London Gatwick is London's secondary international airport, and is the 2nd busiest airport in the United Kingdom, behind London Heathrow! It is one of Europe's busiest too, with its fair share of heavies from across the globe, and plenty of narrowbody flights to and from the rest of the UK/EU! The views for planespotting at Gatwick are phenomenal! Witness aircrafts land and depart from right down the barrel of the runway, and enjoy those early morning sunrise arrivals too... a feast for the eyes!

Lots of Emirates, Qatar and British. Great. Where are the other big guys? Qantas, Singapore, Lufthansa, Etihad, KLM...Heathrow? It also appears passenger Boeing 747's are already disappearing.
Gatwick is mostly single aisle short haul. The big ones are usually there as spill over from slot constrained Heathrow. Lufthansa and KLM have their slots at Heathrow and seem fine with it. Singapore recently announced it'll start to Gatwick next year
