      (Don't laugh) - one time I had just sliced some mini bread made with this method, and I had all these clay crumbles on my desk. I kind of absent-mindedly picked one up... and ate it ... before realising what I was doing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

      I paint it with acrylic paints! I mostly use Decoart: amzn.to/3ZGGiNg but any brand should work 😊
      Also, I never personally tried to paint it with pastels before baking, but it might still work! If you give it a try, will you let me know how it works? I'm curious 🤓😍

    Hello simplyStella! Could you (or anyone else who's tried this) tell me if this technique (when done correctly) compromises the the durability of the Clay? I know it's probably strong enough for a dollhouse, where it's not getting touched too often, but I'm trying to make toast earrings. So I'm worried that especially when the bread is sliced it won't be strong enough to handle a lot of wear.... Please advise!!🙏

    • @SimplystellaTV
      @SimplystellaTV  Год назад +1

      Oh that's an interesting question! I've only ever made dollhouse minis with this technique, and years later they're still intact. However, the clay definitely feels a lot lighter once you add the baking powder/soda, and the thinner you slice it, the higher the chance it might crumble. Which makes me think it might not hold well if you're planning to touch it a lot, like you would do with earrings 🤔 UNLESS you add something to the "bread slice" to give it more strength. Like if you were to make a little sandwich and fill it with some "regular" polymer clay (sans baking powder), and ideally some liquid Fimo/Sculpey which is highly flexible... then, maybe, it would be sturdy enough to be used as earrings (I'm just theorising here, mind it!). Will you let me know if you try? I'm curious!

      @@SimplystellaTV Thank you so much!!
      That's just what I suspected. 🤔 I've actually already made a test loaf but I did it completely wrong! I wasn't very careful with measuring and I think i waited too long to bake, so it was very crumbly. That's what made me sort of nervous about it falling apart even when i eventually do it right. I fooled with a similar idea to the "sandwich" method. I thought maybe once I sliced the bread I could cover it in a few layers of resin and then spray it with a matte sealant to get some of that "bread" texture back. I just don't know if that would be enough reinforcement! (And I also don't have any resin, and I wanted to do this with stuff I already had😅) But I'm going to try it again😁 and if I can make it work I will definitely let you know how I did it!! Wish me luck!!🤞 Thank you again!!!

    Do you know, if it is durable? And there is not much time to sculp the bread...thats a pitty. Im curious, how it turns out... (its in the oven...)

    • @SimplystellaTV
      @SimplystellaTV  Год назад

      I'd say it's definitely quite durable! I started making mini bread this way a good 8-9ish years ago, and those earlier attempts are still in pristine condition! And yes, it pays to be quick, although we're talking minutes, not seconds, thankfully 😂
