The SJcam Sj4000 WIFI is based on the Ar0330 sensor - Its only a 3.15 megapixel sensor so its only really a 3megapixel camera only (if you take photos higher than this resolution in the menu - it gives you no further detail - the camera just stretches/interpolates the photos to a bigger size to fake bigger megapixels - but the sensor model tells all and 3.15 megapixels is all it can do) The sjcam SJ5000 plus is a panasonic MN34120PA sensor which is a true 16megapixel sensor (same deal - if theres options offering higher settings than that in the menu its all just stretched and offers no further quality gains) The sjcam sj5000 wifi (the one you have there) is a true 14megapixel camera (any options chosen higher than 14megapixel in your menu are just stretched)
Just ordered a SJ5000 thanks for the review :) Thumbs up for this vid!
+RamsayPowerlifting Enjoy it! I love mine!
Great! Just make sure you get it from a reputable seller! Enjoy!
SJCAM SJ4000 now has a 2 inches screen, but almost half the price as the SJ5000, If you purchase direct from China (AliExpress is a reputable Online-Store Co-Own by Alibaba - a Multi-Billion dollar company), it costs only $65 USD, so I guess if you still like lack a few more dollars for the SJ5000, I think an SJ4000 "2-inches" (latest update) Wi-Fi is a great alternative considering the price difference. Anyway, here's the link... www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-Original-SJ4000-WiFi-SJCAM-Diving-30M-Waterproof-Sport-Action-GoPro-Style-Cam-Extra-1pcs/1970386058.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.1.661m1F&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10152_10065_10151_10068_10136_10137_10060_10155_437_10154_10056_10055_10054_10059_303_100031_10099_10103_10102_5320014_10096_10052_10053_10142_10107_10050_10051_10084_10083_10080_10082_10081_10110_519_10175_10111_10112_10113_10114_9992_10182_10078_10079_5260014_10073_10123_10189_142-9992,searchweb201603_50,ppcSwitch_5&btsid=f782d9cb-fe64-4ceb-8048-9f9ab81a9868&algo_expid=cb73573c-4274-4a06-851d-5d1e3ea9837f-0&algo_pvid=cb73573c-4274-4a06-851d-5d1e3ea9837f
Thanks ms. Penny, i saw the pictures very helpful, my follow question is with out considering the up buttons and wifi button in the casing of the sj5000, if i put the sj4000 inside the sj5000 will you be able to shut the cover closed properly and if so will it the power and the ok button still work. I saw on the internet a sj5000 motorcycle kit that you can charge the camera inside the waterproof casing so in esence i wanted to charge my sj4000 inside this accessories even the wifi or buttons will not work as long as it does the job of charging the cam while driving. So thats why im curious if the charging and hdmi placement and location are completely identical and on same spacing or level. Can you please try to fit the sj4000 to the sj5000 waterproof casing if you have time. Thank you so much for your help.
rio jackle salcedo No, I would not recommend putting a SJ4000 in a SJ5000 case...
thank you for the review!! i'm looking to buy one this week from B&H in NYC..
i'm just wondering about the durability vs the gopro.
and do you know which is the best inexpensive monopod for this camera?
thanks again.
Juan Borrero Hmm... As for durability, I don't really know... The body looks pretty identical to me. I don't think SJCAM has been around as long as GoPro, so it hasn't really had a longevity test. But the price is significantly less, so even if you have to buy 4 of them as opposed to 1 GoPro, it is still comparable in price.
Personally, I follow reviews on Amazon and this one seems to have great reviews/features/price :)

For the SJ5000, how do you go about changing to different shooting modes?
I am having trouble finding the continuous shot mode.
Aiden CK You just go into the menu, and click photo lapse and it will go into continuous shot mode :)
thanks for the quick reply. really appreciate it. as per your instruction, the photo lapse has 3sec etc. does this mean one photo is taken every 3 seconds?
Im actually planning to use the cam to capture the light show at a concert. but im not sure how to. thank you.
Aiden CK Yes, depending on the setting you choose, a photo is taken every 3, 5, 10 or 20 seconds. I'm not really sure how well this will perform for what you are looking to do. Take into consideration how dark with will be, how far you might be from the stage etc...
Whatever you decide, I hope it works out! :)
Hey,
Great video.
Can I ask, is the 5000 bigger in size than the 4000? Just thinking about accessories I already have...
Thanks.
+David Morris No, they are the same size. The screen is bigger on the 5000. The buttons are also different.
Do you need to buy a U.S. charger, something that will enable you to charge the camera and transfer photos, or does each camera kit come with one?
It comes with a USB to micro USB cable. You can buy a wall USB charger if you want. Most people usually have them lying around the house.
Something like this...

Hi Ms. Penny,
I wanted to ask will the sj4000 fit in the enclosure for sj5000 and vise versa? Are the location or layout of the charging area and hdmi ports both identical or in the same height and location. Thanks
rio jackle salcedo No, the underwater casing for both units are different. The HDMI and USB ports are the same, but the WIFI buttons and (up & down) buttons are different. The SJ4000 has 2 buttons on the right side and the SJ5000 has 3 buttons on the right side. The manufacturer's website has some photos of this that might clear it up. :)

Also... If you are wondering about just plain old mount housing... (in case you wanted to use the camera with a stick and still get audio)... I've found the case for the SJ4000 fits better than the SJ5000. When I bought one for the SJ5000 it doesn't seem to fit right (no matter what I did). Here is a photo of what I'm talking about...

Miss Penny Worth Nice review! But I want to know... Is it any good for car, as dashcam? I would like one for summer, pool and so on, but also as a dashcam to record the road. :)
YourTrulyFriend Yeah, you can definitely use it as a dashcam! I've recorded a few times in the car and the quality is pretty good. The battery life isn't so great, so at full charge, you only get an hour of recording (I drive alot). You may want to invest in a car charger. Something like this...
www.sjcam.com/accessories/23-car-charger-mount-suction-cup-bracket-for-sj4000sj5000m10-action-camera.html
Miss Penny Worth Wow, thanks! That's nice. Maybe I'll give it a try, because it seems to be OK for all I need. :)
Fantastic Review, I have to agree the SJ4000 does have a yellow tone to it more contrast. Also the SJ5000 seems to pick up more color in the dark areas. Thank you for taking the time to make the video. I just place a purchase for the SJ5000 WiFi and now after watching your video that reassures me that I choose the better of the two.
+James Neal Great! Glad to help!
I have an SJ4000 wifi, im wondering is the sj5000 series elite/plus is it the same size as sj4000? same waterproof case and battery comaptible with eachother??
+Mark Sandoval The waterproof casing is different. The batteries are all the same. :)
hye, from your opinion which one is better ? either sj4000 or sj5000 ? and what is your opinion about sj5000 and sj5000+ ? the new one should be better right ? but from my reading, most of people said sj5000 is better? so, how about yours?
+Nur Wahidah Personally, I like the SJ5000 the best. Even though the 5000+ sounds like it should be better, in my opinion, it is not. I also made a video comparing the 5000 and the 5000+ here: ruclips.net/video/nox9jV-8bZY/видео.html
What is your opinion?
Yeah I also think that SJ5000 is more better, hehe. Thank you for giving good information :)
+Nur Wahidah You are very welcome!
Did you record the sound from the action cameras? which one has the better sound recording?
No, the sound is recorded off my camera. You can watch my audio review here:
ruclips.net/video/gYpAUHCDSDA/видео.html
Great video! Thank you for the insight, I am curious, does either camera have the ability to attach an external microphone?.... Also, how is the audio feature if an external microphone can't be attached?
Bear Morgan Thanks! You can't add a mic. Audio is not that great. Here is my audio review... ruclips.net/video/pvbd2h-66CY/видео.html
Battery Question!
Is the sj4000 & sj5000 have the same battery? Looking to buy extra battery for my sj5000 and wanted to know if they are the same battery?
MrPositiveP Yes, battery is the same. :)
Hi can you please suggest the best set up for my sjcam 5000 wifi i mean in settings to make more HD all the picture thanks in advance
Hi! A lot of people have asked me this question, so I made a video.
ruclips.net/video/2pYC-ljYme0/видео.html
i have a question, i am planning to buy a 5000 version but torn between the two. the wifi and the plus version. i want to know why did you get the 5000wifi and not the 5000+? as youve said you researched before buying. i know you have the reason why you did not get the + version. thanks!
*you have some reasons
+Glenn Villari Hi! I also reviewed the 5000 vs 5000+. I still prefer the 5000 when comparing all three models. The 5000+ is washed out in my opinion. Here is a link to the video if you want to see it. ruclips.net/video/nox9jV-8bZY/видео.html
ok thanks, ill watch your review about sj5000 vs sj5000+
Hi.
If you dont mind, may I ask the specific features of the 5000 that 4000 doesn't have?
Julia Therese Nitro They have difference sensor chips which makes the image quality different. The SJ4000 is 12MP and the SJ5000 is 14MP. The screen size is also different. The SJ4000 screen 1.5" and the SJ5000 is 2".
does it come with a monopod or you should buy it seperately?
+Josheena Mhyanne Lim You need to buy one separately.
in your opinion which one has the better mic? or are they equal.
+MAtt Gehrke Hi! The SJ4000 has a better mic. I haven't done an audio review, but hope to do one soon! Good luck!
www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MIT6564/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?qid=1444088778&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=sj4000&dpPl=1&dpID=510OEXY5ToL&ref=plSrch do u think this one is legit? I don't know how to spot a fake
It could be. The problem is, that any seller can list an item under a product page on Amazon. Your best bet is to buy something that is "Fullfilled By Amazon" and then make sure it has the red sticker, authenticity sticker and correct screws when it arrives. If you end up getting a fake, Amazon has great customer service and will gladly take it back at no cost. You can then try another seller until you find a good one. Odds are, the first one you get will probable be ok.
Great video. After watching I think I will go with the 5000. Thanks alot! Hope to see more of videos like this from your chanel!
+fastfinger6 Thanks!
Do sj4000 standard edition not WiFi edition say HD 1080p on the bit next to the lens? I ordered it for £13.99 from amazon and it hasn't arrived yet it also says 15fps 1080p 30fps 720p. Oh yeah and it has silver screws btw.
I was almost going to buy SJ4000 .. but after watching your video I bought SJ5000.. and I am very satisfied...
Thank you very much :)
Glad you like it! Thank you for watching!
I use the sj4000 wifi, to make video clips I don't look at small screen I wifi it to ipad 9" screen and with my sound I use a sound recorder and mic and then all my footage goes in to editing software, good review miss penny
+andrewwright99999 Thank you!
Newer genuine SJ4000's have a different look to the waterproof case with no visible screws on the front. The screen is bigger too. Also the latest firmware has some more menu options :D
Whats the battery time like on both and can you take snapshots?
+Gavin Pushparajan (Gavin Nishz) They both use the same battery, but the SJ5000 is advertised at about 55 mins and the SJ4000 is advertised at about 90 mins. The shorter battery life is probably due to a bigger screen needing more power.
What if I had to choose between SJ5000(non WiFi) and the SJ4000(WiFi ) for almost same price ? Suggestions pls?
The waterproof case of the SJ5000 is it compatible with the SJ4000 because I bought it for my SJ4000, I didn't see that it was for the SJ5000 :(
It will probably fit, but I wouldn't recommend it. I would hate for your camera to get damaged because I told you to do that.
Nice review.. I'm a newbie to this.. can you take a picture while your taking a video? if so is it as easy as just clicking a button like on an android?
I don't think you can take a picture while recording a video. You need to put the device in camera mode and take a picture. It can't do both at the same time.
I don't think you can take a picture while recording a video. You need to put the device in camera mode and take a picture. It can't do both at the same time.
Thanks for the video. What is the maximum range of the WiFi on an android device ( ± 30 meters ) ? Can we use the zoom in 4X option on an WiFi android device ?
+Pierre ARBOUR The Wifi Range is 10-20m. I have an Apple device, so I don't have any information on Androids.
Thanks for the heads up, I buying a gimbal that I know fits the sj4000 but the 5000 kinda look a little bigger, thanks for confirming though.
+David Morris Does it fit by a frame mount? If yes, I've had some trouble mixing and matching accessories. Can you send a picture of exactly what you are planning on buying?
Does Sj 5000 have eternal mic option
does this both have a Car mode?
Does the wifi need to be on when using it or is that only if you want the pics to show on your phone? Sorry i don't know anything about these cameras lol
No, the WIFI feature is only to connect it to a mobile device. You don't need to use it.
i love this because it came complete with mounting accessories...
in dilemma should i buy SJ5000+ or xiomi yi...
+Izwan H (MjMax15) I don't know much about the Yi. I may look into those at some point for comparison.
Just wanted to let you know I finally got a Yi camera. Here is the video!
ruclips.net/video/L233RSm6Q-U/видео.html
I was told by a friend who owns the 4000, hes an rver and travels alot says he keeps it recording nonstop & he keeps it plugged into power continuously to avoid the battery replacement issue, do these come with cords to plug into the wall or vehicle lighter adapters?
+Tim Paxton It comes with a micro USB cable. You can use any standard USB power adapter or USB Car adapter with that plug and keep it continuously plugged in. It does not come with a power adapter.
For car: tinyurl.com/q58fwr8
For home: tinyurl.com/q6fjvg8
OK thank you young lady.
+Tim Paxton You are very welcome! Also, friendly tip, if you will be using this item continuously, make sure to put it on car mode so it writes over old data as well as lowering your video quality. Your card will fill up quickly otherwise.
thank you very much.
Its the FeiYu G4 gimbal and I bought it yesterday :) I haven't yet putchased the camera yet though...thanks.
+David Morris Cool! If it's this, then yes, it should fit. :)
tinyurl.com/nobbukq
+Miss Penny Worth Yes, that's the one! Excellent, its shopping for a new sjcam time :)
Hello, we can see that in SJ4000 there's a capture mode with self timer but in the SJ5000 WiFi there's no posibility to do that. Is it about the firmware?
+Álvaro Martínez Hi! You can set a timer by going in the menu and selecting "photolapse" option.
+Miss Penny Worth yes but it's a different option what Im looking for. I want a simple timer. Using photo lapse u will have an instant photo when you push the botton and after that another one in X seconds. I want that this first one could be taken after the seconds that I choose, do you know what I mean?
+Álvaro Martínez There is no simple timer with 1 shot, but in the photo lapse mode, you can choose to have a photo taken every 3, 5, 10 or 20 seconds. In my opinion, it serves the same function. You just have to decide when you've had enough photos taken and want to go back into normal photo mode.
Great review, answered all the questions I had between the two.
Glad to help!
Could i make a short film..? Or does it have that circle ish look? Thanks!
It will have the fisheye effect unless you can edit it out on a video editor. Just keep in mind, video editors don't usually get it all out. It still has the fisheye effect.
Thanks for the review. SJ4000 has more features though. I don't know if it's just SJ5000's firmware but SJ4000 has burst mode that could take 10 shots/second and Rotate which which is good in a way but sucks because SJ5000 has better sensor but does not have them.
+jerraleen Yes, you're right about that. The older firmware for the SJ5000 did have burst mode, but newer ones don't. The closest thing you can get to burst mode is using a timer on cycling mode and capturing a photo every 3 seconds. In my opinion, the loss of that feature still does not push the SJ4000 over the SJ5000. The sensor is significantly better on the SJ5000 and the larger screen makes recording much more pleasant. But, just my opinion. :)
Thanks for this video! Helps a lot. I purchased a SJ5000 because of the better videoquality than the SJ4000 (at least in my opinion). Now I noticed that the sound is really terrible with the SJ5000. You can't really hear a lot and if you raise the volume the "white noise" is really noticable. So I was thinking about returning it and getting a SJ4000 instead. I heard the SJ4000 has better audio quality than the SJ5000. Can you confirm that? What's your opinion on the sound quality and which one has a better one? Thanks a lot.
ThpX I think both have really terrible sound quality. Were you using the camera with the underwater case on? When you do that, the sound is even worse. It kind of sounds like mumbling. Some people recommend opening the camera up and adding an external mic. Personally, I am afraid of damaging the camera if I do that. Here is a video on those brave enough to try adding a mic.
www.sjcamsupport.com/sj4000-external-microphone/
Miss Penny Worth Thank you for your fast reply on my issue. I have tried it with and without the underwater case and it's always bad. I just think that the volume is really quiet and compared to the SJ5000+ you cannot (or at least I can't) higher the volume in the camera's settings.
I have heard about opening the camera up but am afraid of damaging it as well. So, in conclusion, you wouldn't say that the SJ4000's audio is much of a difference compared to the SJ5000's? So switching to the SJ4000 wouldn't be worth it?
An alternative would be the GoPro Hero (2014, entry-level) but that one comes with so many disadvantages (built-in battery, no display, ... ).
ThpX I wouldn't want to deter you from trying the gopro, but the in my opinion, the difference in price for what you get is not worth it. Both cameras are built pretty small, so it's very hard to get a good mic in either camera. Also, once you get used to having a display on the back, it will be very hard to switch to a camera that doesn't have a display. Have you tried transferring the video file to your computer and adjusting some volume settings in any editing software that you may have?
I'm really a big fan of the SJ5000 and would have loved if the mic was a bit better, but to me, the pros outweigh the cons.
Good luck!
Miss Penny Worth I haven't tried editing it. All I did was transferring it to the computer and raising the volume on my speakers. The voices were louder but the constant background noise was really bad in my opinion. That's why I was thinking about getting the SJ4000 because I have often read things like "SJ5000 has the better video quality, SJ4000 the better audio quality". But according to you the difference isn't really much and not worth it.
Thanks for your help though! I appreciate it a lot since it is really hard to find good comparisons of all these cameras especially when it comes to audio quality.
I bought a sj4000 wifi the other day but i've noticed that my photos of peoples faces are vertically stretched a bit... is there any way to fix this that you know of?
+Gemma Cliffe No, there is no way to fix that on the camera because the lenses on all of these action cams are fisheye. BUT you can try editing them out with editing software. Here's a really great article/video about that. Good luck! www.tricedesigns.com/2013/08/09/two-ways-to-remove-fisheye-from-gopro-images/
hey there, i want to start my youtube channel, music related channel. Could u plz suggest me should i go with sjcam(5000/4000)or xiaomi yi ??? And how to capture good audio quality .
please help me out :)
Hi! I wouldn't use these action cameras for a youtube channel. They give a fisheye effect and the microphone on them is not the best. Any point and shoot camera should work for your needs.
do you know if there is waterproof remote control that are compatible with the sjcam. id yes can you do a review
+Amir Dimitri There are no waterproof remotes that I know of.. Just curious, what are you trying to do with a waterproof remote?
+Miss Penny Worth I want to use it when i go surfing or kayaking. I dont want to film the hole time. But if i have a remote i can just wear it around my wrist and start and stop filming as I want
+Amir Dimitri That sounds like it would be an amazing feature. I don't know of any SJCAM remotes. Perhaps they will make something like that in the future that can connect to the WIFI. A friend of mine purchased a SOOCOO S60 and that comes with a remote for that purpose. I played with it for a few days, but the image quality is much poorer in my opinion. Here is a link to the SOOCOO if you're interested to see it... tinyurl.com/o34fqzn
+Miss Penny Worth oh that's great thank you. Can you try with your friend to connect the remote of the SOOCOO to the sjcam
+Amir Dimitri No, it won't work. It uses software to connect to the camera. They are incompatible. Hypothetically, if anything were to work, it would be a WIFI enabled remote. As far as I know, no such remote exists.
nice vid review, despite the end part where you started to record/compare...
in regards to the SJ5k vs SJ4k I noticed one main difference in terms of light handling... although the SJ5k takes more real colors, etc. the SJ4k handles dark/light transitions better.
Can be seen pretty good at ie. 8:25 - pay attention how the light coming thru the window gets blurred/stretches across the car blinds.
I have noticed that on 2 different yt reviews already, so it seems to be legit.
Thanks for your POV! I'm sure it will help others!
im planning to get this sjcam5000, i wanna know how's the microphone?
Have you watched this video? ruclips.net/video/gYpAUHCDSDA/видео.html
love all your reviews btw, it was very helpful. thanks :)
Thanks for watching!
also where did you purchase yours at??
on Amazon. There are links in the video description.
Personally which would you prefer.?
Between these two, I prefer the SJ5000.
Why the SJ5000?can you elaborate on that? =D
The video quality and color are just better. If you watch the video, you can see the differences quite clearly. :)
how about in the photo department ms.Penny.?
They are similar. 14MP vs 12MP. Both cameras have a fisheye look to them.
do you know if the sj can be mounted in a gopro case?
No, you should use the case specifically designed for SJCAM. The buttons are differently located.
Won't fit in the GoPro cases but that doesn't matter as it comes with a case. It does fit in the GoPro mounts though
do you know if you can attach an external battery?
+trooper_cat No, but you can charge and use it at the same time.
Here is my solution for an external battery for SJ4000 and 5000.
www.amazon.com/Lightwish-5200mAh-Portable-External-Battery/dp/B014OUXR9W/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1468647129&sr=8-9&keywords=go+pro+external+battery.

www.gearbest.com/action-cameras-sport-dv-accessories/pp_238169.html
well that was good infonow I think the 5000 is better but now I see the 4000 goingfor as little as $35 on e-bay so now 5000 or 5000+ ??
+jlutie May I ask for a link for the $35 SJCAM? Most of the ones on there are counterfeit. I wouldn't want you to end up buying a counterfeit unit. Personally, of all three, I am the biggest fan of the 5000.
Thank You, I really appreciate your help, the video in your link looked decent at night time, though it looked abit cloudy, I did see some stars & moon, here & there, so the 5000 cam, does look promising, on eBay, its about 2 1/2 times the 4000 cams, price :) I keep trying to find RUclips stars, vids with these 2 cams :)
+da man Good luck!
tks :)
the seller I messeged said it has the sticker on the box to check the authenticity on the website. but I dunno if they can do that with clones or not. what do u mean by the screws?
+MAtt Gehrke the screws on the case should be silver. Fake ones are black.
Ahhh thanks for the info any other signs to look for in a fake?
+MAtt Gehrke Have you watched my video? The first two minutes show what to look for in an authentic vs a fake.. Good luck! :)
Where did u purchase your sj4000 I wanna make sure I get a real not a fake
+MAtt Gehrke I bought it from Amazon merchant "PlatoMall(Ship From USA)" who no longer sells on Amazon.
Does it have the same plug as a hero 4 or hero 3
Brandon Schneck No, the SJCAM uses Micro USB. The GoPro uses Mini USB.
Hi I would like to ask you about the SJ5000 WiFi
it's possible to connect it with my computer and use it as a Webcam ???
can some one answer me and Plzzzz if it possible show me how !!
+Amine Elber I would think if you connect via usb your computer should detect camera and any application you use should detect you have camera.
+L D thanks
but can I use it in Skype or so ..
can u please test it and tell me
thank u for ur awesome work
I'm sorry I don't have sj cam to test. All I can tell you is any camera I connect to my computer can be used as web cam. So it should work for Skype. Do you have cell phone with camera you could try to use that. Connect it and see if Skype detects it.
+L D alright I will do it
thank u again ;)
+Amine Elber I just connected my SJ5000 to my MAC and it works with skype :)
the Blue tint. is it fixable even if I have to use a software. It is also valid I believe in your video before you step outside in the balcony
Sherif Abdulrehim Hmm.. interesting point! I never really noticed the blue tint. It may have been the lighting in the room. I'll be posting another video soon and will check if it produces a blue tint. Thanks for the heads up!
Miss Penny Worth So upon further use of the camera, I do notice a blue tint. I don't know if it can be removed with editing software, but personally, I like it. I think it makes the video quality look vibrant. What are your thought?
Well like the video that was clearly indicating the tint...if my white is showing too blue, it is a bit irritating
Sherif Abdulrehim Yes, I understand. The SJ4000 is a bit yellow and the 5000+ looks washed out. I think the SJ5000 is the best of all 3. I have another video comparing them here if you want to see: ruclips.net/video/nox9jV-8bZY/видео.html
Thanks, great video. Just brought one from gearbest as it is on special for $117 plus free shipping
+RC Tanks & Trucks 24/7 Awesome! Enjoy it!
i just noticed does sj4 and sj5 has the same wide angel?
Yes, they both have a 170 degree wide angle.
hi i have sj 5000 wiFI but i can t see very well my video when i m on my pc. Video don t run in normal way but alterning moments when the video is slow with moments going very fast. i use windows media player or Vlc. What i have to do ? Thanks
+ALESSANDRO FALDETTA How do you have the camera connected? Like a webcam or are you viewing video files?
hi, i see the video in my pc that i made before with the camera. if i see the video directly from my camera i haven t any problem.. but when i see the video in my pc i have because the video doesn t flow as it should. do you know what is the problem ? thanks
+ALESSANDRO FALDETTA hmm.. well I know that when I'm editing videos, if the video hasn't completely loaded it's choppy. It just needs a few minutes to load. Could that be the problem? Not sure what else it could be...
its from your pc.. get a higher spec pc and you good to go
did the company send you these for review?
No, I bought them. But that would have been awesome!
+Miss Penny Worth good review, I bought the SJ4000 but the box didn't come with the little sticker on top of the Barcode. everything else is exactly the same. I'm wondering if maybe they forgot to place it on the box.
+Strange World So it looks like only the 2015 batches have that authenticity sticker on it. You may have gotten an older batch or possibly a really good fake. Do you want to send me some close up photos and I can take a look for you? Try and take photos of the box, camera, accessories. My email is misspennyworth1@gmail.com
+Miss Penny Worth Also.. Here is a great article from SJCAM about fakes!
sjcamguides.com/sjcam-sj-scam-difference-real-fake-camera/
which is better?
sj5000 or sj4000?
+Pa3k Rubin Personally, I like the SJ5000.
which one is better scam 5000wifi or 4000wifi or htc re?
I don't know anything about the HTC RE, but between the SJ5000 and SJ4000, the SJ5000 is amazing! Thanks for watching!
Penny it seems to me sj5000 got white balance, so if we goes outside sj4000 performs much better. just my 2 cents
SJ5000 is more realistic than SJ400 😊 thanks for the review! It helps a lot for me to choose 😄😅
Can this cams record while charging??
+Kunal Shrotri Yes! I do that all the time. You need to use the frame instead of the waterproof case though. Personally, I never use the waterproof case.
Looking forward to buying SJ5000.
Few more doubts.
How bigger (gb) SD card can be inserted and how much battery life is.
+Kunal Shrotri I use a 32GB card. Some users report being able to use up to 128GB. I guess it depends on the brand of the card/firmware. The battery only last about 1 hour.
+Gadgets by Miss Penny Worth thanks fr quick reply..👍
what is battery stand by time
Both are about 1 hour when used. I don't really know the standby time.
What does the wifi do and what does the non wifi do?
Dirtbike Riderr69 The WIFI allows you to connect the camera to the SJCAM app and control the camera through your phone or tablet.
Thanks a lot. Best video comparasion I've seen. If I knew this before, I would buy sj5000 instead of sj4000. :-D
+Jirka Čarek Thanks! That is very nice of you!
I found two sjcam websites and i dont know which one is real help me where i can buy sjcams safely. (Sorry for my bad english im from finland)
+FinStereoGT www.sjcamhd.com/ is the official website.
Good luck!
+Miss Penny Worth thank you so much
wow Great video, very helpful, tks
+da man No, neither is really intended to be used in the night time for stars. It's too dark to see stars.
aww thats to bad, Tks for the reply.
you have pointed up & tryed to look at the stars & couldnt see them? I have seen video on the gopro Hero4 I think it was was able to see the stars, but thats quite pricey though :)
+da man Ok, so I just took it outside and pointed it up and you can barely see the stars. They flicker on and off the video. Not very nice. Was it very clear with the GoPro 4?
+Miss Penny Worth tks for the reply, its seemed to be clear looking at the stars with the gopro, but there, so darned pricey, though.
Keep up the Good work it rlly helped
+Ezekiel yeo Glad to help! :)
very helpful, thank you.
Thanks Penny!
thank you for this very informative video.
Dont you have a fake sj5000. Musnt the power button be on the bottom?
No, it's authentic. Here are pictures from the manufacturer website.
tinyurl.com/joer6n2
Thanks for the work!
ive got mine d same like your 5000, but my verification code have numbers and letters.
+Walter Judilla That's ok. Did you put your code into their website?
sjcamhd.com/safe/
+Miss Penny Worth yup.. said verification code is not valid.😁 btw thanks for your fast reply😉👍🏽 and great vdeos
+Walter Judilla Not valid? :( Or is that a typo because of the smiley?
Thanks for watching and commenting! :)
+Miss Penny Worth its smiley.
+Walter Judilla Great! Glad it worked out!
And thank you miss for doing great job of your review
Thanks for watching!

+emz a Thanks for the comment!
Thank you for this video
No problem!
does sjcam5009 wifi shoot 2k videos?
+Raige Garcia Hi! There is no such camera as the 5009? Could you have made a typo in your question?
+Gadgets by Miss Penny Worth typical error miss. sj5000 wifi.. its fine sj5000 wifi can shot 1080/30fps full hd also 720/60fps.. tnx
+Gadgets by Miss Penny Worth i also read and watch reviews on sj cams most specially from india i was laughing on thier review knowing that they reviewed a fake sjcams thanks to you miss now i know how to spot fake and authentic sjcams i just got my sj5000 wifi earlier today.. tnx a lot to your vid..
+Raige Garcia You're welcome! Hope you love it!
+Gadgets by Miss Penny Worth tnx. i got used to it this is all i can afford as of now and its nice for a newbie like me. sooner i will buy sj5000x elite..
I had my mind on SJ4000 but SJ5000 looks way better!! I didn't know it will be this much better!
but since 5000 costs at least 50 bucks more... I don't know what to do:(...
what do you think? do you think it worths more than extra 50 bucks??
thanks for an awesome video btw! it was very informative!
Jiu Cheon Yeah, I was surprised at the difference myself! I guess it depends on what you will be shooting with this thing, If you will be doing indoor shots, then 100% it is worth the $50 upgrade. The color/quality is incredible. If you will be doing mostly outdoor shots, you will be happy with the SJ4000 quality (I was very happy with my SJ4000 before I got my hands on the SJ5000) even though the SJ5000 is significantly better in both indoor and outdoor shots.
Miss Penny Worth thanks for the reply!
I should get SJ5000 then! your video&comment was super helpful!!
thank you again!
please enlighten us with respect to imaging stabilising for both sj4000 vs SJ 5000. Please include video and camera still shot comments. Thank you for consideration
+James Parker Neither really have an image stabilizer...
thanks for the vid.. i helped me make a choice :)
Thanks for watching!
for both ???
FYI, i have an another kind of box of sjcam sj4000 and verified it in their website.
Great! Thanks for sharing the info!
YOUR WELCOME!!!
great review keep going.
Thanks..!
The SJ5000 is so much betting in terms of quality
+The Royal DJZ Yes, I agree!
6 years old manufactured product still can't afford 😭
Hi, the ones with the sjcam are usually real.
do a mic review plz
+S3 Melio Hi! Here is an audio review I made :)
ruclips.net/video/gYpAUHCDSDA/видео.html
authentic... the _original_ is a GoPro knockoff. Tha later being another Chinese product and some knockoffs actually knock GoPros off their boxes at some performance aspects...
but the idea of authentic... it's authentic if it's not made in China.
+Pașca Alexandru It is an authentic SJCAM. I don't think that GoPro should be the only one allowed to make action cameras. SJCAM does not pretend to be GoPro or sell products under the GoPro name. Something that is not authentic uses another companies name and makes counterfeit products. I think it is unfair to consider any action camera brand that came out after GoPro to be "illegitimate" because they simply came into the market second.
Miss Penny Worth
Name _and_ image. ;)
+Pașca Alexandru You are correct in that, but I am willing to compromise for less of a name/image for 1/4 the cost. Thanks for the comment!
Nice house
Thanks :)
she has me sold :)
get a decent steady camera!
I think so :)
Super helpful! :)
They are authentic coz u did a lot of research.. :O
+Chirag Thakur lol. My reasons are explained in the video...
+Miss Penny Worth lol.. I was kidding..yeah.. m watching the video completely, as I am about to decide between 4000 WiFi and 5000 WiFi.. Buying it from aliexpress on 11th. 4000wifi is 73$ , whereas 5000wifi is 89$..
Wow! That is very a very good deal! Are they a reputable dealer? Is that a brick and mortar store?
+Miss Penny Worth Don't you think a bigger screen and some extra bling leds in the front of sj5000 leads to more battery consumption than 4000?
+Miss Penny Worth yes they are reputable. puhui digital.. I emailed sjcamhd personnel asking about the authenticity of the seller and they replied saying that puhui digital is their registered and approved dealer.. :-)
I bought a SJ5000 Wifi to totally regret! This camera CANNOT even work as a Webcam on PC! Shame! The support is horrible! Android app crashed 90% of the time and never gets updated. The battery having only 900mah of juice last less then 15min recording vídeo.
+Andre Amaral Sorry to hear that! I don't have any problems when using the camera as a webcam, but you are correct that the app crashes often. Battery life on these cameras are always on the poor side as with any action camera. What can we expect from such a small battery? Thanks for sharing your experience!
thank you..
Go pro battery's last longer
+Jordan Wilcox Yes, you are correct that GoPro battery life tends to last twice as long. Thanks for the comment!
