My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed your informative video. The rose engine is such a beautiful tool, especially the Holzapfel lathes. Works of art. Thank you, Veronique in the UK.

I'm a big fan of your channel. It's cool to see someone doing ornamental turning online. It's even better seeing the MDF lathe being used. Thanks for posting this, and all the others.

Thanks so much, PT! Can I assume you're already an OTI member?

I was, years ago. Even went to thier symposium once, but after that activity on their site dropped off quite a bit.

Yeah that's fair. I'm managing their Instagram now, trying to get more folks back into it. Hopefully it'll be a more thriving ecosystem in a couple years

This is fascinating - thank you for the explanation.
Whoever came up with this automation is amazing - from conceptualizing the bump vs cut timing, to the mechanical ability to make it with off-the-shelf parts, to the programming that brings it all together.
I used to work with automation engineers that would geek out on this type of stuff, or kids' robotics, when they werent working on the machines that run our world!

It really is an amazing little machine - I'm so lucky somebody else wrote the software, because this would have taken me about 3 lifetimes to figure out on my own.

This is fantastic! I do decorating on all my bowl bottoms and small ones on sides. This is so much more, would like to have one of those to play with. I use a Sorby spiraling tool. Very interesting channel.

Thanks for watching, Ralph! I've used the Sorby tool a lot, myself - it's a great way to get some texture onto a piece. Thanks for stopping by!
