I'll never forget Winston's wise words: "Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god you say YES!!!"
"We're all gods here."
And he listened.
Man we had the best childhood!
Yeah we did!!
@@Hodaris_Darlin Indeed he did!
One of Ernie's (Winston's) earliest lines from the first movie still relates to my life:
"If there's a steady paycheck in it, I'll believe in anything you say."
Hear Ya!, But if it were possible to entrap an Pke filled entity and freeze it or send it to another dimension (like the original script) . . but, would it be the perfect job, desstruction of private property (oh, it's job re-lated sir . . . I mean the chandelier was in the way, etc), smoking ( which I do) on the job, oh and break out the Cold Millers, Buds and or Heinekens . . But pass them around for a job well done, man I wish it was possible . . Or am I the only one . . 😎
I liked the callback to the tools/talent line that was in the post-credit scene.
😂
This is one of the best lines.
yeah I agree with that line
heck GB got rid of my Nightmares! 🤘
I can't believe that Ernie Hudson is 75! He hasn't changed very much, he looks great!!
Agreed I seen people in their 20's that look older than him 😅
@@scifiguy26 Lol!! I'm 45 and I look older!! Eeeeeep!!😬😬😬😬
@@shaunpenne1840 😅
@@scifiguy26 😊😊
His Black don't Crack! My man is looking good for 75. But I heard that he passed away some years back. But I guess that info was wrong. And I'm glad it was.💪
One of the coolest things I ever did was visit the actual Ghostbusters firehouse in New York and took pictures of me and my son out front standing in front of the Ghostbusters logo. The fact that it's an active working firehouse and all the guys who serve there have the Ghostbusters logo embroidered onto their uniforms is such an awesome piece of nostalgia. Definitely an experience to mark off my bucket list
I never been to NYC
I never been to NYC
I was just there too! It really is cool
Winston is the only Ghostbusters member who isn’t a scientist like his friends but had the old karate training skills and old flying school training that came a good use to helping bust ghosts like Gozer and Vigo.
true fan here ^
Actually he's got a PhD in either history or egyptology. He earned those in Ghostbusters: The Video Game, which at the moment was considered the unofficial 3rd movie.
What makes Winston is he is the average Joe, just like the rest of us, of the team... not a scientist, but a man with street smarts that is essential to the OG Ghostbusters, and now to the new Gen GBers. 👻😎
That's right Winston Zeddmore not a scientist.
@@julianprasaja2227 It made me really upset when they had the stupid Shandor scene in Afterlife. That one scene ruins the development and the cool character they made him into in the game and single-handedly negates any canonicity the game had.
That end was more touching than I would've thought...
Im not crying, you are crying!
My dad got misty eyed. The first time I’ve seen him do it during a movie since Coco
We all love Ecto.
damm he make me sad he's back to the old place After 39 years ...R.I.P EGON😔
You mean Harold
@@yourmother897 yeah👍
And don't forget Ivan Reitman, the director of the first two movies... RIP
@@McD5791 I won’t forget the news came out just when my family was celebrating the Super Bowl
That is LOVE…
We need the LA Firehouse restored by Sony Pictures ASAP. I know it's in a derelict part of LA but the interior is such an important part of Ghostbusters. Make it happen!!!!
Can they buy the building and move it to the Sony lot? I know it's a LOT of work, but could it even be done?
@@roseprevost8081 It can certainly be done. Many buildings have been dismantled brick-by-brick and moved long distances, then reassembled at the new site. 'Beamish Museum', near me in the NE of England, has been doing it with historic buildings since the early 1970s. Sony just needs to have the will, they've got the money.
@@kinsmansteve Hell they did it with that barn in afterlife.
@@roseprevost8081 If Abu Simbel in Egypt can be moved, the GB firehouse can be moved.
I know the set in New York is an actual working Firehouse and they had to close it down for a few weeks when they filmed the outside of it.
Made me tear up... I remember going to the theater and watching GB2 and now taking my son to watch afterlife... Crazy how fast life goes, and to enjoy those moments, as Mr Hudson said' it brings us together'
so few FAMILY films made, right???
But afterlife was SO bad!!!!!
More Ernie/ Winston in future films please he's awesome
hell yes
Just what the next movie needs
Hes the only one that wants to keep ghostbusters alive. Afterlife should have been it. Bill and Dan are the smart ones to check out while that train left the station
I just want a Ghostbusters movie that has ACTUAL Ghostbusters in it. I love seeing Winston again and hope to see him in action.
@@SilenceWillNotBeTolerated Honestly, Ghostbusters 2 probably should have been it after the last 2 disaster movies. I know Bill Murray had to have his arm twisted to even do the second one. Now that they're hell bent to profit from the franchise again, I just want to see the real Ghostbusters in action rather than little kids.
Not gonna lie this brought tears of joy and saddness to My eyes
The sight of Winston laying his hand on the Ecto-1, gently, reverently, gives me the warm-fuzzies.
Ernie is an absolute legend. I am so happy his character Winston is getting his time in the spotlight and spearheading the next generation of Ghostbusters! ✌️ ❤️
This is such a fantastic movie! This year has been fantastic for blockbusters.
Maybe the pandemic was a slight blessing in disguise in giving the crews more time to work on these films.
@@kurisu7885 no film is worth someone's life and destroying people's livelihood.
@@ScottWaa I think they meant that as an unexpected side effect. It happened the way it did, not like it can be undone.
2021 was a bit of a mixed bag in my book.
There’s not been a fantastic year for movies in many many years.
Enough said! Happy GB day to ALL!!!
I loved one of Winston's last lines in the film (to me, I consider it the last line in the movie) Winston " l love this town!!! hahaha" perfect Mr. Hudson, freaking Awesome .. 😎
Ghostbusters 2 the ghost train was Winston funniest part. Afterlife is a great movie and an amazing revival with great characters. Phoebe is probably the reason why it was so good and I hope she uses her grandfather iconic last name. I can’t wait to see her and the new crew in action on their next movie.
The characters name is Phoebe Spangler
Paul Rudd steals the show for me
Yeah she was OK. Everyone is over exaggerating her performance in the mediocre 3rd film. When you review it without rose tinted glasses, it's kind of a boring, dumb plot contrivance movie.
This movie was my childhood I was a ghostbuster for 5 years in a row for Halloween
Well, keep going then.😎👍
I'm still a gb on Halloween and I'm 37 lol
Ernie is such an underrated actor, just watch him playing Winston or in The Hand That Rocks The Cradle (brilliant film) and his reaction in Afterlife when he spots Egon's ghost 😂. Seems like a really nice genuine fella too
Winston has slowly become my favourite ghostbusters.
Is this a sign to the next Ghostbusters movie after Ghostbusters: Afterlife? =D
Thats what I was wondering. Remember the part where he was talking to Ecto in Afterlife saying that hes going to fix her up?
Yes, they already announced a sequel with the working title "Firehouse" on Ghostbusters day
It's been confirmed in the last few days, there will be a sequel to Afterlife, plus they're working on an animated project. I believe its an animated series for Netflix
Yep, already announced.
@@koryandrews1665 - No animated series will ever be ANYWHERE near as good as "The REAL Ghostbusters" series from the 80s..............
Ernie Hudson will always be Winston. He is one of the more hard working actors out there with a wide filmography. To his dying day and beyond, Ghostbusters will be what he is remembered most for. Met him at a convention. Nice guy. Newest project he has coming up is the continuation of Quantum Leap.
For me, it's gotta' be "Ghostbusters" and "The Crow".
Absolutely loved his performances in both movies.
The man is a humble and hardworking actor.
I was so young when my grandfather brought me to see Ghostbusters in 1984 I couldn't sing the song right, now here I am bringing my son to see firehouse!! Couldn't be more excited!!!
That felt really good, and brought me back. thanks Ernie.. I got chills when I seen the containment light flashing. I, WE miss you Harold.
Happy Ghostbusters Day!
In Brooklyn, right down the street from where my uncle used to live, there was a firehouse fully decked out in ghostbusters. I never knew if it was the same one used in the originalt film. They even had the siren they would play for my brother and me if we ever came around and the firefighters were present. It was awesome! One of my fave things.
One of the very few things wrong with the movie was that the firehouse scene didn't jive with Ray's comment that it was a Starbucks. It was obviously still abandoned and had never been a coffee shop when we see it. Probably just a case of the dialogue existing before the firehouse scene was added, but it kinda sticks out for me. I love the firehouse scene, so I just choose to ignore the Starbucks comment (maybe it was just Ray being a sarcastic old grump?).
Yeah, was a little thrown by that, myself. But I really enjoyed the movie, so I just blew it off as a script-writing error or something that didn't get caught in time.
or what youre watching is part of the next movie because the echo returns to the firehouse after ernie brings it back home, also he was rich at this point and could have bought back the fire house to make it a ghostbuster headquarters for peters franchise scheme.
@ryan no it was just a goof. I imagine they forgot he said it when they added this scene
@@snarkdragon I just imagined that it had been bought for the purpose of turning it into a Starbucks, but that had failed for some reason even before the renovations needed to change it into a coffee shop had started, and Ray had not wanted to keep up with whatever was happening with the place so all he knew about was that it had been bought and the intention had been to make it into one. So he just assumed that that was what had happened.
You know, I really liked how Ghostbusters Afterlife treated Ernie's character. Very positive and inspiring!
Ernie said a lot in his interviews that this movie is very generational, and he was right. I’m proud to be a Ghostbusters Fan 🚫🚫👻👻
The tribute to Harold was done with more class than I ever thought seeing the movie the first 10x. But the end had hopes for another like the first two and forth. Nothing.. nothing is as good as the original. That goes for characters too.
I am so excited about this new journey! This is exactly where I was hoping the new movies were going with that end scene. Winston guiding and training a new generation of Ghostbusters is exactly what should happen!
I never felt so hyped for the future of Ghostbusters
Man I'm itching for the new sequel set in New York with Ernie Hudson as the head of the company.
When movies were fun…Still a looker Mr. Ernie Hudson!!! ❤
The question is: why was the containment still on when someone else bought the firehouse from under them? Was there a clause like "never turn this off!"?
The fine print will always get ya!, . . 😎
Maybe the firehouse was just closed after the Ghostbusters moved out, and Ray just said "there is a Starbuck in it" as a joke. :P Egon already claimed the building was in a bad shape in part one, so why would anyone else want it (especialy if people know it was a building where ghosts were).
So now Winston bought it again to fix it up and start a Ghostbusters franchise, so we can have future films in other cities to see stories of the franchises. :)
I just wanna know why it hadn't been getting maintained over the years.
That's like buying a house and there's always a light switch that doesn't seem to do anything.
Don't shut it off. I'm warning you.
Ernie Hudson Winston best Very good actor
I work in that building, we are doing a full remodel tearing down everything in the building and creating a museum. It’s crazy to see the inside of the building like this because it looks totally different now everything is gutted
I am so glad that Ernie Hudson is involved, the man has aged quite well. Went from being a guy who was a surrogate for us the audience and needed a paycheck to becoming an important component of the ghostbusters to a savy businessman who has been extremely successful. I am happy for his character and can't wait to see him and the young cast again in the afterlife sequel.
Such an amazing moment. Happy Ghostbusters Day!
Wait, they used the ACTUAL original firehouse for this?! They didn't build a replica set? Holy crap, it's good to see the original set in use again!
I love Ghostbusters. It’s my favorite movie. I’ve been watching it since I was like 6 years old. I’m 18 now. I can quote the entire movie by heart. The best thing Bill Murray said was “Back off pal I’m a scientist” in 1984. I wish movies where still like those. Nowadays the are action packed but they’re good but not as good as the old ones like Back to The Future.
"Yes, it's true. This man has no dick."
"... Well that's what I heard!"
Ernie is such the man. Loved him in Congo so much too. He actually sent me a video a few months back and it made my entire life.
Looking forward to Corin Nemec joining the cast of Ghostbusters 4. He's a good actor and will make an awesome Ghostbuster. 👍
@@MOTUHe-Man It's not Naquadah its Naquadria.
Besides Egon's spirit, Ernie Hudson's scenes were the best parts of Afterlife.
Winston (being a working man just looking for a job) was always my favorite Ghostbuster.
It's good to see good 'ol Ernie Hudson again.
I had this dude's Action figure. Man, I miss my Mother! She always bought me toys even though we were poor, and she never missed a Christmas. Love you Mom!!!
Now I just feel older after seeing this. And I can't be the only one that feels the same.
I can't wait to see the firehouse fixed up and hopefully once finished they can preserve it.
This movie was a "DREAM COMES TRUE". I love you Ghostbusters. 3 masterpieces across my life in Cinemas that changed forever.
We need Ernie to have a bigger role in next one!
Like how he explain how being a ghostbuster gave him courage/strength. I want to know who is still in the containment unit.
Slimer.
All Hail Ernie Hudson man I love this guy and his team 💪🏿 coolest brother we should all hear more from. I wish they bring that 80s cartoon back or add parts of that to the movies like the different color suits or a prequel to how they all became Ghostbusters there own personal experiences to lead to becoming ghost busters as a new young cast. Plus keep doing afterlife that was fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒
Thank God they got Jason Reitman. Stellar job.
Welcome home Winston, great to see you back where you belong. And how long has the storage facility been blinking like that?
It blew my mind the first time I heard that the interior and exterior of the firehouse were filmed in locations on opposite coasts. It’s seamless. The magic of editing, I guess.
Wow, I don't know why I thought that I heard that Ernie Hudson had passed away. I could have sworn that I heard that about 5 years ago. Well I'm glad that I was wrong. Because Erine was one of my favorites growing up. Glad to see him.
My favorite ghostbuster. The guy that showed anyone can be a ghostbuster, not just nerdy or geeky guys.
Afterlife deserves a sequel!!!! In NYC!!!
"I don't remember this job hurting so much"

I pray we get another Ghostbusters film being a sequel trilogy! Have everyone form Afterlife come back as well as the OGs from the first two and set up a saga!
I have good news for you, there WILL BE another Ghostbusters Movie.
Probably bring some from Extreme Ghostbusters as well.
@@julianprasaja2227 YES!!!
It’s been confirmed, the working title is Firehouse
All depends on if Bill Murray would be interested,Danny over the years had sent Bill screenplay after screenplay but he kept trashing them,I think he did Afterlife as a favor after Harold passed away. But,who knows maybe Bill has embraced the the fact that Ghostbusters is what truly made him a big star
Thank you for giving us something to enjoy, experience, and cherish with our children! Looking forward to the future for this incredible IP.
I never felt so hyped for the legacy of GB. I discovered the 80’s originals when I was 15. I’m 29 now

So excited for Part 2!!!!
Ernie Hudson Is the Epitome of Style and Cool.
Such a classic
This man is 76, Ernie, I mean how great does he look
Ernie Hudson looks awesome. But I wish Rick Moranis had surprise cameo in the end credit scene with him entering the old firehouse of the original Ghostbuster.
That would have made the movie more awesome
Certainly, I missed Rick Moranis so much. Besides If their gonna make another sequel after Ghostbusters Afterlife, then he can be in It.
@@georgestavros4178 Well he’s already coming out of semi retirement for a Honey I Shrunk the Kids reboot for Disney Plus. But I believe it was delayed due to COVID
*YEEEEAAAAAAH!!*
That stinger scene would have been the perfect place for a Slimer cameo. Especially if there was a nonverbal exchange between them leading Winston to reluctantly finally officially accepting him as the firehouse mascot, or "resident ghost".
I got goosebumps from that scene!!! Can't wait
It would make so much sense that the guy that Ghostbusters hired to be the 4th set of hands on the job to become the new mentor for the new generation.
Ghostbusters will always be one of my all time favorites that always brings me joy even hearing the theme song. I wish the original gang made one or two more sequels back in 90s or 2000s before Harold Ramis' death, got some new members and passed the torch to a new generation of comedians properly. I believe this IP has an incredible potential that never used as good as it should beyond Ghostbusters 2 and instead depended on the original movie's nostalgia too much.
That was the whole point of Afterlife, a thank you to the fans while also starting a new path forwards. That had to anchor it to the first two somehow and Gozer was the best way as it is a God and can’t be killed only slowed down.
@@andrewft31 I wish the original gang passed the torch not to the kids, but a new generation of comedians. I thought Paul Rudd is a brillant casting as a new Ghostbuster, but it was a let down to see him repeating Rick Moranis' role instead. Also Gozer story repeated too much and lots of creative ways to move the IP forward. That's why I found Afterlife too much nostalgic for my taste.
Thank you Sony for fixing this franchise! It's my hope that the other studios figure things out and do the same with their franchises. You keep making content as good as Afterlife and you have my money.
No thank Jason Reitman
