It never happened bcuz he was too powerful to be allowed to be at full power to begin with he’s the one that on his own in his own power he almost destroyed ALL the gods elder gods normal gods all of them in his own no kamidogu like Onaga just his own power. His power was sealed away for a reason because he’s too strong to be allowed to live and be that powerful without destroying everyone and everything even the other villains like Onaga and shao Kahn feared him coming to power again and Onaga himself was shinnoks servant before. Mk onslaught literallly tells you in detail the same story that has been known to anyone that PAYS ATTENTION. Shinnok had his elder god power stripped and sealed away within his amulet long ago and he regains his elder god power when he has possession of the amulet. The amulet was both created and powered by Shinnok himself. Why do you think he is holding the amulet in a way that it is powering him? Shang Tsung and quan chi stole his power and became elder gods using shinnoks own power and he just used his amulet to regain his power from them….Im not sure how else to tell you that Shinnok powered the amulet and created it and used it to take back his own power the sorcerers stole they literally even say” we may have lost your power but kept your immortality” they were immortal when they became elder gods but lost shinnoks power and stayed immortal. The amulet of shinnok itself is nothing without Shinnoks full elder god powers stored within it. Dark raiden literally had shinnoks own power against him in mk11 he had his amulet which contai a his elder god power. Normally raiden cannot hurt shinnok. Even as a fallen elder god he already destroyed raiden twice in mkx without even trying Raiden used shinnoks power against him when he was dark raiden it’s why he was able to do what he did in mk11 intro and he was basically elder god raiden a lot stronger than the dark raiden that was in deception

A lot of fans didn’t get into the series or prly weren’t even born when shinnok was new. Anyone who played the entire mythologies game where shinnok debuted understands that shinnoks full elder god power was stripped away and shinnok created the amulet but the elder gods sealed away his power within his own amulet so that was their way of weakening him by separating his power from himself into the sacred metal shinnok created. Ppl think the amulet powers shinnok,the amulet does power shinnok it restores him to his original fulll power but ONLY because it was shinnoks power that powered the amulet in the first place. Literally itis just shinnoks elder god power that fuels the amulet. The amulet itself is worthless without shinnoks elder tod power sealed away. Others can tap into shinnnoks power to a degree and get some boost Onaga shao Kahn deadly alliance raiden but only shinnok can fully tap into its power bcuz it is HIS OWN power sealed away. The amulet which contained shinnoks power was mostly in deadly alliances possession but I think a fraction of it still remained in the amulet and shinnok used what little power it still had to STRIP THEM of HIS power and return it to the amulet and shinnok tapped into that same power that was always his once again being the one true elder god. I think a lot of ppl do not really pay attention and think this guy is Weak when he’s literally the strongest villain naturally. I say naturally as in he in his own power is stronger than Onaga shao Kahn deadly alliance. Onaga already feared shinnok and was his slave before Deadlt alliance with shinnoks power were able to enslave shao Kahn and sindel earlier which makes sense that shinnok can do it too as it’s his power and if he can do that to shao Kahn making him nothing to him it shows how powerful this guy is when he enslaved Onaga and indirectly (through deadly alliance using shinnoks power) enslaved shao Kahn.
Shinnok was an elder god that nearly destroyed ALL elder gods and ALL normal gods in a long war ALL the gods combined barely defeated shinnok so he lost but barely he wasn’t far from victory Shinnok wanted to destroy all the gods and all the realms He had his power stripped and embedded in his amulet which is why he always has it at hand He created the amulet himself and his own elder god power that was stripped of his body is now within the amulet. This is why others want it badly it contains shinnoks elder god power which is more than most can stand. When returned to him he regains his power. In mk4 which he was supposed to have had the realm amulet and win he lost to Liu kang bcuz he had a fake amulet so he remained much weaker than he should’ve and Liu kang was allowed a victory otherwise it was said shinnok would’ve washed Liu kang and everyone else winning mk4 had he retained the real amulet. Quan chi had the real amulet so he did get a power boost But it is shinnoks own power locked away so no one can truly access its full power besides shinnok himself as it is his massive power trapped sealed away. It is why shinnok was defeated in mk4,it is why quan chi and Shang Tsung got together and revived the dragon king army Onaga returned with the power of the kamidogu which made him far more powerful than he himself was so Onaga was powered beyond his normal means He defeat the deadly alliance Shujinko later defeats Onaga Onagas soul is sent to the netherrealm where he finds shinnok and shinnok offers him to restore his throne if Onaga agrees to being his servant. He agrees but Onaga doesn’t intend on allowing shinnok to restore his power Onaga admitted he would be dead along with his everyone else if shinnok restores his power So Onaga did serve Shinnok Ppl say it’s only to be freed of the netherrealm but Onaga isn’t the type to serve anyone he would defeat you if he could He didn’t challenge Shinnok rather he feared him enough to not challenge him…this was fallen elder god shinnok but ppl forget Onaga was also much weaker bcuz he didn’t have the kamidogu which made him much stronger than he is himself. Deception introduces Onaga with the power of the kamidogu. Without it he’s not that strong. Onaga int need on killing shao Kahn and then blaze to take his power and ONLY THEN he said he would go after Shinnok… None of that happened bcuz he was still slightly weaker than shao Kahn and he killed Onaga so Onaga never killed Kahn or blaze or Shinnok. Onaga had plans for revenge against Kahn his old servant and then taking blazes power in order to overpower Shinnok but none of that happened. Shinnok is naturally stronger than all other villains BY ALOT but Shinnok was introduced having been severely weakened as it was meanwhile Onaga was introduced being severely empowered by kamidogu Kamidogu isn’t onagas own power it’s borrowed power Without them he’s still shao Kahn level but not the same. Shinnok was a fallen elder god all the games until now. The deadly alliance already said they feared facing a fallen elder god shinnok and can’t beat him…they avoided fighting him and wouldn’t have won anyway even as a fallen elder god. They attempted to steal Shinnoks long lost power which was sealed in his amulet and amulet split into smaller relics and they stole the power of the relics but I guess shinnok managed to make his amulet whole and while it didn’t have his bulk for power as they stole it here,it was enough to strip them of the power that once belonged to shinnnok and that’s why they fell to the floor back to their originally deception selves not elder gods anymore and shinnnok now regained his power they stole from him. He returned it to the amulet then tapped into it which is what you see happening here. It is why he said he’s waited so very long to restore his power
This reminds me of Onaga vas raiden quan chi Shang tsung in deception the only difference is Onaga had the kamidogu He probably would’ve defeated them anyway but he wouldn’t have been tanking their blasts and take damage. He only Tanked their blasts bcuz of the kamidogu that makes one so much stronger than they themselves are. Here shinnok doesn’t rely on kamidogu he is in his own power at full strength and these guys don’t stand a chance but to anyone aware of shinnoks history they would know they don’t stand a chance against him even as a fallen elder god anyway. If ppl see the cutscenes in onslaught deadly alliance literally are scared of Shinnok and to directly battle with him even as a fallen elder god they have no chance and they needdd to become elder gods themselves to face him and they only did so by steaking shinnoks long lost power which was shown here he stripped them of and reclaimed it in his amulet which he immediately transfers it back to his self restoring his elder god power. This holds a lot more weight than when shao Kahn said I am the elder god in mk9 we all knew it was for hype but here we’ve waited since 1996 1997 in his debut game to restore his power…we waited 30 years for this guy to finally Have his full power restored…literally the only thing that kept them alive from That blast that would’ve more than killed this thst by having stolen shinnoks power ,apparently they still retained his immortality even after stripping them of his power. If not for shinnoks immortality keeping them alive they would’ve been obliterated. The fallen elder god was stated to be much stronger than they are and full power elder gods shinnok here is much stronger than he previously was so yeah the only thing that’s kept them alive is shinnoks own immortality. So even here the deadly alliance is much More potent than the one that faced Onaga this one is immortal. And before this they were elder gods far more powerful than normal deadly alliance. Finally nice to see Shinnok belittle Shang Tsung as if he sindel quan chi shao Kahn are nothing to him. Offscreen Shinnok made Onaga fear him and then enslaved him…that alone speaks to shinnoks power. That wasn’t even his greatest achievement to enslave Onaga He almost destroyed all the elder gods which is a bigger thing but also aided in the one beings defeat.
The problem Shinnok always had in every earlier installment is getting overshadowed by Quan-Chi. Shinnok is just the final boss that rarely shows up and his presence isn't imposing like Kahns, while Quan-Chi being in forefront getting most of the screentime and looking much cooler.
I think that’s what makes him great because why would you want the main villain to show up so early so soon. Shao Kahn himself was a villain that showed up in mk2. The events of mk1 and the entire game and even Shang Tsung as a boss were just preludes to shao Kahn who was the previous bosses master and the boss of bosses at the time in mk2 and mk3. Shang Tsung was and is a boss but he was not the grand true boss of the series bcuz even in original mk1 it’s later revealed shao Kahn was in charge and Shang Tsung was just taking orders himself. My point is even shao Kahn was not revealed immediately it took the entire mk1 original game to happen then come mk2 it’s revealed shao Kahn is the true master and boss of the grander story despite being absent in the events of original mk1 he was the reason why Shang Tsung and goro were around in the first place. As far as shinnok goes it’s a buildup with quan chi being the Shang Tsung of mk4 and mythologies being revealed first and then the grand boss above shinnok is introduced and quan chi is a boss in mythologies and plays the acting role of main enemy of the story at the start of it until it’s revealed by him later that shinnok is really pulling the strings. He has a great buildup and he should and he was so powerful he was invincible in mythologies you can’t actually even damage him until he becomes a monster and gets angry now he is vulnerable and even then he can’t still kill you.the story of mk4 has it to where in the comics he makes a grand opening. Did you know shinnok did something no other character like Onaga shao Kahn Shang tsung quan chi and blaze have done? That is that Shinnok has survived and tanked stronger than the Big Bang that created the universe and yes this aswell as his comics of mk4 are canon and official to the story. He is extremely powerful more than anyone else but the problem is once he was weakened he lost most of his power and when he was introduced to us in mythologies subzero we thought he had all his power but he didn’t he was weakened and he was weakened in mk4 as welll the game most ppl were introduced to him. So he appeared to be very weak when in reality it’s bcuz he had most his power sealed away so he wasn’t introduced to us having been at full power or anywhere near that to begin with. This is why he comes off as a weaker villain bcuz he’s never been shown with the majority of his power that would put all other villains to shame but sense he’s so powerful the good guys and bad guys alike work to keep shinnok forever weakened so that he does not remain a threat to all.
Because he regained his power His eyes are not white they are red now demonic looking and black and red. His amulet is was also originally a ruby colored ruby not a green gem. They should’ve used this as the perfect opportunity to change it back to red to differentiate between an elder god shinnok and fallen one
Deadly alliance is smarter than Kahn and they DID outsmart him here too They temporarily outsmarted shinnok aswell but I see it as they won the battle against him but shinnok won the war. Once Shinnok regained his power it’s over for all of them…this is the Shinnok that EVERYONE good guys and villains all feared. Even quan chi Shang Tsung shao khan and even Onaga feared him Onaga was shinnoks servant before and Shinnok did not fear Onaga anymore than he does the deadly Alliance here It was Onaga who feared Shinnok. This in the events of the story immediately after onagas defeat with the kamidogu after shujinko put him down in deceptions final conclusion nightwolf had his soul sealed away in the netherrealm. Onaga was dead he woke up in the netherrealm and the evil fallen elder god shinnok confronted him. Shinnok has no fear of Onaga I think that’s obvious if he faced him in the first place. Onaga was the one who was fearing Shinnoks wrath…Shinnok promised to restore Onaga back to power in outworld to be emperor of outworld again rather than shao Kahn if Onaga helped him reclaim his amulet which restores shinnoks elder god power which was sealed away because he was too powerful. It’s been said many times before if shinnok restored his power it would be the end of everyone including Shao Kahn and Onaga they too would be completely powerless to stop him. It is why he wants his amulet back and his power returned to him. But yes Onaga feared Shinnok returning to power and even said if Shinnoks plans succeed I myself will be amongst the dead as well….He accepted servitude to escape the netherrealm and said he served no one! However Onaga like all of them have a giant ego and his reluctance to serve Shinnok to escape the netherrealm irrelevant. If Onaga was poweful enough to force him to release him he would have but it was clear Onaga had some respect and fear of Shinnok to not bother challenging him directly unless he had the kamidogu or blazes power. Onaga himself said he WOULD go after Shao Kahn as revenge which was later shown in Armageddon intro that scene was the result of Onagas bio where he planned to kill Kahn for revenge and then later kill blaze take blazes power and then go after Shinnok after attaining blazes power. It is very clear that he is flat out stating he can defeat shao Kahn and blaze but NOT Shinnok unless he had blazes power… Even then it’s questionable. Why? Bcuz he believed he could defeat shao Kahn and he failed to do so in Armageddon. Ppl can say what they want but they battled Onaga vs Kahn) and Kahn came back from that battle not Onaga. Shao Kahn once said I am the elder god himself in mk9 when raiden faced him but the difference is while shao Kahn was very powerful and could crush raiden as it was, th ere is a massive gap between normal gods like raiden and shinnok an elder god ans shao Kahn claiming to be the elder god at the tiime was more for hype and showing his power but he’s not a real elder this in nature or even in power ppl can say what they want but just bcuz all the elder gods killed shao Kahn in mk9 doesn’t speak to shao Kahn’s power it only spoke of their fear of his ignorant moves of merging realms would release the one being THAT IS what the elder gods feared and that is why they stepped in to help raiden they feared shao Kahn merging the realms would unleash the one being. They didn’t fear shao Kahn they feared the one being and that’s why rhey helped in shao Kahn’s quick demise to kill his quickly. That shao Kahn was that strong was impressive for HIS standards,but in the end Kahn could not scratch raiden and the elder gods,shinnok nearly destroyed the elder gods. And while he didn’t he was destroying cetrion and I think almost killed two others and he did so effortlessly in the onslaught trailer and comparing that to shao Kahn who couldn’t even scratch raiden and elder gods in mk9,it only shows how powerful shao Kahn was that it took them to defeat him but also the difference in shinnoks power and shao Kahn’s as shinnok almost put the gods down and Kahn couldn’t even harm them. So to me personally while shao Kahn used the phrase I am the elder god in mk9 and it was amazing I always even back then it was for hype (and it worked Kahn was hyped and a great villain in mk) but in the end we all knew the elder gods would still trash him. This is not non canon It was already confirmed this is just another timeline of events and is still canon to this timeline Just as the new mk1 timeline is canon to well mk1 story But even in mk1 there are other timelines and those events are canon within those timelines. This isn’t exactly the mk1 timeline it’s a branch off of mk11’s final chapter actually. Mkx shinnok was meant to succeed but he didn’t kronica stepped in as raiden has been meddling too much and he messed things up even further and this is basically after aftermath This WAS meant to be the aftermath expansion of mk11 but bcuz Covid the games dlc story part 2 was cancelled which these scenes were already made but they quit the game and started in mk1 instead. This is fully canon my friend. It is just canon to its own timeline of events but that doesn’t make it non canon. Mk9-11 are a separate timeline from the original mk1-7 but that doesn’t make it non canon now does it? Mk9 started a new timeline Which ended in mk11’s conclusion But this was actually supposed to be the true second part after aftermath but again it was cancelled so they made it into a monile game THAT is exactly what this story mode is. Kronica and her introduction to as made to undo time where shinnok actually wins which he was supposed to win the original Armageddon then in mkx but raidens meddling made it to where not even shao Kahn won in the sense that the timeline remained or it did but raiden made a new one altering time and kronics became aware of this but it wasn’t until mkx’s conclusion stepped In she meant to revive shinnok by reversing the timelines Ina massive reset This was the story that was going to result but with Shang tsungs meddling in mk11 and aftermath it basically continued the part where kronica was around and then after Shang tsungs demise Shinnok was destined to return it was always the ultimate plot of mkx leading into mk11 with a new villain to eventually restore shinnok it didn’t exactly workout that way but he returns in a new timeline anyway. This is not non canon my friend it’s just not an official massive release like mkx was or mk1 is.

Shinnok was a fallen elder god all the games until now. The deadly alliance already said they feared facing a fallen elder god shinnok and can’t beat him…they avoided fighting him and wouldn’t have won anyway even as a fallen elder god. They attempted to steal Shinnoks long lost power which was sealed in his amulet and amulet split into smaller relics and they stole the power of the relics but I guess shinnok managed to make his amulet whole and while it didn’t have his bulk for power as they stole it here,it was enough to strip them of the power that once belonged to shinnnok and that’s why they fell to the floor back to their originally deception selves not elder gods anymore and shinnnok now regained his power they stole from him. He returned it to the amulet then tapped into it which is what you see happening here. It is why he said he’s waited so very long to restore his power

Finally nice to see Shinnok belittle Shang Tsung as if he sindel quan chi shao Kahn are nothing to him. Offscreen Shinnok made Onaga fear him and then enslaved him…that alone speaks to shinnoks power. That wasn’t even his greatest achievement to enslave Onaga
He almost destroyed all the elder gods which is a bigger thing but also aided in the one beings defeat.
The problem Shinnok always had in every earlier installment is getting overshadowed by Quan-Chi. Shinnok is just the final boss that rarely shows up and his presence isn't imposing like Kahns, while Quan-Chi being in forefront getting most of the screentime and looking much cooler.
I think that’s what makes him great because why would you want the main villain to show up so early so soon. Shao Kahn himself was a villain that showed up in mk2. The events of mk1 and the entire game and even Shang Tsung as a boss were just preludes to shao Kahn who was the previous bosses master and the boss of bosses at the time in mk2 and mk3. Shang Tsung was and is a boss but he was not the grand true boss of the series bcuz even in original mk1 it’s later revealed shao Kahn was in charge and Shang Tsung was just taking orders himself. My point is even shao Kahn was not revealed immediately it took the entire mk1 original game to happen then come mk2 it’s revealed shao Kahn is the true master and boss of the grander story despite being absent in the events of original mk1 he was the reason why Shang Tsung and goro were around in the first place. As far as shinnok goes it’s a buildup with quan chi being the Shang Tsung of mk4 and mythologies being revealed first and then the grand boss above shinnok is introduced and quan chi is a boss in mythologies and plays the acting role of main enemy of the story at the start of it until it’s revealed by him later that shinnok is really pulling the strings. He has a great buildup and he should and he was so powerful he was invincible in mythologies you can’t actually even damage him until he becomes a monster and gets angry now he is vulnerable and even then he can’t still kill you.the story of mk4 has it to where in the comics he makes a grand opening. Did you know shinnok did something no other character like Onaga shao Kahn Shang tsung quan chi and blaze have done? That is that Shinnok has survived and tanked stronger than the Big Bang that created the universe and yes this aswell as his comics of mk4 are canon and official to the story. He is extremely powerful more than anyone else but the problem is once he was weakened he lost most of his power and when he was introduced to us in mythologies subzero we thought he had all his power but he didn’t he was weakened and he was weakened in mk4 as welll the game most ppl were introduced to him. So he appeared to be very weak when in reality it’s bcuz he had most his power sealed away so he wasn’t introduced to us having been at full power or anywhere near that to begin with. This is why he comes off as a weaker villain bcuz he’s never been shown with the majority of his power that would put all other villains to shame but sense he’s so powerful the good guys and bad guys alike work to keep shinnok forever weakened so that he does not remain a threat to all.

This in the events of the story immediately after onagas defeat with the kamidogu after shujinko put him down in deceptions final conclusion nightwolf had his soul sealed away in the netherrealm.
Onaga was dead he woke up in the netherrealm and the evil fallen elder god shinnok confronted him. Shinnok has no fear of Onaga I think that’s obvious if he faced him in the first place. Onaga was the one who was fearing Shinnoks wrath…Shinnok promised to restore Onaga back to power in outworld to be emperor of outworld again rather than shao Kahn if Onaga helped him reclaim his amulet which restores shinnoks elder god power which was sealed away because he was too powerful. It’s been said many times before if shinnok restored his power it would be the end of everyone including Shao Kahn and Onaga they too would be completely powerless to stop him. It is why he wants his amulet back and his power returned to him.
But yes Onaga feared Shinnok returning to power and even said if Shinnoks plans succeed I myself will be amongst the dead as well….He accepted servitude to escape the netherrealm and said he served no one! However Onaga like all of them have a giant ego and his reluctance to serve Shinnok to escape the netherrealm irrelevant. If Onaga was poweful enough to force him to release him he would have but it was clear Onaga had some respect and fear of Shinnok to not bother challenging him directly unless he had the kamidogu or blazes power. Onaga himself said he WOULD go after Shao Kahn as revenge which was later shown in Armageddon intro that scene was the result of Onagas bio where he planned to kill Kahn for revenge and then later kill blaze take blazes power and then go after Shinnok after attaining blazes power. It is very clear that he is flat out stating he can defeat shao Kahn and blaze but NOT Shinnok unless he had blazes power…
Even then it’s questionable. Why? Bcuz he believed he could defeat shao Kahn and he failed to do so in Armageddon. Ppl can say what they want but they battled Onaga vs Kahn) and Kahn came back from that battle not Onaga. Kahn reached the top of the pyramid not Onaga . I think it’s clear Kahn was at the time the strongest and Onaga at the time was the weakest of the 3. Why? Kahn has surpassed his master after his orignal death and Onaga only surpassed him again after he had the kamidogu and once he lost them well he became weaker than Kahn again. Shao Kahn once said I am the elder god himself in mk9 when raiden faced him but the difference is while shao Kahn was very powerful and could crush raiden as it was, th ere is a massive gap between normal gods like raiden and shinnok an elder god ans shao Kahn claiming to be the elder god at the tiime was more for hype and showing his power but he’s not a real elder this in nature or even in power ppl can say what they want but just bcuz all the elder gods killed shao Kahn in mk9 doesn’t speak to shao Kahn’s power it only spoke of their fear of his ignorant moves of merging realms would release the one being THAT IS what the elder gods feared and that is why they stepped in to help raiden they feared shao Kahn merging the realms would unleash the one being. That shao Kahn was that strong was impressive for HIS standards,but in the end Kahn could not scratch raiden and the elder gods,shinnok nearly destroyed the elder gods. And while he didn’t he was destroying cetrion and I think almost killed two others and he did so effortlessly in the onslaught trailer and comparing that to shao Kahn who couldn’t even scratch raiden and elder gods in mk9,it only shows how powerful shao Kahn was that it took them to defeat him but also the difference in shinnoks power and shao Kahn’s as shinnok almost put the gods down and Kahn couldn’t even harm them. This isn’t exactly the mk1 timeline it’s a branch off of mk11’s final chapter actually. Mkx shinnok was meant to succeed but he didn’t kronica stepped in as raiden has been meddling too much and he messed things up even further and this is basically after aftermath
This WAS meant to be the aftermath expansion of mk11 but bcuz Covid the games dlc story part 2 was cancelled which these scenes were already made but they quit the game and started in mk1 instead. This is fully canon my friend. It is just canon to its own timeline of events but that doesn’t make it non canon. Mk9-11 are a separate timeline from the original mk1-7 but that doesn’t make it non canon now does it? Mk9 started a new timeline

The amulet of shinnok is just a vassal that contains his full elder god power that was sealed away long ago and this is why he says I have waited so very long because he finally has it. Shang tsung and quan chi stole shinnoks elder god power before he could get it back himself this is why they look different and floating they are literally elder gods themselves but bcuz shinnoks amulet was powered by his
Own power,he’s still able to use it as a weapon as at least a fraction of shinnoks elder god power is sealed within his amulet even after Shang tsung quan chi stole his power he still was able to use it in order to strip them of power that was shinnoks to Begin with. He doesn’t need to be a full elder god he is still far above them as it is it’s just when they stole his power where they were elder god level and surpassed him bcuz well he was fallen elder god but they needed his power to defeat shinnok. Just like Onaga needs the kamidogu to become that strong. Unlike shinnok where the amulet is powered by shinnoks own power,the kamidogu isn’t powered BY Onaga,he used the kamidogu to empower himself there is a difference
