My grandma had amazing biographical memory. She remembered for decades - what happened with different relatives on different days. She is gone now but she had a great life.
Now when she prepares for an exam, she wouldn't forget anything.. Her grades were probably good
Well, there are types of exam which require not just knowledge but also wisdom. But true, most of her exams would've been perfect, with superquick study that is.
Can't really know for sure, strong memory isnt enough to be successful in school. In physics and math memorizing formulas are never enough. You have to recognize patterns and come up with solutions. If it is a unique question you have be creative and find elegant solutions and that purely relies on analytical intelligence. For something that can be memorized, biology for example there are still questions that gets you thinking, solving cause and effect chains. Intelligence and memory power isnt the same thing. You have to have both of them.
I can remember back to 3yrs old, colors, conversations, tastes, time and situations in vivid detail. Loved Marilu Henner in "The Governor's Wife" she plays wicked extremely well plus she is underrated as an Actress.
Is that a blessing or a burden?
Mutale Malama BOTH unfortunately
did you use that skill to learn musical instruments, study hard subjects like programming, computer science, etc?
awesome. I love how they are so genuine. They are both SO BEAUTIFUL
If I was with her, I would remember that day for the rest of my life
I can't remember why I entered the room. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
As it is women never forget anything, but she takes it to a whole new level
So insane!!
I've heard that we might all have that memory tucked away deep in our brain somewhere, but that we just are unable
recall it. The reason some experts think that, is because if we are told what happened on a certain day, most of us remember it. For example , someone might say they can't remember what they did on Christmas 5 years ago, but if someone reminds them about stuff that happened, it triggers their memory and all of a sudden they remember a lot. So it was in their memory all along.
Nah mate doesnt work like that
Well, it has certainly worked that way for me. There are many times I can't remember a thing about something, but then someone reminds me about something to do with it and then it all comes back to me. I would agree that doesn't mean that we have stored memory of every day of our lives like these people. I do think we have a lot of memory stored that we can't access though..
I agree.
I think she is really conscious and focused on the actual date. Because she's associated the date with all of her experiences on that day, she can use the date itself as a "trigger" to pull those memories. Like you said, the rest of us need some other trigger of something we were actually strongly paying attention to at the time in order to recall everything that's related to that time. Most likely she naturally developed an obsessive interest in mentally noting the current date at an early age.
There are a few Christmases I would prefer not to remember.
And here I am forgetting to pick my kids up from school today.
I saw her in Chicago as Roxie Hart after Ann Reinking left the production in 97 or 98. She was excellent. I assume having ‘perfect recall’ makes it easy to memorize lines for acting roles. :)
One of the most beautiful ladies ever
"Once again Queen Latifah is back"
Gifted and still hot!
queen Latifah is one gorgeous woman from the inside out.
I Love Marilu
Wish i had a memory like that too
I have a great deal of respect for both of these fine actresses.
WOW Mary ❤️ so so kewl 👌
I love you and all your intelligence and talent Latifah!!!
this is crazy what a wonderfull women
Unbelievable 😳
I have the opposite of this. 😭
I have LIAF. Lowly Inferior Autobiographical Forgetfulness.
Why is Queen giving her important dates? I can tell you all about my brother's birthday 4 years ago, so anyone can remember the Emmy awards and an earthquake. Just like most adults remember what they were doing on 9/11
She looks like a gift for humankind. She could gave been hired for a research center... aerospace.. nasa... to resolve some of those main problems...
Rain girl
She remembers everything and I forgot to be the tooth fairy last night, had to tell my son that COVID has her all backed up, try again tonight.
Well Mary lou do you remember me ?
As you get older you remember things from fifty years ago but can't remember things that happened a.minute ago. Uhhh now where was I ?
She looks so alike Dr. Phil wife
I wish she would remember to call me.
God it just reminds me how dogshit my memory is. I can barely remember what I ate yesterday
"Women never forget", on steroids. That's amazing!
I would hate to be married to someone with that memory. Or even to have that talent. There are some things in life best forgotten.
Anything serious enough can’t be forgotten
no I would really want this ability
She'd be like, remember when ya had that fetish. Makes a facepalm due to embarrassment hahhaha, but I would've wanted a wife like that. Our offsprings would be genetically superior in a sense than the average joe.
Her genes, I want my offsprings to share some of hers. Reminds me of Kure clan's breeding purposes and genetic cultivation. Kengan Asura/ Kengan Omega
The thing is, we don't know? What did she do on those days? She could make anything up and no one would know!
Exactly... which is why I am skeptical
I think she's very gifted. I wouldn't be surprised if she had an IQ of 140+.
I don't think iq matters and actually anyway her iq would be a lot higher than 140 considering she can remember anything if any stem was her passion she would easily be at the top of her field
M.
Finally I got indian.
Chicken tikka?
It's an ability, not a skill. A skill is something you develop or acquire, she did not train herself to do this.
She said herself it’s both. She has the ability but also had to develop it, she said like a muscle
Помогите, меня держат на уроке инглиша
Get to Los vegas ,go blackjack tables all u have to do remember what cards went before and cash in at least make some money from your gift 🤔💵
She should have worked for the CIA.
Becoming an actress seems like a total waste of such a profound gift.
Cheap tricks!
With such an amazing memory, why didn't she become a legal scholar, the greatest diplomat to ever live, a medical researcher? She wasted her gift on acting, and that career wasn't stellar. I'm not bashing. It's people with intellects like this who are capable of greatness.
Maybe exploiting her skill was not something she was as passionate about as acting.
It doesn't work like that, she has highly superior autobiographical memory not a "super memory" period (aka: in all areas of memory). Meaning: she can remember everything that happened in her entire life like a regular person can remember yesterday but that's where it stops. What it's not is your Dad's TV show's photographic memory or walking talking encyclopedia. Although she is very good at memorizing by her own accord, not everyone with HSAM is, and she's roughly of the same caliber as the average mental athletes in Pi contests, suggesting this part is more likely trained due to her fascination with memory than genetic like HSAM where a part of the brain is significantly enlarged.
Not impressed. The days she remembers something significant happened. That's the way normal memories get stored, how people remember things. "Wedding day 21st of March 1973". Yes, you will remember what you ate for breakfast, yes you will maybe even remember the news that morning and maybe that your morning coffee was not good, probably because your coffee machine was broken. And on and on and on. But remember a random date when nothing special happened. Recall that day. Every step you took, what you ate. That's more difficult, and that would be hyperthymesia. And very, very, very few people possess that ability...
You should look up the piece done by 60 Minutes Australia on people with her ability. She's featured in the segment, and she has actually been rigorously, scientifically tested. She's the real deal.
Look up the clip of her on Bob Costas. I watched it live and it blew me away.'
