When I was a kid and way before I knew about the smash scene and any knowledge of melee I used to play a lot with my cousins in free for all. One or my cousins only knew one move and that was forward smash with Mario and he used it every time I tired to get back on stage because I couldn't sweet spot the ledge with Luigi. After a whole afternoon of playing with my cousin I ended up throwing the controller to his face lol. He forgive me and we laugh about it all the time but I was so salty.
Brandon is kinda right though. If plup had hugged leffen after that missed ledge dash it would've been hilarious. I haven't finished this yet but I hope wobbles punching a hole through the summit wall is on here that one is a classic.

Something to note about the DP vs Nintendude saga is that DP, whilst not showing that much salt in a physical way, most definitely liked to trash talk after each set to let his salt / frustration out. I think the most well-known remark was "I don't shake hands with bad players"...after losing to NTD once again. Nothing too crazy but DP surely was the salty one in that rivalry. Also let's go Waff, talk to 'em. GG definitely should come up with a Pantheon category in which we can crown Waff's commentary improv whilst playing against HBox, love that video.

I went to a PM local around 2016 and saw a Game and Watch player spike his controller while it was still connected taking the Wii with it. Changed the whole vibe of that retro game store REAL quick.
I wish I could find a way to make HMW more money man. That guy is an OG in the smash community. He also held it down during Covid with online tournaments. Easily one of my favorite people in smash but I never watch his streams just because I never really watch twitch anymore.
Idk how often they take suggestions from the chat, but I’d love to see a round robin between the main 4 guardians. Slippi lag may be a problem. So at some event they all go to maybe? It would be dope to see all these guys play.
i feel like the leffen controller ones arent directed at the opponent though, like i dont think the hug had that much to do with it, tbh. leffen actually respects ice and plup, but he was disappointed in himself and, in the case of the plup one, VERY disappointed in his controller. like, that ledgedash? losing the set on that? after he was up? i'd feel that way too lmao, i totally get it. i dont think i would have thrown the controller in the direction of other people but.... i think that kind of rage is more justified than most. like did you see the way he lost that plup set? it's not plup's fault and that's why he's not raging at plup, it's the ledgedash's fault so he's raging at himself, the controller, and melee's mechanics in general haha. in that order, probably

I firmly believe that it's unsportsmanlike to go for the hug as the winner. The guy on the other end just lost, tf are you doing making him stay on stage to hug you? Only the loser should go for the hug if they want.
