Christmas (Original Song) - Last Band On Earth (22/30)

This Christmas anthem is Gwenno's latest composition, written only two weeks ago. For this one, we decided to create a percussion backing track to play along to in the studio (which we've done for previous tracks like Africa and Hold On). We wanted sleigh bells, and tubular bells on the song but couldn't add them live with only three band members. That meant an extra level of difficulty having to stay in time with the backing track: tricky! Theo kept us in rhythm admirably well, I think you'll agree. We scrambled to get it finished in time for the holidays to help see out 2020 on a hopeful note. We wish you all a merry Christmas and a 2021 filled with love and beautiful music. See you soon! xxx
A little bit about Last Band On Earth:
Hi everyone, we are the Elsenburg family. Daddy Elsenburg is a gigging musician and runs a band practice workshop for children and adults. When the Covid 19 pandemic hit, the only band he could still safely play in was his family band with his son and daughter. We came up with the name Last Band On Earth and have been recording videos for fun, as a cool way to learn music for the children, and also for YOU. We hope they can help to brighten your day!

I know I'm behind the times, but I have just discovered your wonderful musical family - can't wait for everyone to grow up and see how their musical lives progress. Loved Theo's drums, esp. the end - shows he is human! Gwenno's voice was wonderful, as usual.

Thanks for posting this original (yay!) composition. Christmas songs are notoriously difficult to write, but I think you've done admirably well. It has all the elements in place, without being too derivative. Its simple arrangement works very well. I love the humour at the end.
