hi Mathieu. Hands down the best purchase I ever made is this kit. Comes with everything you need to get the brush unclogged and you painting again! amzn.to/2JTWGGx
I start by adding a few drops of 91% rubbing alcohol to the wired brush, remove the needle and tip and run the brush everywhere it will reach. Then just follow the instructions in the kit to do the rest. It's not always easy to find alcohol that high in percentage at the local stores, and it's important to not leave the alcohol in the chamber of the brush too long before clearing and blowing through. Here's a link for decent alcohol. amzn.to/2tfI61P And going forward, IT'S ALSO EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO CLEAN YOUR BRUCH FREQUENTLY THROUGH OUT EACH USE.

A good topic for it’s own session. Thanks!
@@Jekyll424 hi j,
What number was that stencil you got from anarchy for the crappy pattern, there are three different "blotchy" patterns...
44 or 45 I tgink
Think*
I tried to order from Anarchy and insane and neither would take a visa??? I ordered from kbs, same card and they took it... I was so mad...ughhhh
Love your spray session videos, they help me a lot I am just getting started in the airbrush world of lures lol
Oh I forgot to ask what size needle you use?
Mostly .5 and .35 for an Iwata Eclipse
Thanks for watching. Glad I could help
Just bought a Iwanta Eclipse airbrush, and Sparmax TC-2000 compressor, what air pressure should I start with?
Base layers between 20-30 psi, detail as low as you can without spattering and clogging… try 10-15 psi

Yes. I will definitely make a vid for you
Luv your videos!!! You have any quick tips on masking the bills
I use inexpensive masking tape to cover. Some use cellophane but I don’t think it gives as tight of a seal on the corners near the body
I have a 3d printer but am unfamiliar with what you mentioned about stencils you make with them. Do you have any resources?
There are resources throughout, Insane Custom Stencils, Anarchy Model UK, Artools by Iwata, and many more on Amazon. I have links in the description
I know this is an Older video but What is the most common size Treble hook you use for 2in lippless crank baits
#4 short shank VMC
Awesome job. Would love to see a detailed shop tour.
I’ll add it to the “to do” list! 😉
Mine next hand made crankbait will be painted in the craw fish pattern 💥
So nice ! Great job ! I follow you since France !
Mercí!

+Jekyll424 thank you so much. you are the best
I have seen some air brush artist put a little foam block on the trigger why is that done? I have long fingers maybe for comfort?
Maybe. I can’t really say, never seen it done. Hmmm 🤔
ruclips.net/video/e_odjK3ZLKo/видео.html here is an artist that has done it
