Absolutely brilliant!, good luck to Annie at university and all her endeavours I enjoy watching the bond you have between both of you, it's a really special Dad and daughter relationship that should be cherished.
@jamesabroad8589 you are welcome. It reminds me of the times I spend with my daughters when we have Dad and daughter days together even though they have both grown into adults. Those days are precious.
Just found your channel mate. Good viewing and as a bloke with 2 thai daughters I find your content quite refreshing much better than the normal Thai centric vlogs. Congrats
First time viewer from NZ,no idea of your back story, but very impressed with Annie and her endeavors, you can be proud of her for sure, she will do well in life.
Greetings from Sydney. I teach at a university and it’s great to see a young student with some initiative and drive You two have done great as parents to Instil these values in Annie You should be proud
Many thanks James. Great to see Annie is doing so well, and running businesses. The entrepreneurial attitude appears stronger in Thailand than anywhere else I have lived, have seen lots of Asian kids doing the same (Chinese mass sale platforms help). Lot to be learned by western-English speaking kids about building their life skills along with education. Thanks again, hope you are well.
Lovely to see you and Annie together you are both lucky to have such a great relationship with other. My lad is only two years off Uni but does not know what he wants. But he is certainly making the most of island life hanging out on the beach with friend oh to be young again.
Good on you mate.. she is growing a business mind ! Reminds me of when I was in UNI too starting a business. .Plants and snakes...that makes my toes curl... !!
Good on Annie, you must be very proud of her. We love Thalat Thai, amazing place to wander around. Take a look at the fruit section next visit...incredible. We like the garden shops down the other end of the street too. Thamasat uni has great day markets too next to their hospital. Wife's family used to run some food stalls inside the uni but no more, unfortunately.
What’s been going on James? I’ve been working a lot so haven’t been on RUclips much but nice to catch a video. I wish you daughter good luck and feel like I’ve watched her grow up on here. I didn’t know the drinking age in Thailand was 20 and always thought it was 18.
Electric socket was probably for old style emergency light. Pretty heavy battery pack attached to wall. I had a few in my 25 year old house presumably as power failures much more frequent then. All sockets were same ceiling location.
Ah mate, good on Annie for doing that and making some money on a side hustle 👍 I think you are back in the 90s talking about a £600 car .. the good ‘ol Ford XR2i or XR3i 😆😜 get a teen a teen a car now is more likely starts at £3k car + £2k insurance, stupid money - another reason you are better off over there! Great vid, glad to see them more regularly too 👍👍👍👍
James. As stated before the legal age to drink in Thailand is 18 and the legal age to buy alcohol is 20. My wife is has been a government officer in district attorneys office 24y so far. My best friend in Thailand is a government officer as a Thai prosecutor. My daughter is currently in Bangkok studying law to follow her mother’s footsteps. All three confirm. Just google yourself James and don’t spread misinformation as l tried to reply to your reply but to no avail 🤷🏼♂️ If I could send you the act for drinking l would but no email in the description that I could see.
Not that bothered as you are mate. I did Google and all said 20. Not going to waste my time in Thai legal minutiae if can drink buy etc.. Basically If kids want to go out and party they need to have ID showing they're 20. In the video I was referring to the bar that had been closed down for selling to kids under 20. All the best.👍🍺🍺
Btw, I would kill to have that market near me. Tesco did for a while do Thai holy basil, and I would always get some, but not seen it in months. Oyster mushrooms, and king oyster mushrooms are expensive, and as for galangal, and other Thai ingredients, it would have to be specially ordered online. I've never seen a pea aubergine in the UK, even in the Thai restaurants. I would be in heaven there.
Motorcycles as well as cars and trucks use wrong way shortcuts all over Thailand. It's part of the driving culture that foreigners have to adjust to. It works for them.
How much is the "monthly allowance you give to Annie". My Thai secretary gives her son (studying robotic and computer engineering at university) 2,000 baht per week for living and she pays his accommodation I believe twice a year.
@@jamesabroad8589 Secretary's son has to pay his bills (electric and water) and petrol for his motorbike with his 2000 baht per week. She gives him extra money when he has to buy education books and tools for his engineering.
I would have said that a new Scooter ( Honda Click, Honda Scoopy, Honda Giorno) would have been more useful for Annie than a car at university. She should be able to carry her cooking ingredients on a scooter.
FYI that noisy bird is a cuckoo.. very annoying sound indeed. Your daughter seems very switched on.you must be proud parents. My wife always brings back spices and sauces etc to the UK and sells them online..they go very quickly.
My Thai daughter is only 13 , but because of the almost communist laws in Thailand , I'm bringing her out when she's 17 . Vietnam is far more built for a better class of foreigner . I will not have my daughter believing others are "lesser people" just because she was born into a nation , as well as a lack of history . I welcome all of the hysterical praise that foreigners use to defend their sub human lifestyles in Thailand, but at the end of the day , reality wins .
True. I've driven the swift and was knocked out with it. Annie is applying for her license so maybe some test drive videos in the future lol.👍🍺

I applaud Annie's business sense, and I can imagine that it is both rewarding and good experience. If I may offer a suggestion. Inherently, this business model is constrained in terms of the number of meals she can prepare, and the volume she can sell in any given week. If she were to to create cooking videos and put them on YT, IG, FB, Tik Tok, etc, her reach would be significant, and her English and Thai massively broadens her potential audience too. There is a lot of interest in Thai food worldwide. In the UK, as you might know, it has seen enormous growth in recent years. Monetisation at the low end, would be ads and revenue share (FB reels for example), but she could also use affiliate links to the likes of Amazon, and others, and even put together a recipe book, and sell physical and downloadable versions, and other merch. There are many other areas it could branch out to, but that's more than enough to begin with.
