      This trailer doesn't represent the afterlife, particularly in christianity.
      But I'm just speaking in general and romance-wise, how is it good to have two romantic partners?
      That's cheating. It's making one of the partners luck out or be a third wheel.
      Would you want to be on the short end of the stick?
      I would not feel lucky.
      I'm glad I'm in the 4B movement and am aroace.
      This movie doesn't look interesting.
      And so many movies with couples are not about love or they promote toxic, abusive, and superficial relationships.
      I'm glad some yt-ers have criticized how many movies promote toxic relationships.

    • @gurtpootie7667
      @gurtpootie7667 29 days ago +8

      @user-gu9yq5sj7c let’s see…
      Over 8 billion people
      About 2.5 billion Christians

      Why does it have to represent less than half the global population, in terms of depictions of the afterlife?
      It’s a fictional story written using imagination. The writer wrote the script thinking about a romantic conflict in the afterlife to heighten the drama and absurdity. Suspend your disbelief before you decide to virtue signal about how you think “conflict is bad and negative stuff should never be addressed” and frustrate the thousands of people 30 steps ahead of you in acknowledging and dealing with life’s challenges.

    • @trinityjulian5862
      @trinityjulian5862 27 days ago

      @user-gu9yq5sj7c Well she lost the first partner I'm assuming so from what it looks like I don't think anyone cheated. There's this beautiful article by Amy Krouse-Rosenthaal before she passed away from cancer writing a letter to her husband giving him "permission" to be happy and not feel guilty if he falls in love again. I think it's a good thought experiment to think about, I've definitely wondered about. The afterlife is something really mysterious to a lot of people too. From the trailer, it doesn't seem toxic or abusive, everyone looks happy and passionate.

    I remember being about 7 and asking my mom about this. My dad, her first husband, died when I was a baby.
    She married a decent guy who did his best to raise me well.
    I asked her who she would be married too in heaven????
    She told me that spirits are genderless, and we would all just kind of hang out together in perfect love.
    I mean, I don't believe it. It's just what she told a 7 year old a few decades ago.
    Im kind of suprised no ones made a film with this premise before. Or maybe they have?

    Watched Eternity at TIFF last month it’s a definitely worth your time, as always Elizabeth Olsen talent is a limitless well of versatility, it’s humour genuinely hits laugh out loud levels and is wholesome in ways no romcom has been in many years!❤️

    This movie will sink or swim on it's ending. I find it very difficult for this plot device to have a satisfying ending. It seems like one those: "great pitch, enticing premise, let's film it" that then falls apart under the lack of tought for the second half of the movie. Hopefully It won't be that. But I'll wait for the reviews.

    • @LordSesshaku
      @LordSesshaku 25 days ago +7

      Just to be clear, due to some of the answers. I don't think the "danger" of the ending relies on who she will choose. The danger relies on how to make that decision feel natural and satisfying, without being cruel to the other part. Because on this pitch, there are no wrong positions, nor evil characters. Audiences are gonna empathize with all three of them. So it's gonna require some good writing on their part to pull it off.

    I love how this is why they will never do the love triangle with Wonder Man with Wanda and Vision in the MCU.

    When will movies have heart and soul again? Look at the films from the 90s… plenty of tearjerkers. Now all we get is indie concept pieces and superheroes.

      She was serviceable with the little she had but a freight train in everything she’s done since leaving marvel, I’d take that over incompetent writers and green screen🤷‍♂️

      @JinxMadnessI personally dislike a lot of A24's. Their movies are too weird or pretentious to me. I loved her in the MCU, so to me, if she'd come back as Wanda and makes some normal mid budget originals, I'd be happy.

    • @JinxMadness
      @JinxMadness Month ago +3

      Sure that’s understandable for some, I however find it depressing to watch another talented actor in a long list waste away in the marvel slop machine.

    They are doing the most to convince me that this is a hard choice… but seriously, she is an old woman back in her young body, and she needs to choose between two husbands - one that died in his twenties in the 50s and one that she he’d family and aged with that died just a week before she did (I’m guessing Covid got them) seems to me like an easy choice…

      There's an old saying. Men's sacrifice happiness for the family, women sacrifice family for their happiness. Also statistically women are happier after their husbands die. Turns out humans are way more complicated than rom-coms would make us out to be.
