Ps3 was the nightmare console to get running. Ps4 has been much smoother so far, and progress on bloodborne, aka the most anticipated emulation game of all time has been going so smoothly. Plus ps5 is built on a similar architecture to ps4 and with each generation consoles just become more and more like PCs.

You get something to run and after that it is just working forwards and working out everything, as it lets you test and dev when you get some real feed back in terms of what causes what to crash.
Once you got the pipeline done everything just pours out as the floodgate is broken open. I think by the end of this year much much more PS4 games will be “playable”, not just Bloodbourne
It should be noted that the game doesn't currently run on AMD GPUs, only Nvidia, which is a shame. But the progress in the last week has honestly blown me away

It would also just constantly have Radeon Software failures, and would have driver timeouts constantly- regardless of BIOS version and updates, regardless of whether or not it was running stock profile or custom, regardless of whether Radeon Software was even installed or not. AMD? They *_never_* addressed it or fixed the issue, and it occurred to _multiple_ people who had that card. Switched to an EVGA RTX 3090 and have not regretted it for a single moment. Even went with NVidia for my laptop choice and haven't regretted that either. I appreciate not having to constantly hold my system together with the software-equivalent to _hot glue_ and _popsicle sticks._

The game running at like 10 fps instead of 2 fps without any optimization is great, definitely seems inevitable for the up-res'd 60 fps version to be emulateable much sooner rather than later.
A 60 FPS patch I assume probably could be done, but everything I've seen about emulation says that transforming hitboxes from 30 FPS to 60 FPS is often a hassle because of I think hardcoding. Though, there are so many Fromsoftware games on PC with similar engines that maybe we're equipped with the knowledge to upgrade those frames. Or, the game already comes with a hidden 60 FPS mode that would be easy to enable. I do remember people playing it on special PS4 pros at somewhat unstable 60 FPS.

And the second they ask for donations paints a glowing target on their back for legal attacks.

I just wanna thank everyone at the RCPS3 team. I was able to play MGS4 from start to finish at 4k 60fps. Only think they didn't emulate was the time spent with siblings playing it for the first time.
13:00 The emulator seems to have issues changing light settings for some objects and the lights from a previous object in the scene is reused. Which objects are affected depends on where you're looking at because objects that are off-screen are ignored and some engine order opaque objects from nearest to farthest (opposite on PS1 because no Zbuffer).
looking at the game in this raw state is amazing. the lovely details in the models and the how much personality is in the animations. I know of course it'll all get cleaned up with textures/lighting and all that, still nice to see it in these early stages!
Emulation might be one of the best things ive ever seen come out of the internet as a whole, they do all this work for free purely out of the love for preserving all these amazing titles, nobody cares as much as whoever these faceless legends are that do this, no glory, no fame, no profit, just the knowledge that these games are gonna stick around for generations to come no matter what

Holy shit we're so close to the full experience lets GO! I was just looking at my copy of Bloodborne 2 days ago, and wishing I could play it. See, I own Bloodborne, I've owned it for 5 years, but I've never played it because I don't, and have never owned a PS4.... Yes, I know, I should just buy a PS4, or should have at some point, but I never did. I did borrow my brothers PS4 for a little while, and played through a small part of the game, but he wanted it back and I never borrowed it again. So, this is very exciting for me!

This is all insane progress, considering the fact that a couple months ago that you could only load up the main menu and the character screen didnt work. But I have a feeling that Sony will do a little trolling and announce a bloodborne remaster right when bloodborne works fully on emulators
I've seen people on shad discord running it at 120+ fps with minor dips. Lightning is glitchy, uses a ton of ram and keeps crashing, but it runs. It used to be so much worse with motion blur enabled by default. It keeps progressing. It's awesome.
the fact that the "hard part" in terms of rendering is working how it is today... is absolutely mind blowing. Believe by Q1 2025 we'll have this game polished better than SOTE DLC :D

I just wanna thank everyone at the RCPS3 team. I was able to play MGS4 from start to finish at 4k 60fps. Only think they didn't emulate was the time spent with siblings playing it for the first time.
13:00 The emulator seems to have issues changing light settings for some objects and the lights from a previous object in the scene is reused. Which objects are affected depends on where you're looking at because objects that are off-screen are ignored and some engine order opaque objects from nearest to farthest (opposite on PS1 because no Zbuffer).
1. PS4 has a Z-Buffer
2. We render opaque objects front-to-back to take advantage of Z fail to minimize overdraw time.

looking at the game in this raw state is amazing. the lovely details in the models and the how much personality is in the animations. I know of course it'll all get cleaned up with textures/lighting and all that, still nice to see it in these early stages!
At this rate I hope it'll become truly playable sooner rather than later, that's some great progress

Emulation might be one of the best things ive ever seen come out of the internet as a whole, they do all this work for free purely out of the love for preserving all these amazing titles, nobody cares as much as whoever these faceless legends are that do this, no glory, no fame, no profit, just the knowledge that these games are gonna stick around for generations to come no matter what

I live in the Truman Show. I just googled "Why is Bloodborne not on PC", and this popped up. I watch Mutahar often, and this being released 1 day ago is too weird. And this is not the first time something like this happened, I'm just randomly searching for something and boom, one of my favorite youtubers already made a video on it recently.

I was just looking at my copy of Bloodborne 2 days ago, and wishing I could play it. See, I own Bloodborne, I've owned it for 5 years, but I've never played it because I don't, and have never owned a PS4.... Yes, I know, I should just buy a PS4, or should have at some point, but I never did. I did borrow my brothers PS4 for a little while, and played through a small part of the game, but he wanted it back and I never borrowed it again. So, this is very exciting for me!

Advertising it's running in the emulator? RPCS3 had this issue with Persona 5 and was able to continue after removing the ads.

This is all insane progress, considering the fact that a couple months ago that you could only load up the main menu and the character screen didnt work. But I have a feeling that Sony will do a little trolling and announce a bloodborne remaster right when bloodborne works fully on emulators

I've seen people on shad discord running it at 120+ fps with minor dips. Lightning is glitchy, uses a ton of ram and keeps crashing, but it runs. It used to be so much worse with motion blur enabled by default. It keeps progressing. It's awesome.
