I was emotional through this whole interview. Hit me right in the heart. Cameron, thank you for speaking out on addiction and standing tall in your truth and your story. There are many of us families who have had to deal with addiction plaguing our family. And the more we bring this out of the shadows and shine a light on it, the less shame there will be. Addiction is a disease and it isn't easy to navigate through for families AND the addict. Continued healing to you and your family, Cameron! So grateful for your voice! Keep on walking your authentic path!

I can't believe how I can really relate to Michael. Being the father of a recovered addict myself I understand fully what Michael and his family have been through. Cameron, I don't know you but I'm so proud of you.
It's so uncanny how when listening to the song, they both move their heads the same and make same facial expressions while doing this interview separately. Addiction targets so many families and it's not the addicts problem, it's a family problem that works best when the family as a whole gets treatment too.

It doesnt matter if he was a Rich kid or a poor boy. That drug doesnt discriminate and it affects more than you even know. Broke my marriage up. Very painful. I hope Cameron is finally finding happiness. He has a beautiful wife and a adorable baby.

I remember parting with Cameron back in the day in Carpinteria & Montecito, but once he started doing cocaine we did not kick it with him anymore, we knew who his father was and tried to talk to him about his addiction, but was not having it. Cameron will always be our local homie in Carpinteria.
Whoever you are, don't give up on family. If addiction or mental illness is present, stay together. That propels healing. I don't think the tough love works. Obviously, we have to take action for our battles, but if family makes it approachable and is behind you, it is much clearer to seek help and power through without more guilt. We aren't here for long, so stick with your family. It is tough but that is what family is all about. Hard times and the good times to come.

God bless you, my sister struggles with staying sober from alcohol, for the past 15 years, she’s been to rehab, it gets really bad where I think I her kids (two are 13 and 17) will call me to give me the bad news of her passing away. I feel so sad for her kids and also for her.
It’s sad that Cameron is doing drugs. He such a talented person.

The pain in their eyes is palpable. Very hard to watch....much more difficult to actually live through.
substance abuse is DNA related. might as well try to change your children's eye color.

One in 250 have the gene that responds differently to opiate drugs. It just takes one time. Most feel sleepy and sick when taking it. The other one gets a magic carpet ride to the moon. People can get addicted to anything like alcohol or even sex, but opiate addiction is very much in the genes. That’s why most are addicted by age 21.
I’m in recovery and I wish I had my dad WHOS dead now cause of drinking but I wish my mother would just say I love u I’m proud of u but nope never i can’t remember the last time she ever said I love u to me
