This also works with a jar of vasoline. TP for a wick. Don't cut the lid. When you're done, put it out by covering it with the lid. The vasoline is stiff enough it will hold the wick upright

Use solid, white Crisco. Put wicks in it. That way you can unscrew the top, light wicks for light. When you're done, blow the wicks out, put the top back on. You're cute too

While olive oil is impractical, bacon grease is a good thing to make a candle out of on a camping trip. Dump the grease into an empty can and prop a paper towel in it. When the bacon fat solidifies the paper towel wick is propped up in there and it burns for a while.

Weird... I didn't see that at all. Personally I saw a responsible fire contained in a small jar with a wick that's unlikely to create those 'fly away embers'. I don't recommend sitting it down in dry leaves. But she did place it on a damp log. Now if you want to burn down a whole forest, all you'd need to do is create your fire on the ground while everything is fried out. Then leave it unattended. But so far? I haven't seen her give any of those instructions... 🤔 🤷🏼♀️

I didn't see that at all.
Personally I saw a responsible fire contained in a small jar with a wick that's unlikely to create those 'fly away embers'.
I don't recommend sitting it down in dry leaves. But she did place it on a damp log.
Now if you want to burn down a whole forest, all you'd need to do is create your fire on the ground while everything is fried out. Then leave it unattended.
But so far? I haven't seen her give any of those instructions... 🤔 🤷🏼♀️

Моя бабушка и мама в случае отключения электроэнергии тоже пользовались таким приспосблением. Только фитилек делали из ваты, плотно скручивая ее в жгутик.
