Lower than your old apartment to be exact

That feels like a joke but feels like an important motif in the pen and paper games along with the video game. You may level up, you may be more comfortable, but you don't fix Night City, you just exist a bit better while in it

True unless you deal him my players because they chose to nuke the entire city not joking the basically stole an arasaka nuke and a militeck nuke detonated both while disguised as members of both companies and restarted the corp wars all because "it was getting a little too chummy around here" and "give war a chance" it wasn't until that session ended that I realized all of their characters were named after metal gear villains but in my defense I was too busy laughing at what I thought were stupid names to recognize sunny downs ms.trial sam uri and maine soone

I don’t wanna live where David and Lucy used to live. That’s like living in someone’s tomb.
... You know if you think about it, someone has 100% died in every room you see in Night City. Things are way too violent for that not to be true.
In night city any apartment is likely to be someones tomb
They didn't die there lmao. It's like living in an old house. Someone used to be there, but they moved on

You know people constantly do this in the real world right? We don't just build new houses for people to move into.
There's actually a secret data shard of a spicy convo between David and Lucy. I won't reveal much but at the end david goes "AAAAAAH IM GONNA CHROME"

V has a great apartment honestly. Didn't want to make the Dystopia hit too close to home I guess. It's like watching Friends.
The cozy first apartment was a mistake.
@@fabricliverthe other apartments are DLC that was added a couple years after release
I mean, to be fair, it is like half a year after whatever start of the story you picked kicked off, and V was doing jobs for some big tippers like Padre, Wakako, and everyone in between so it's not like V was starting off with nothing, he just happened to have the right connections
I wish you could use this apartment after the Sun ending doe.
omg its the silly dude from GTA 4
I think the whole point was V could see it from his window and it was the "Big Leagues" and in the sun ending you basically make it but ofc go on a mission
well there is a mod for that
@@tttobi- As a console player, mods can't fix everything.

I just wish it was easier to get to it. You should be able buy it after you've finished that ending.
Yeah, it would have been great to get it as a purchase option if you've unlocked it through playing "The Sun" ending once and then start a new game or something. A shame CDPR never considered that option.
Now apparently there are mods that make this appartment available but it just doesn't feel right and should have been something ingame itself so that future V's could buy it.
@@DanakarEndeel It's possible they did actually consider it, the game was fairly rushed even if it's been in development for a couple years. Corporate greed knows no boundaries
@@DefinitelyFroggyDioBrando Yeah, that's entirely possible. There are quite a number of things in Cyberpunk 2077 that made me go "wish they had added this" like for example when they made those weaponized vehicles available they did not include the Delamain; even though that one is also equipped with a visible rocket launcher in the trunk. A real shame they did not do anything with that.
Ah well, at least I'm glad they added/changed/fixed so much stuff for the base game in 2.0 and I'm also very happy with what we got with Phantom Liberty. 🙂
But yeah, the appartment could have been a great addition if you unlocked it during a previous playthrough and then would be able to purchase it from that ingame EZEstates website during subsequent games. Kinda like some type of NewGame+ bonus or something.
@@DanakarEndeel God yeah a new game+ would've been cool. Imagine an actually threatening Adam smasher

this is the first time I'm hearing Lucy's last name I don't think I ever knew what it was until now
You'd be surprised that Lucy isn't even her full name, her full name is Lucyna
Yeah, I've wanted that apartment so much. The fact it's locked behind a ending that only lets you use it temporarily felt like the biggest slap in the face
If you're on PC, there's a mod that lets you buy it early (but a lot of the stuff that's tied to the ending is disabled until you get to that ending). IIRC it's called "V's Edgerunners Mansion".
@@MCOmegaX123 gonna have to get a pc. On PS5 for now
It actually isn't the exact same apartment. It's the same layout, but in a different location.
When David is going up the elevator in Episode 7, just before we see him in the apartment, You can see the background with the moon that is identical to the view from Lucy's apartment. Meaning David's and Lucy's penthouse also has to be in Japantown
It is the same appartment but Trigger took some creative liberties throughout the Edgerunners series. For example the door leading to Lucy's original appartment door is actually the fire escape in Judy's appartment block. 🤣
So this is the real appartment but Trigger changed the exterior scenery.
@@DanakarEndeel why they can afford this apartment? who this apt belings to?
@@nessnake123 Hmmm... When David and Lucy moved into that appartment it was halfway through the series after David and crew were very successful; so they likely had a ton of Eddies to throw around.
In Cyberpunk 2077 the appartment apparently belonged to Corpo V (back when they were the right hand of the 2nd in command at Arasaka Counterintel); so I'm guessing it became available shortly after the end of Edgerunners after the crew had fallen apart.
As to who the appartment belongs to, I'm guessing some kind of rich landlord or corporation that deals in luxury appartments. So I guess anyone could move in as long as they can pay the rent.🙂
@@DanakarEndeel good explanation, i didnt remember david made a lot of money, i have to watch it again.
@@nessnake123 Yeah, I think it was Episode 6 (or 7) just after he got all buffed up and had taken the reigns after Maine died. Seems his crew was often contacted by fixers so it makes sense that they suddenly could afford better accomodations. He even commented to Lucy that a trip to moon was "cheaper than expected" when it was 'only' 250.000 Eddies or something. 🙂
Only thing that always struck me as strange was that the other crewmembers kept living in their old crappy appartments LOL.
Still, I really enjoyed that anime. Definitely nice too how Trigger Studios tied things so neatly into the game (albeit with some creative liberties). Just made it very cool imo that we could actually visit most of those locations ourselves in the game afterwards.
I remember I reached the penthouse when Cyberpunk first came out. You had to do a shit ton of parkour to reach it
"Wow, I've come so far, a whole building away!"
the whole message of cyberpunk is that youll never tuly go very far unless you have a headstart (execs) or youre the one in a million who made it out. It looks like youve made it far, gone up the social ladder, been successful, but in the end all that effort was only worth so little distance. You arent supposed to get out of the belly of nigth city, its designed to consume you and keep you trapped no matter how hard you try to claw your way out
This is so wicked. This game will never stop amazeing me
Real OGs know there was a glitch to get there whenever you want
Well it’s not the exact same apartment that David and Lucy were in, since theirs has the same view of the spaceport that her initial one did, but it is the apartment the animators used for David and Lucy’s rich life one.
Finally somebody that knows the facts
"how far you've come" less than one city block
hey in this universe, one city block can be a tremendous change in wealth. Look at Heywood 😅😅
_I mean, it's just them reusing interiors for the anime and to appeal to people who had played the game before, pretty sure V's first apartment gets used as David's first apartment, as well as Judy's becoming Lucy's apartment._
bro its too late, you came back, and you know you’re gonna rewatch the entire show
AHHH GET OUTTA MY HEAAAAD
Seems like that apartment’s cursed. Everyone who’s lived in it has either died or suffered a horrible tragedy.
A stark reminder of how far you've come.
..... you moved 30 feet to the right
Is your 2x5 bedroom in LA bugs bunny’s burrow at six flags 😂
Bugs' burrow is far more luxurious than any apartment in LA, seeing as he's never stepped on a used needle or a pile of human feces outside his door.
“See how far you come”. Tragically, that infers not very far
Man I've only recently found Ian's channel and it is the best cyberpunk channel I've seen in a while. Your awesome choom!
All that effort to move to the other side of the same block lol
V: We made it to the big Leagues Jackie, I can't believe we made it!
Jackie: Hermano, you just crossed the street.
Who made it their personal reason to re-play CP2077 to find any if not all locations from Edge Runners? Can't just be me.
Also seeing Davids drink hit hard. Theorize all you want but David is DEAD. Smasher gave him an option to carry on as a construct out of that tiny bit of respect David scored on him, but David flipped him off like a chad choom he was. No matter what Arasaka planned, Smasher is known to prioritize his own goals and grievances over Arasaka's orders. Also he wouldn't let some Punk mouth him off.
Crazy how David was able to afford that place at only 18
Love it when a penthouse gets built within a stones throw of the projects and ghetto duplexes.
Bro I've used a glitch to get up there a few times to explore it but I never noticed that it was the model of Lucy and David's thats doooooe
Honestly, Im glad giving this game a chance. I really enjoyed the show and I knew the game was infamous because of it's release, but boy do they get back on deliver! def one of my fav game.
"How far you've come". What is that like 50 yards away?
V's OG apartment was lowkey a vibe tho. It was snug and cozy and actually felt like someplace a low down merc could call home.
i feel like audiences didn't appreciate Cyberpunk 2077 enough because small details like this aren't pointed out by the game or devs
y'gotta look for it yourself, and when you do it's breathtaking
It hurts though after watching Edgerunners that basically David and Lucy used to sleep in that same apartment. Since by the time 2077 comes around David’s been dead for about a year while Lucy just kind of vanished on the moon, never to be heard from again after basically violently losing her entire crew. Nobody truly knows what happened to her. Some say she went on to live her life on the moon. Others say she died shortly after the end of edgerunners. Feels tragic.
So V moves into Gloria's apartment right after David dies, then buys David's house.
No, they lived in Megabuilding H4. Not H10
I discovered this literally three days ago when I played cyberpunk for the second time. I was baffled😮
Ayyy no way you’re from LA! I’ve been watching your videos for a minute and love all your cyberpunk content, greatest game of its time
"How far you've come" which is not far at all.
When my guy friend was gonna die is when I stopped playing
The music is great, good on you for shouting out the artists at the end
Idk man, if I make it big I don’t wanna live across the street of where I struggled.
No way those two used to live there. It's not "the truth" because there is no definitive proof that they lived there before. It's either an easter egg or it's a similar penthouse to solidifying David as a successful Edgerunner, like V.
It's an interesting idea that you've gone so far but so much as stayed the same. Sure you're more powerful but at what cost, are you just like everyone else in Night City, a rat on a wheel, you've just got a better wheel now.
I love Cyberpunk for this kind of thing.
Hod damn this game. It’s literally the best game I’ve ever played in my life. The proof is me being sad and depressed for almost a
Week after the ending. It’s the most emissive game I’ve ever experienced
Immersive* fuck!
Wow. All the times I’ve looked out that window and never noticed it 😮
Edrunners finished me :(
Yeah. I still click the YT videos about Easter Eggs or whatever and tear up every time. Such a perfect show.
Same. Only watched it a few days ago and I'm still sad about it :(.
Not me. Call me fucked up, but Edge Runners felt like a G rated Disney movie to me. Why?! 8 words… I Have Mo Mouth And I Must Scream. That story is pitch black, & I dare you to read it. There are things far more scarier than death…
I remember using the double dash to get out of bounds and into that house early in the game and I still never made the symbolic connection that both have a view at each other :D
It is not the big leagues. It is just next door and in the same slims. I noticed it the first time I looked out the window. Found it funny that it was in one of the endings. Then I recognized it in the anime 2 years later, All canon says Rogue lived in her Bars, never in a penthouse.
Adding music to playlist 🔥
Hell yeah! Thanks man :)

Dude the 2x5 bedroom in LA made me ☠️ I can relate I live in North LA
The animation studio used game screenshot references to create the background in the show. It made the job easier and kept the design consistent with the game. You can find most, if not all, locations in the game.
"A reminder of how far you've come" About...Oh people have already said this..
Well I genuinely think there was far more potential in the cyberpunk game, wish they'd glow up harder in cyberpunk development
Well, it's not the same apartment. Totally different view from both of them. Layout wise, it is the same, though. Lucy and Davids maintained the view over the spaceport that Lucy's old apartment did. It would stand to reason that there would be multiple of these penthouses around all constructed the same way.
Becoming chief fixer AND owner of the Afterlife on top of being the top merc is a hell of a thing, even if it's only 6 months.
So Lucy and David had V's appartent put into Edgerunners, and Johnny got an NPC Lucy in The Star ending.
To me it's kinda Ironic. The Sun, life moves on and nobody really thinks twice about what came before. The Star though... Two people who's lives will never be the same without their best friends beside them, and it shows.
So that means potentially while edgrunners neared it’s end, I showed up as some rando just a few meters away from the story
I bought the suite for like 100k and moved as soon as I could - I’ve been smashing the side missions not really focussed on the main story yet
I just realized that since edgerunners happens just a few months before 2077 there is a chance that V was actually living in the apartment and could see David and Lucy out the window
It stated V wasn't in night city while edgerunners took place.
@@TheKingSoto1 Yeah ik but I don't think there was a specified date was there? I'd still argue there may have been some overlap.
When reality is so distopic that the "cheap" apparemment in a dystopic town is better then your actual place 😅
i still feel sad whenever edgerunners is talked about. i miss you lucy and david
Hmm I didn't know Lucy was Japanese, either way my personal favorite ending will always be the nomad ending where you escape NC with Panam and say goodbye to the past that haunts you it's bloody poetry
I still remember the day I noticed that the mansion was there outside the window
I was mindblown: "WAIT! THE MANSION IS HERE? WOW"
Isn’t the first apartment V has the exact apartment David lived in with his mom already?
Yeah but you loose your love interest by choosing that ending
“Remember………….THE GAME IS FUCKED”
What is the song????
Yes please! What’s the song name?
Burn it down (feat Linn Cervell)
It is possible with double jump to get out of bounds in the megablock building and jump to the mansion building, but it is impossible to enter. As for edge runners, the interior is identical, but the location based on the view from the window appears to be very high in the Japantown skyscrapers facing the downtown area of Night City.
Love your content. This is another banger!
How could i miss this? Such a beautiful detail
I remember when people figured out how to get there day 1 and everyone thought it was dlc
What a shame and lost this crib, house can't be buy it, seriously
You make it to the major leagues, but without your best choom, it's not worth it....R.I.P Jackie
Right? Take me back to the small leagues….
Best secrets a game can have for so long time
You can actually parkour yourself there immediately after getting the double jump and get inside the apartment above the one you get to yourself later. Funnily enough thr upper aparment is just copy of the lower one just with way less detail. Sadly the actualy penthouse you get later is not accessible this way.
Omg I remember when everything in the game was not a reference to the anime that came out after the game and references the game
Oh I've been looking and I've been noticing and I realized that yes they left that behind if you watch the video that is one of the things they leave behind in the game
Heuheu, i realised that on my first playthrough.
Hahaha hell yeah a guy who gets it. Thanks for watching!
Damn I hope one day there would be a live action soma series or animation or a movie.
i’m so glad i realized this before anybody else, even climbed there to confirm and i posted it on reddit just to get subsequently downvoted lol
It’s not a reminder of how far you’ve come. It’s meant to be a reminder of how much you’ve accomplished and yet far you’ve come is just the next building over and to make it worse you’re lower down low like you should be during most endings
I jumped there with reinforced tendons, the doors were closed but i got into an unfinished top floor
Dont fear the reaper ending😤
Or a realization that it’s all relative
That is a nice homage they must have paid in the Anime.
When I heard V I had a flashback about V but from Devil May Cry 5
Good video brother 👍🏻
It’s not the exact same apartment, it is however the same prefab apartment layout.
I wish you could still buy it even if you don’t choose that ending
Didn't know about this ending 😅I know what I'm doing after work 😂
You used to be able to get into it early by climbing the elevator and other buildings. It was removed after like the 3rd or 4th patch if I remember correctly
God I wanna love in the cyber punk universe , that game and the edge runners show is just 10/10
I wish the clipping out of bounds way of getting to the mansion without ending the game still existed.
I had to FIGHT with friends about this. They still don't believe me
