Hi, I would suggest that you read it according to the volumes cause its a continues story, and will be very confusing if you skip to volume 3 without reading volume 2. Scum Villain is the shortest of the three MXTX novels, it has only 4 volumes so if you do find it interesting you can try buying all 4. And to know the main story you can also watch its donghua with the same name :). If you are still looking for my recommendation Then go with vol-2. Thanks a lot for asking!
