I'd love to own one of these amps. People can say what they want about RM italy amps but I love my 203's and my 503. I have tube amps but 75% of the time I use the transistor amps. As long as they aren't over driven and low pass filter installed, they are clean and work great.
yes they feed back circuit is there. if you look on the sides of the field effect transistors there is a small trace going from input transformer over to a resistor and capacitor then the output transformer. What do these amps look like on a spectrum analyzer with a 200mhz sweep on SSB and 2 tones injected?
Definitely heavier ga wiring. I upgraded it to 1/0. Not that it needed it, just happened to be what I had. Best mobile amp I've ever run! Thanks again.

Thank you, gonna put one back in the mobile and run it for a while. If all is good then probably will get a 16. The only thing I'm personally worried about is the SMT components. If one goes bad I'll have to send it out for repair as that stuff is small. I also just realized these don't have a remote jack, so that's probably some of the extra wiring in yours. I'm going to have to see if I can add a remote jack to these.
I can hear your fan slowing down when the amp is keyed. You should at least put a car audio supercapacitor in parallel with your power supply to kelp that supplies deliver peak power on modulation. A tip. keep that capacitor as close as possible to the amp. -73 Ella
The Megawatt is just for the bench, but you're correct that I could add another. I have a 150 and 250 supply for the equipment I run. I believe they are class AB since they are automatic SSB. I know they are very clean amps.
Where did you order your 9530's from? I need 4 to go in a Palomar 450 HD. Original it came with 7530 I think , ill have to look. But it blew 2 of them and I said what the heck and put 2 used 9530's in it and it works. 260 watts out of a miss matched mosfets thats says a lot. Love to have one of those boxes.
Never hooked up to a spectrum analyzer, these are great little amps. I've had one in my truck for a couple years and it performs excellent. The builder told me they were not going to produce anymore of these.

Really? wow, you guys are in the dark ages, I've got nearly 5KW PEP with 1W drive and it's all MOSFET, those bipolar amps are just antique junk these days.
I don't like the splitter/combiner setup. I don't like where the power is terminated. It should be in between the final 8 outputs. I don't like the rf traces going on the board under the output transformers. I don't like the high low switch. Something else to break. If you need high or low, adjust the power at the source . I would like to see what it does on a bird 43 without the peak reading kit. Swing 900 on a 43 without the peak reading kit, and I might be impressed. I build boxes, too. Channel 6 boxes.
All I can tell you is these little amps are solid work horses and run excellent. Never had a problem with them and they put out good clean power. I was anti mosfet until I used these. Totally changed my mind.
Not for this builder. There's another guy who builds mosfet amps and he has a website. Rocket box amps out of Las Vegas. You may want to check him out. As far a regular transistor amps, there are several guys building them. Just Google or FB it. Off the top of my head, Carl built, Donkey stomper, fat cat/alley cat, fat boy, plus a bunch more.

I ordered a 250 amp alternator and upgraded the battery to alternator wire to 4 AWG in the mobile. Thanks for the advice, it's appreciated.

Most linear amps use MOSFETs; 2SC2879s are the most popular. Their SOT-123 case handles heat better than others, like the TO-3PN type.
