They are good mods from Mike but to save some money, I put my screws into the vents from the underside so just the tip of the screw end shows then dabbed a dot of white paint over the holes and they have come out just as good and no where near as bulky and clumsy as the large screw heads. . .just another option for people who can't afford all the mods
The logistics might be difficult, but I would love to see a Mike Lane mods video with Mike being a surprise guest. You could do a little interview on how MLM got its start, showcase tips on installing some of the many mods, and possibly get a sneak peek at a few upcoming mod parts. It would be great for the livestream with possibly an edited down version also available for those who have more limited viewing time. Mike Lane has done such amazing work, and I love when you showcase some of these mods. More than one previous build turned out exponentially better thanks to MLM parts, and watching ahead of an issue (as my budget requires me to do) really helps us plan out what mods we'll want so we can have them by the time that particular issue arrives. Bringing him in for an unannounced guest appearance (or travelling to where the magic happens) would be a truly memorable occasion.
Same here. I do agree it's a pricy mod but so is the whole kit at $1800. I was able to justify the cost as I have the subscription placed on my CC that gives me cash back on every purchase. I also knew I'd be doing mods to make this better anyways. Like others said sure I could simply glue the kit vents down and use pin heads or a drop of ca glue in the holes to form simulated rivets. But what sold me on this is the vents actually have openings as well as the panel line showing theses are two pieces like the real ones.
@@MartinFutter70, blitz is $1500 and is of plastic construction with the no ghost logos being vinyl decals, and the red alcove in the back is a vinyl decal as well. Eaglemoss's version has all logos painted on. If you wanted a over priced plastic toy for $1500 sure but you are not saving money in this case. If you want to save money just buy the 1/18 scale hotwheels ecto 1 for under $200 that is die cast and cheaper than Eaglemoss.
@@Milner62: I agree with this 100%. I know that the Eaglemoss Ecto 1 will cost more money, but in the end, with Mike Lane, and other supporters, the Eaglemoss version will be far superior. Only draw back will be the size difference between the Blitzway, and Eaglemoss, Blitzway being bigger.
I really like the Mike Lane mods and have plenty of them for the EM Delorean, but this is way too expensive, especially for those who live outside the UK like me. Will do my own Resin print instead.
I must say that Mike Lane does great mods and I have a few for the Delorean but the price on these are WAY to high. 50 US dollars with shipping is crazy. It is only 2 pieces of plastic.
I agree the pricing is up there but I still bought the vents and I'm in the us as well. I justified it as my Ecto 1 build is placed on my CC and I get money back on each charge. So money I'm saving throughout the build will be covering the cost of mods like this.
Hi wayne the Mike Lane mods for the hood of the Ecto-1 really looks good on the build, instead of the screws that came with it. WOW when you first put the screws, in the first issue, it did look a little funny, and was wondering if eaglemoss would do something bout it, but with this mod from mikelanemods, wow it really makes a huge impact to the build itself.... am still trying everything to order this in Australia, but as yet it isn't available, am wondering how long it would be as I would like to start this build, there is ***NO*** eaglemoss site for Australia or is there a shop....and was wondering how I would go bout ordering it as a subscription.
I have to agree with some other posters on here. Total price to have them shipped to the US is $54.66 USD. Way too pricey for my taste, especially right off the bat with the build. They look sweet, though. May change my mind way down the road, but, I'm holding off for now.
Got mine coming for the vent! Looks so much better! Now I'm trying to figure out what to do to make the wands for the proton pack attach to the pack.. who the hell makes a proton pack and doesn't make it so the wands can attach in some way.. Thought magnets would work but the spring hose they use makes that a no go.. Might just have to make a peg on my own or something... Crazy!
£30 plus postage rip off lol. You could just glue the original ones on to the bonnet and fill the screw holes with some filler. Then paint over with some gloss white.
@@Andy.Gledhill.Models. plus "fricking" was me editing for politeness on here haha. I used worse! Gone back to the screws. At the end of the day, the model is so huge they won't stand out when it's fully built. I think they're only standing out to people now as the bonnet is the only main bit we have
After seeing this I'm wondering if there will be an aftermarket fix for the non working fog lights? I thought the ecto had "working lights" but apparently only some of them. 8(
I'm not going to bother with other mods but did do this one as don't like the screws. Would it not have been possible for this to have been designed to screw from underneath?
£30 is a bit steep for this. I know he has costs to cover. But come on. We are talking about the cost of 3 issues of this build just to make a minor cosmetic change. I will do the upside down screw in suggestion made by one of the other commentors 👍

Cheers. I will be using this option. 👍
That looks SO much better than the EM vents!! Mike Lane does it again!!!

Great idea but Mike lives about 300 miles from me lol.
A must have mod, makes a huge difference in appearance. I ordered mine even before receiving my first issues in the US.

You could all save money, and get a bigger version for less! Blitzes '1/6th scale' at $1,390

What would be the fun in that. The build experience is what we modelers are after. Anyway the 1/6 scale is more on the line of $1600.
Wow. That’s a huge upgrade. I never paid attention to the screw until now! Now it’s all I see lol definitely worth doing

I’m going to wait to get this one. There is a vent on the rear door of the Ecto-1 so Mike might have those available in a pack of 3 maybe 🤷🏼♂️
Looks much better a great show Wayne and Mike Lane has outdone himself again always a genius at what he does.🏆🏆🏆
I just ordered this mod, Can't wait to get it.

Fantastic Mod Mike Lane

Mine came today and I chipped the paint with my nails somehow. So that's £30 down the fricking drain

I plan on ordering this mod and such when I get my taxes back. anyways great video as always Wayne.
Yes. Another good video

I may be mistaken, but I don't remember Ecto 1 having any hood/bonnet vents !!!!!!!!!! :-)
Nice
We can't get the spitfire in the U.S. yet do you know when we can get it.
No idea yet. Hatchette don't seem to have a presence for part works in the US yet although they are one of your biggest publishing companies.
