Maybe you could have gotten the pie alone since you had the water in your bag. Also inside the grocery you could have gotten drinks for under $3 and a snack as well.
Given the heat I would have preferred to have more water and the pie in my estimate would have been more filling than the snacks…but it other cities/towns, I may just have to do that, although I fear it’s not easy getting items under $3 TTD due to cost of living increasing

Great Video. In the UK a man did a Video on how to live in London for free. He depended of food waste from eating places. I suppose in Trinidad it is different.

The maker of the video says he is in bush; unbelievable! ! He shouted out pittza, gyro, Kentucky chicken some of the worst fast food in the world. So detrimental for our health and our arteries. They are all heart attack foods. Yet it is prized in Trinidad! We need to educate our people about healthy eating and preserving our fragile eco system, otherwise we will land up like Haiti - a dust bowl. Most part of Chaguanas landscape looks like a dessert , not a tropical island. I am viewing from the UK .
Ihu and understand your point Angela, we have a history with oil and this is what set us apart from other tropical islands, for better or worst, and one of the few to be burden with Saharan dust unfortunately it’s cheaper to eat fast food than healthy food, so most would go for that option, but I agree we need to take better care of our health

Construction companies, housing cooperations and private builders are allowed to cut down trees(some of which have been around for thousands of years ) and erect buildings roads, hospitals, offices etc . No replacement of trees, which cleans the air and provides us with oxygen, rain! shade, food, rest and protection for our birds and other wild species . I live in the UK, which is 48 times bigger than T& T and I am not allowed to cut down a fully grown tree in my back garden. 20 million trees were planted in the UK last year. Yet on a small island like Trinidad, every and anyone can cut down a tree. I was in Trinidad in 2018 and most of the time I was choking on fumes and unhealthy air in PoS, San Fernando, San Juan, Curepe, St James etc. Infact, I though I might develop asthma. There were no trees to clean the polluted atmosphere. Visiting hospitals and malls. I was shocked to see the vast concreted areas. If we were a country, we would be called out for deforestation and contributing to climate change .

I’m not sure, possibly $150k (approx $21k USD) a year on average if I’ve to guess, as for doctors/lawyers it’s definitely way more, like probably $195k and up a year
