Same with my step-mom. When I moved about 6 years ago, her and my dad came over to "help" me pack and by help they meant throw away almost all of the memorabilia I'd collected over the years.
Im so happy for you. Last year I moved into a newly renovated apartment and was fascinated by the functional kitchen (unless you have lives without one, this makes no sense.) Also, it was a major upgrade. I got all granite countertops and all new flooring and lighting and a year later, I still love my home here. I wish you all the happiness that comes with a fresh start. Congratulations on all your hard work to get there!
Honestly it was really nice that you were honest about the daylight thing because if I had a chance to talk to someone that lived wherever I would be living before and I was looking for something specific and you said no there isn't that specific thing than it's a lot easier to just say hey no can we get a different unit versus moving in realizing there's no daylight and having to get out of lease move again etc. I'm glad you were so honest about that

Girl....I don't know how you do it with 2 long haired cats. I have 1 black and white long hair and 1 torti short hair. Their hair was so insane I started shaving the black and white just to cut down on the hair balls everywhere. Props to you! Also the new place looks so nice and big!! I love it.

I'm currently watching this as I unpack at my new place! I completely understand about natural light - my last place had none. The mental boost and no doubt immunity boost from having a place I can air out and natural lighting in is phenomenal! The movers also commented on my books - I have three bookshelves and half my boxes are full of them 😂

your new place is great, very nice and definitely an upgrade! Maybe consider getting new couches to match your new aesthetic, they look pretty dated. Ikea has some inexpensive options that look very sharp! Congrats!

Hi Cassie, Do you have a washer and dryer in your new place? Are you upstairs or downstairs? I love the flat top stove top. So easy to clean. Don’t ever put a dish from the oven on top of it though because it could crack it. It happened to my parents stovetop many years ago. They may be better made nowadays though. Congratulations. I’m jealous. I wish they had nice, affordable apartments like that here in California.
