I think there are no perfect parents, but great ones, for me at least, means: whenever they weren't good, they knew that, and made efforts to be better -- or the things we think as bad from them now are something that we laugh about and tell to our friends. Like my mom grabbing 1 of her slippers signaling that she would hit me when I screw up, never hit me, never came near me with the slipper in had even, was her 'idiom' to signal me to my room hahaha (to be honest, half of the time I made her angry just to see her limping with 1 slipper on)
On the second time, I would've immediately told this guy no. It doesn't take rocket science to know what he was up to, and the fact you as well as the other employees were warned about this guy was definitely a sign of how that day was gonna go down.
Guy in the first story should have had charges put on him for vandalism every time he decided to purposely hit the sweeping arm. They most likely have cameras and could prove what he was doing in court, then ban him for life.
First story, I would have confronted him at the entrance and say to him "You're barred from being in here until you pay for the damages and that GOES for league night too!"
This fuckwad deserves *far worse* than to be banned from the bowling alley. I don't know what would've been worse, but given what he did, he should've been not allowed ever again to visit this, or any other bowling alley in town.

If anything, she seems a bit too nice and is clearly being used by the cousin/aunt. They are clearly the selfish ones, and good at gaslighting and manipulation too. Hopefully the OP never has to deal with them again, they dont need them in their lives, especially with how poorly the majority of their family was. Story 4: He wants a one-year break after seven years??? Hes either extremely insecure, or is he up to some very shady stuff on the side. Anyone who wants a break or split because they want to "find themselves" use it a cop out to bad things, generally unfaithfulness.

It isn’t fair to ask someone to put their life on hold for an entire year to wait for them. If they wait just to find out the other person moved on that would be devastating. Besides if OP has so little trust in him to begin with that’s a red flag signaling they should not be together.

Its sounds like its one of those situations where the guy needs a change of scenery to clear his head, if you ask me. Early into me and my fiancés relationship, we went on a month break because she needed to figure things out and we have been together for almost 2 years after that. The guy probably has alot on his plate and he needs a break, not just from his gf, from everything. That being said, he shouldnt expect her to wait for him, but if she truly loved him she would wait for the single year and if he didnt come back, then she would move on.

OP is mentally and emotionally drained by her bf's situation, and he is choosing to leave instead of working things out, or going together to therapy.
