Other achievements that would make sense: Rejuvinating Thief: Steal the rejuvinator. Urnless: Have an enemy drop the urn by Heavy Meleeing them. Cartoon Comedy: Use Knockdown to stun midair enemies 100 times. Charity: Take an unsecured souls bag over 1,200 souls. Power Hungry: Have two powerups (Bridge Buffs). Unstoppable: Avoid 3 different debuffs using unstoppable. Loose Change: Hold 2000 Unsecured Souls at once. Hands Off Me!: Parry two melees (from different heroes) in under 3 seconds. Weak Defense: Destroy the enemy guardian in under 6 minutes.
Fun fact about Yamato's bizarre design: It's one of the handful of designs that are leftover from when deadlock was a different game: Neonprime, a scifi space themed game that took place on a prison planet, so this Yamato is an Alien. She's one of the handful of heroes in the game who is confirmed to be getting an entire from the ground up redesign in the future, the other ones that will be getting this treatment is Warden, Grey Talon, and Viscous.
@ i believe his gun is going to be changed into some form of coral gun, but his overall body might also change at some point even if just a little. Currently, he is just using a slightly tweaked version of Kelvin's original model from neon prime.
You’re very likely correct. However, with the winter skins challenges I think they’re testing the waters on how achievements would impact player behaviour. Thanks for your comment 👍
i really like the approach taken in CSGO's operations, where you can either choose to complete a set of casual challenges or competitive challenges. casual challenges are the fun ones: complete weird funny objectives, just "get x kills with ___" challenges that encourage a player to test out overlooked guns, or things that teach strategies to prepare players for serious competitive play like "throw this grenade lineup 5 times". you don't want to *force* players into any specefic strategies in competitive, but you *can* use casual mode as a means of teaching lessons that will be useful in competitive. meanwhile, competitive challenges are extremely simple: get X amount of wins, get X amount of round wins, or play X amount of rounds (successfully or unsuccessfully). they don't tell you to do ANYTHING besides play X map, which everyone on your team will have agreed on before the game ever starts. you're encouraged to try your best and finish the challenges by actually winning, whichever strategy you might find most effective. but it also allows less skilled casual players to work through them if they struggle to win, as long as they keep *trying*. they're not particularly interesting, but at the very least it makes people stop playing the same map over and over again and improve their overall fundamentals, enjoy new maps, and prepare for premier mode; the "real" competitive mode.
And absolutely everyone wanted to do them lol. It was fun, and then there are those moments when 2 or more players from different teams just want to get their skin and simply help each other to get em @@overachiever2436 Idk they're cool, specially if they are like these special seasonal ones like last time.
A lot of people have fear that it would ruin the gameplay because someone would do something stupid just to do an achievement and to that I remind them of the Christmas skins.
Probably achievements would mean just badges earned for completing certain special events like the Christmas ones so probably like Halloween and lore related event badges will be plemented. Somehow similar to dota 2 trophies when buying the compendium or finishing events (crownfall completion trophy)
Can tell you've put a lot of work into this! However, here are some criticisms: - The last achievement, while is a great reference to TF2, is something that imho wouldn't work. TF2 has a lot of differences when compared to Deadlock, but most important one being, matches being on server that can be joined even after game starts already. In Deadlock if a player leaves, match is essentially decided in like 90% of cases, because it's a Moba, achievement like this just wouldn't work or would be deemed to toxic in a Moba game as compared to CS or TF2. - I don't mind funny achievements, the one with Lash and Bebop being pretty good, but I think you could've went in a different direction than just 'X achievement, but fail', because again, it being a Moba, and not a fun server game where couple of players can just chill or roleplay or whatever, here getting these achievements could be seen as intentional griefing and people would mistakenly report players who just want to get achievements. I don't like it either, but that's sadly the truth. - Due to ever changing nature of the game I get why you didn't just put something like "Three Armed Bandit: have Wraith use Melee Strike on Soul Slot Machines X amount of times", but I'd love to see more achievements that have to do with the map as well. - I want more dumb minor achievements, like having everyone in your team taunt in a specific building or have you taunt as Seven after wiping the team or stealing the midboss. Still, good video! Cheers
sorry to break it to ya at 31:54, but Valve doesn't even properly credit their own team members unless SAG-AFTRA *forces* them to like with the voice actors of past games.
honestly dont think deadlock will have any achievements, dota 2 doesnt have any which is a similar game and another "new" valve game like cs2 doesnt have any (even though it used to)
I'm a pocket main and I actually wasn't aware that using the briefcase to escape targeted attacks wasn't taught. I sort of just realized it pretty early on and use it to mitigate Seven and Wraith attacks whenever possible. Also, *they
It shouldnt have any. Like dota. Achievments hijack the gameplay loop and make players grief games and play in way that ruin games. You see it in dota games whete players complete tasks for battlepoints, and they end up buying bad items or farming jungle or mjsusing spells just to complete bounties.

Yeah one art of her in game she has a normal forehead
Noooo not viscous
@Oliver62626 I imagine they won't do much to goo because he's already goo, probably just change his gun
@ i believe his gun is going to be changed into some form of coral gun, but his overall body might also change at some point even if just a little. Currently, he is just using a slightly tweaked version of Kelvin's original model from neon prime.
@ yeah i saw that they have the same gun. glad to hear the model will just be tweaked
Just like dota 2 it probably wont have any. Both are ice frog games and he's said in the past he doesn't want people ruining games going for them.

Glad to see another OverAchiever post!
As a Dynamo main, I am glad that I already have all his achivements.
A lot of people have fear that it would ruin the gameplay because someone would do something stupid just to do an achievement and to that I remind them of the Christmas skins.
I do agree with the concern but as long as the achievements don’t require doing anything outside of ordinary gameplay I think it should be fine.
I used to do a lot of stupid shit just to get a christmas skin and if the games gets achievements I wiuld do it again
15:56 oh god not that word rogue the bat is coming back to me
The Kelvin ult one is very close to his Christmas one
Pocket: Teleport 50 m away while being in the Briefcase!

Best one: steal the rejuvenetor after having the enemy team kill the mid boss
11:27 should involve letting a teammate follow up if its that far away like a ganking incentive

A interesting one would be: escape a fight with 100 or less HP without dying
I would love to see Deadlock do this for real and credit you.

Thanks for all the feedback! I really like the “Three Armed Bandit” achievement. Great name and great idea!
I hope deadlock releases with a bunch of game modes that all have achievements for them, and keep the competitive mode free of achievements

Well, you have a future achievement grinding 😅
I'm not sure you understand bloodletting if you're making an achievement about "accidentally" dying to it 😅
It shouldnt have any. Like dota. Achievments hijack the gameplay loop and make players grief games and play in way that ruin games. Soil.
None because i would suffer to 100% a moba game
wait its a MOBA?! EEEWWW
damn, i know you can see your reflection in the screen but you dont gotta react that strong
Don’t care
