The "walking down the street" video is a take on The Verves "Bitter sweet symphony". A great song to take a look at and maybe compare the two so you can see the satirical aspect of "Vindaloo" - England's football anthem
England national team song before the World Cup in France 1998... So many cultural references that I imagine would go way over your head if you aren't from here. Gives me goosebumps. A new version of this song with Paddy McGuinness and Danny Dyer is going to be released this summer for the Euros... I'd recommend 'Three Lions 98' and 'World in Motion' as well
This tune is what we’re all about..Have a laugh and don’t things too seriously and also join in and sing along.!…Oh,and get a vindaloo down ya.!..All the best🇬🇧🇺🇸👍
A real emotion stirrer to say it’s a comedic song, if it hadn’t been for the perfect football anthem in three lions being pitted against it this would have been number 1 in the charts. But unlike three lions this doesn’t age itself beyond a few subtle nods to France (where the World Cup was that year) and can work for any tournament. Three lions provided the ultimate crowd chant of ‘it’s coming home’ but as a song it references within the lyrics very specific things that places it in the year it was released… which is why they did a second version two years later 😂 For euro 2020 it seems sweet Caroline is joining the ranks for English fans to sing, which is great

Brilliant song. But I always wondered, why was a Welshman singing an England football ‘anthem’??? I think Keith Allen was a real football fanatic. His boy Alfie did a documentary on the history of football. An underrated actor. Loved him as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood.
Pretty sure Fat Les only did one other song (and it wasn't very good). As several people have mentioned, half of Fat Les was Keith Allen (Lilyand Alfie Allen's father) the other half was Alex James, bass player with Blur (who doesn't appear in the video for some reason)
