Definitely slow too slow me but it’s also a compact car and is meant for fuel efficiency, not speed. Just a side note- I’ve always been impressed with Kia’s IVT simulated shift points but Hyundai ruined them by making it sound just like a CVT fake shifting.
Honestly, the time is rather impressive for a brick with only 121 HP. People these days are spoiled and don't realize how good that is. I've had cars with more power that were much slower. For some reason, I really like this vehicle, but it needs an AWD option for those of us in northern climates.
A CVT that shifts like an automatic! Love it. Hyundai's IVT are actually made by them and have a chain instead of a belt. Way better than Nissan's Jatco CVTs
That engine is working hard but those are good acceleration times for the horsepower. Transmission is good as well. It’s an appealing package with personality, nice to see compared to the boring cars of 10 years ago
Holy crap its fast for 121hp naturally aspirated engine. Thats really fast for european standards and it baffles me how did they achieve that. I was expecting somewhere near 11-12sec. Suzuki Vitara 1.6 2WD with 120hp has 11,5 sec to 60 mph.
fun fact: this car uses the same block from the N20 engine from BMW. It just doesn't have the turbos and the redline is lowered (6500 rpm vs 7000 rpm) for reliability
CVTs offer increased fuel economy. They only design it to fake shift because people have been complaining about CVT engine droning for many years. I personally don't mind it at all.
I don't understand, 0-60 is in the 10.x sec. everywhere else I look. I come you get in the 8.x sec! Will it be around that in the manual transmission ?
@@CarQuestion well idont think 0-62 in 8.5 sec actually labelled as (suck) those are pretty healthy numbers and 121hp for a tiny shoe box like it make it actually fun ...it may lack the punch and grunt because of the cvt .....maybe you are addicted to german grunt thats why

Is the Hyundai Venue 1.6 liters with a 121-hp four-cylinder engine is fast enough for you?
I wonder if they're gonna make an N Line with the 1.4T or 1.6T...
It's not that bad.. for only 121hp ..I like my car around the 6.5-7.5 second range to 60 mph
great idea!

Renault ruined the quality of jatco transmissions
that kick down is one of the quickest I’ve ever seen in an everyday car
Mazda’s kickdown is even faster
You finished faster last night tho soooo
It’s a cvt that’s why, not really kicking down

8.56 seconds is pretty decent for only 120hp. Tucson 2.0L takes over 10 seconds lmao.
lol i thought this was a regular auto until i realized in my mind that it was a cvt from watching a review.
Unexpectedly quick! Interesting what you can achieve with a decent power to weight ratio and good transmission.
Very impressive for its power! Similar acceleration to many 170-180hp sedans. CVT off the line in this car seems to accelerate very well.
Faster than I expected.
Honestly it’s kinda fast for 121hp 😂
Wow this CVT really seems like an automatic. My Eclipse Cross SEL has a CVT and simulated shifts but not like this.

Does it actually?
@@why8410 yes. look it up
Venue is the quickest beast on indian roads among all mid range cars. So bossy 0-100 kmph. Schools everyone on highways.
PRETTY GOOD TRANSMISSION NICE JOB HYUNDAI
Thank you for the best video
Not bad at all. I was hoping for something close to 10s or more
just picked up a 2023 and was surprised at the pick up it had

Hey how did it do in the snow for you? Might recommend my aunt to get one of these.
Is this cvt or 10 speed
For what it is it’s kinda quick
Pretty well tuned CVT, faster than a CX30 2.5 😂
Even than a Koenigsegg CC
I prefer the Kia Seltos, looks better and available with AWD and the 1.6T.
we are headin to Texas at the end of the month to test it!
Pas mal du tout... Not bad at all...
Weird! why does CVT fake gears when they should just put a regular transmission in the first place....

@@jaxandmore440 well I do and alot of ppl do! That's why they change it
Cool!
super cool!
What is the difference between the 1st and 2nd runs? The 1st one is quicker.
2nd one is 0-100km/h which is 62mph
I would like to have it in Europe. We have crappy 1.5dpi.

Awd .?
I hope there isn't these "fake" gears in normal driving. A CVT should act like a CVT in my opinion.
CVTs with shifts like the ones in the video are a engineering feet
From what I've heard, in normal driving it doesn't fake shift. It only fake shifts when you lay deeper into the throttle.
I had a 2020 Elantra with this same CVT and I absolutely LOVED it. It easily beats Honda's CVT.
are you talking about speed or just the CVT?
@@CarQuestion the CVT. It was so great I thought it was actually an automatic!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's very fast for 121 horsepower 😮🎉😊
This is a cvt?
Derek Chisholm Yup
It’s an econobox. What are you people expecting? 0-60 in the 7’s?? 😂
It’s faster than the kicks!
Doesnt it have a speed alert chime?? (after 120km/h speed)
Not for Canadian cars

A CVT that simulates shifts is so effing stupid.
They are more and more vehicle like that ! They evolved over time and the cvt are better than what it used to be
