8 years later. We don't know what is going on with this oil so far the only ones benefiting are a few government officials, mind you we still import oil.

Africa oil is changing the landscape of international and financial global policy in this decade. There has to be a strong oversight on the issue of transparency in each country with vast amounts of crude oil.The people within each country must be able to go on line and find easy access how much monetary payments and also sales of the country's national resources. This should be made an international law for all to see.So there will be no problem with corruption.

Ian Gary says to watch how much money goes to the government and to hold the government accountable for directing funds toward improving the lives of people.

The inverviewer does such a fine job of asking questions that illuminate opportunity and realistic expectations. The interviewee does a fine job of answering questions directly. He says that oil development may not mean jobs and wealth for everyone (due to lack of skills or education), but the people can hold their government to account to make sure that the money generated actually goes toward improving the lives of the whole community.
