Thank you, specifically for showing Small tortoiseshell first flight. The butterfly quivers before first flight takeoff, as also shown in one of my Brimstone videos.
This is the best 10 minutes anyone could ever watch. Well done and thank you so much for the effort it took to record, edit and share this! Awesome work!
Adam, your videos are simply fantastic. I'm also in love with butterflies and I'm happy with your work. Congratulations! All the best to you from Brazil, Marcelo.

Hello Adam, I am always fascinated about the video quality of your macro lens, when filming butterfly eggs and the hatching of the caterpillars. In my video about the same butterfly (see below) I used the CANON Macro Photo lens MP-E 65 mm 1:2,8 1- 5X for filming the hatching of the caterpillars. This lens is very difficult to get in focus. Thanks for sharing, liked your video very much! +Rüdiger Hartmann Dear Rüdiger! Many thanks for watching my new video. I warmly thank you for your letter. I know your films and those already repeatedly watched and admired. I appreciated also your advice given me last year how to find eggs of Aglais urticae. Thanks for this. Following your advice I have found a female laying eggs in nature! It is shown in the begining of the movie. In my practice I use to extreme close-ups Micro Nikkor 55 / 3.5 lens (45 years old!) reversly mounted to bellows PB6. It also gives me a shallow depth of field and this is a big problem when shooting a moving subjects, about whether indeed you well know. Soon I will put a new movie about Araschnia levana. Regards from Krakow! Adam

+Adam Grochowalski Hello Adam, thank you very much for your answer. I always had been thinking that you are using such a lens. I got a similar lens (Zeiss Distagon 50 mm) which can be used in reversed position, but it is adjusted for a format of 6X6 cm, meaning I got a problem to find an adapter. Concerning the videos of Aglais urticae I found your comment in the video:"Kleiner Fuchs an der Brennessel (D • E • ESP)" but not in the video: "The caterpillar of the Small tortoiseshell • Aglais urticae" which is much more detailed and also contains a part where it is shown how the second larval instars behave like a mowing machine. With best regards from the BLACK FOREST Rüdiger
