- Comcast is currently in the process of moving all analog channels to a digital delivery platform, and they have been doing it in phases since May 24 in the area, Comcast officials said. A TV in the News & Messenger's Manassas newsroom hooked up to Comcast without a cable box can only receive 17 channels -- the majority of them being local broadcast and public access outlets.
I used to use analog cable as a child. It was part of the Daewoo VCR channel tuner, and it was actually very convenient. Though for me, the signals for non-local broadcast stations turned off their signals just before the June 12th, 2009 DTV switchover. I can't recall when the local broadcast stations had their analog cable signals turned off, but I know it was soon after.
I miss the old days of cable.
I miss Analog Cable, you used to be able to split the feed as many times as you wanted too
Wow, a lot of channels used the DTV reminder from the cable company.

This was unnecessary, but it was done because those boxes are a juicy business.

I still use coaxial for my television, though I need a converter box. I have had one since 2017. My connection is slightly scrambled, though the antenna does not have a short in the wire and can connect. I currently have the last VCR my parents bought brand new (a Daewoo) at Target in July 2002. The VCR's last daily use happened in March 2014. I still use the device to play tapes here and there. With the VCR on, there is more interference on my TV but this does not make the antenna or connection totally unreliable. Two buttons on the VCR don't work anymore (power and channel up), though the remote buttons still work. docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Nrex3rXQ0L-Kv113WqA0AP6gURjy0DhvkhJF3KBn2Ck
