Summary: Blues rockers the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band visited the Paste studio on Aug. 17 following the Aug. 4 release of their eighth record, Lay It On Down. Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Noah Hunt began their set with two tracks from the new album, "Down for Love" and "Hard Lesson Learned." Up next, the duo performed Slim Harpo's "I'm A King Bee," a staple of their setlist. Finally, they ended their set with one of their greatest hits, "Blue on Black" from 1997's Trouble Is...

Absolutley amazing! I have been listening to Kenny since 98 and have seen his in person about 6 times.. However, I don't remember him singing in the early days, he has a great voice.

Two really talented musicians right there, and people don't realize how hard you have to work to sing and play at the same time as Noah does, and the obvious skills of Kenny of course. Have to give a big shoutout to Paste..not only for bringing these to us..but also for the excellent work in capturing the sound so well, even though that space works well, getting it recorded so it sounds so good is a skill in itself, and so again Kudo's to all those involved in making that happen.

I can't stop playing "hard lesson learned" abso fucking lutely love that song. These guys are in my top 5 list as it stands today, (changes over time) with Joe Bonamassa, Albert Cummings, Jimmy Barnes and, as always the Allman Bros.
