You know, I've thought a lot about Jonathan Winters and one thing that always endeared him to me is his various characters actually ring completely true to the American scene. I always thought so many of his characters sound like people you would hear on local radio stations if you were driving across the midwest. One reason it's so funny is it's so true. And I can't think of a single other comedian for which that could be said. It's truly genius.
Yes when you see and hear guys like Jonathan Winters and Dean Martin, you are back in the good old days when there were good comedians and actors. Nowadays show people are really bad in comparison, thats for sure.
