I agree, it's nice to have another POV. It reminds me of an article I read a couple of years back. In this article a dealer salesman was stating that if a couple enters a dealership ready to buy car and you don't sell the car to the female then you will lose the sale. I think female opinion weighs more heavily than one would suspect when cars are concerned.
@@angrypenguin956 who needs car sales people anymore, the car pretty much sells itself. If someone wants to buy a certain car they'll buy it. They don't need a sales man to convince them of something they already want.
I must say that I really love this Car driving Review of 2021 Cadillac Escalade, it is as beautiful and sexy from the outside as from the inside, this is my type of SUV and I would of course order the absolutely most luxurious version in the ESV version.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
A luxury status vehicle that GM has done a great job with over the years. I'll never own one, I don't need that big of a vehicle, but I still like to admire them..
I have seen several reviews on this vehicle over the last month or so and I have to tell you both that you people have shown me several things I did not see by the others. THANKS. And I love that your Canadian. So now I'll check out your other reviews on other SUV's The caddie I priced would be over 146,619. A beast. Now I do like the Navigator, the Denali , so many choices so many reviews what's a guy to do.
I haven’t been a fan of the Escalade since the 2nd gen model but have to vehemently admit that new gen looks quite impressive; I raved so much about the latest Navigator but believe Cadillac has now certainly upped the ante to compete toe-to-toe with imports as well as domestics. Finally, an Escalade with aesthetics that set it apart from the Tahoe & Yukon - love it! - Great review as always!
GM is really a hit or miss company. They make some REALLY terrible products and they make some REALLY fantastic products. Gotta say, this Caddy is a winner! Love it!!

Great review. Very thorough. Love how you did your homework first. And the two of you together, very personable. It was an informative and enjoyable review to watch. Keep up the great work. I appreciate the little extra insight you gave about the diesel version, but I am having a tough time finding any reviews that really dive into the details of how the diesel drives in varying circumstances, especially given the big drop in horsepower. Any chance you, or some of the posters here, might reply with more insight into the diesel and how it drives, especially in different circumstances from hills at high speed to bad weather conditions and back roads? I would be very appreciative. That the diesel keeps the high torque of the big V8 is great, and I have learned that its torque actually kicks in at a much lower 1500 rpm's, which is also great, helps with the quicker starts off a mark such as at a stop light or entering a turnpike or city driving. What most concerns me, however, is just where that lower 277 horsepower might show up as the trade-off. I live in mountainy ski country out west where you have long, steep highways, and I wonder if this big suv with that lower horsepower can even accelerate and pass another vehicle on such big hilly highways when it is already going 70 or 75 mph. This concerns me. One person commented that having that higher torque kick in at lower rpm's goes a long way to making up for the lower 277 horsepower of the Diesel, but that's not completely making up for it. What are the trade-offs, where do they occur when driving. This is a big monster of a heavy suv after all. Really, along with how the Escalade might handle with those thinner sidewall 22" wheels on less well maintained roads and snowy icy roads in big storms (best days to go skiing after all), the Escalade with the diesel engine's ability to accelerate to pass when already at high speeds on hills or other possible issues with that lower horsepower are my main concerns. Any added insight into this issue would be very welcome. Thanks for a great review regardless.
Love the reviews that you guys do! As for the fuel economy, I think if you can afford a $99,000 vehicle, you're probably not going to worry to much about fuel economy.
Awesome review. 👏 I think the diesel option would be my choice, especially since it's a no cost option. Cadillac really hit the hammer 🔨 on the head with this one.
The folks down in Washington would have loved this new ‘stoic’ Cadillac. And it’s size perfect for tall Vikings. After all, the word ‘Escalade’ means ... “the act of scaling, especially the walls of a fortification.”. This new Cadillac has designed quite the presence, with its latest styling. But what can you really do style-wise with a boxy square-ish shell? It is big and it is bold... but beautiful? I’m not so sure. Especially at ~gulp~ ... $125,000! Wow! Thanks for another excellent review.
My advice... consider a full loaded Denali and with your spare $45,000 pick pick-up the new upcoming VW “R” station wagon for when you go more ‘incognito’ (and still want a sporty, ease of parking and ... fuel economy!).
We got the new 2021 Yukon xl Denali with the ultimate package (which comes with every option) and we were gonna get an Escalade but we didn’t want to spend and extra 20,000-30,000 extra for a very similar car. We also liked the looks of the new Yukon better than the Escalade.
Did you see the fuel consumption! 25.5 liters per 100 km (9.2 us 🇺🇸 MPG! Is that idling all the time.. what is the actual mpg? Are they coming out with a hybrid? Plug 🔌 in Hybrid? Beautiful vehicle, Amazing screen!
It was a tough assignment for GM: an Escalade redo! Crucial for them. They did well. Is the bargain of the 3 row SUVs with a V8 still the Nissan Armada / Patrol?
Have a question regarding my 2017 Escalade Luxury Model - 8 speed transmission - problem slow speed clunk from 1st to 2nd gear .......................tryied to get this problem fixed but dealership is having issues with this clunk noise. They changed the valve body in the transmission, under extending warranty the cost was about $4,000.00. It really didn't make much difference. I've also tried changing the ride from touring to sport and to the other function but doesn't make any difference. I'm second owner - I'm in my 70's and have had the vehicle for close to 3 years. It only had 40,000 km on it and now has 77,000. I like the vehicle and it's really in top condition as I'd like to keep it for a few more years. Thanks, Ron Simon Nanaimo, BC
We chose the Navigator over the Escalade. Both great but the fit and finish is nicer in the Navigator. Escalade has better tech. Ride is comparable but the Escalade is stiffer, preferred it on the highway. But preferred Navigator in the city. turbo 6 in Navi gets 2-3 mpg better too.
WOW! Interior is driving me crazy! But the gas mileage is bad. I thought they stop making V8! Too bad it’s not a diesel or a hybrid would be nice and what are they going to do in 2035 when all vehicles should be electric? Cheers! Thanks for sharing guys! Love this video! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much for watching, really glad you enjoyed it. It seems consumers still like a V8, but at least Cadillac has a diesel option at no charge.
Scott Goldie GM is using profits from their large SUVs and Trucks to pay for EV development. Personally I like small 4 Cylinder SUVs much better. They are much easier to drive. You can go many more places in a small SUV. The Escalade is a great vehicle, but it is ancient. The V8 engine is naturally aspirated and still uses pushrods. It still uses a body on frame architecture. Naturally Aspirated V6 and V8 engines are going away over the next couple of years. Toyota has stopped all V8 production. The American manufacturers will probably stop making V8s before 2030. All cars will be EVs and PHEVs before 2030. The new Escalade is too long. Cities are becoming more urbanized and parking spaces are getting smaller. A vehicle the size of the Escalade will limit where you can travel. It’s not going to work in the city or a tight trailhead in a National Park. The mpg is horrible. Between massive depreciation and high fuel bills this vehicle is not a good wealth building tool.
Love the videos. Also maybe I’m wrong but something tells me non of you like to put it in S sentence for one reason or another. )) We love you and put it in S for you be sure of that :)
Hello sir,2021 Escalade esv length is 227”, 2004 Ford Excursion was 226.7”, the same actually. The expedition/navigator are SUV based to Ford f150 and Yukon/escalade are based to Chevrolet Silverado. The Ford excursion was based to Ford F250 (Super duty) If ford produces a new excursion based to current F250 the size will be as USS enterprise hahaha

The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.
I agree, they are kind of boxy and chunky looking, still not bad looking until you put it next to a BMW X7 and then it becomes clear the X7 is a much better looking and more premium looking vehicle. I hate the taillights, funny thing though is I was driving my mother somewhere last week and there was an Escalade in front and she said she liked them and she usually cares nothing about cars. I know people that own Denalis because they don't like the Escalade or they think the Escalade is too flashy but I also know a lot of people with both. I preferred the Denali for the last generation but now I prefer the Escalade for this one, plus the differences are significant, I would still go with an X7 though. LOL
They need to drop the 6.2. That fuel consumption is just awful and they weren’t driving all that aggressively. The diesel should be the standard. The 2.7t gas engine should be available as a credit option. They also need to make a shorter two row version for people with smaller families that live in crowded cities that do not want a crossover.
All that weight..I do wonder what the wear on brakes, joints, axle joints, tyres etc are. But then again in this price range, people must have money for the maintenance
I love the exterior/interior color combination! But overall, I don’t like the design of this SUV. The proportions seem weird, and the sea of screens doesn’t do it for me.
Ok, I thought I wasn't the only one who thought the proportions of these new set of GM suvs were weird. Tall and narrow front and rear ends, short front overhangs and long rear overhangs, and super large side view mirrors. Such an odd looking combo. They do look better in person though
Rated at 16 and 12 city and highway. No reason it shouldn’t get that for most people, unless you truly drive short stop and go trips. Any car can double its fuel consumption in stop and go traffic.
The difference between Cadillac and the Toyota land cruiser is that most Cadillac Escalade owner owns gas station while most of the Land Cruiser owns by narcos hahaha just kidding
Now, I love the car but please, why do you need 6.2 litres? At a time when oil is running low and climate is on everyone’s lips, why 6.2? That’s half the size of a semi engine that pull hundreds of thousands of pounds of weight. Just no need.

diesels are just so good with those big trucks/suvs. Less fuel burning just to make enough torque to make it move
The Diesel engine should be standard. The 6.2 V8 has real world fuel consumption that should be illegal.

LOL
i don't know why here in Philippines Cadillac cars is not available or any sale it;s rare here tfck
But you still have Suburban/Tahoe
The exterior styling is nice. Not a fan of the interior.
6:10 25.5L/100 km 😮
They need to drop the 6.2. That fuel consumption is just awful and they weren’t driving all that aggressively. The diesel should be the standard. The 2.7t gas engine should be available as a credit option. They also need to make a shorter two row version for people with smaller families that live in crowded cities that do not want a crossover.
All that weight..I do wonder what the wear on brakes, joints, axle joints, tyres etc are. But then again in this price range, people must have money for the maintenance
Diesel is far more expensive to buy. So I wouldn't get too jacked up about the extra MPG.
If only the drive system would not be so old
This one is going to be mine....in 10 years .Pouahahaha.
Come on! Do “gallons” also. In America, we do use liters.
MPG were included, watch again.
25.5L/100km?
Rated at 16 and 12 city and highway. No reason it shouldn’t get that for most people, unless you truly drive short stop and go trips. Any car can double its fuel consumption in stop and go traffic.
No matter the model, I still have the old grandpa image stuck in my head when I think of Cadillac
AKG= Harmon Kardon *the more you know*. Lol
Darren....AKG =Harmon. Harmon=Samsung! Just wanted to add that.
The previous generation will always look better than this. GM should have simply put this interior in the previous design.
You forgot to mention that they are endless money pits as they age
Lease them
