When this show was aired in March of 1978, it was seen on Los Angeles TV Station KHJ-TV Channel 9 at 7:30 pm, right after "Bowling For Dollars", the LA/Orange County Version starring Chick Hearn.
Daniel Westfall Yes, the still "Jeopardy!" announcer also announced for some episodes of "Tic Tac Dough." The late Charlie O'Donnell, longtime "Wheel of Fortune" announcer, later on became announcer for both shows. It's ironic because in most markets, before you had the "Jeopardy!"/"Wheel of Fortune" power hour, you had the "Tic Tac Dough", "The Joker's Wild" power hour. Coincidentally, at various times, both men, along with O'Donnell's successor and predecessor, the late Jack Clark (O'Donnell came back to WoF shortly after Clark's death), also announced on "The (New)$25,000/$100,000 Pyramid."
True, this mic has been in use by a ton of hosts, like Bob Barker, Bob Eubanks on Trivia Trap, WInk Martindale, and Jim Caldwell in Tic Tac Dough, etc.
Put the spinning of the "wheels" in slow motion (I did this on a VCR) and it can be seen that there is only one devil in one of the three windows in the bonus round. So why does Jack Barry at times say there's "money and devilS"??
I did the same thing, and I'm pretty sure I saw two devils on one of the wheels (but only on one wheel -- I assume they switch the wheels around for every round.)
if it was on all three wheels, the following would be an interesting scenario: Spin the wheels, player gets the devil in a triple. Which rule would apply? Lose everything you got or an automatic win with the triple?
(Spoiler Warning!) I just noticed, the first two times the Devil appeared, the other two screens had matching cash amounts. The Devil blocked TWO Natural Triples in a row!
Maybe when email BUZZER TV to have them to put on The Jokers Wild, maybe you would have them do a devil vs. whammy as they do Press Your Luck, and The Jokers Wild.
While I do prefer the Hidey music package (those are the first episodes I remember from childhood), it's good to see more episodes from the first season.
I don't believe so. There was probably just one devil within the three wheels (that is, just one devil overall, not one devil in each of the three wheels).

This is a frickin amazing copy. It's crisper and clearer than some current shows on nowadays.
I enjoy these jokers wild episodes
"Isn't that cozy?...Isn't that nice!"
Labor unions as a game show category? I wonder how many people would know about that subject today.
R.I.P. Jack Barry, Bill Cullen
Born Jack Barasch and William Lawrence Cullen, respectively.
1978 marked the 20th anniversary of the quiz show scandals. Glad he was passed that by this time.
I didn't realize Johnny Gilbert was announcer for some of the episodes.

3 bonus games in one episode. Only when Jack Barry's the host and not Bill Cullen.
Bob Barker used it throughout his career in the price is right.
In Syracuse, this aired at 7pm on WNYS ABC-9 before becoming WIXT in '78
Houston, TX aired it at 22:00 on KDOG before becoming KRIV two months later. Fox 26.
It's great to hear the legendary voice of "Jeopardy!" himself, Johnny Gilbert announcing "The Joker's Wild".
I didn't know he used to announce on this show until I watched this episode.
Oh that cheeky old Devil!
Road signs is a visual category.
@johnissoevil This is actually season 1 of the Syndicated version. There was a CBS version from 72-77
CBS version was 1972-1975. New shows in syndication in 1977-1986.

That Devil looks like Jack Berry in the face.
rodney1279 I'm glad that everyone is seeing that.
Jack was one in the 50's.
As I understand it, that was on purpose.
@@pem1974 It was
@hdayejr The CBS Daytime TJW lasted from 1972-75; the syndie edition debuted in 1977. 8^B
Jack's hand-held mike is the same that Gene Rayburn used.

NOBODY caught a break in this game! :^(

The Devil blocked TWO Natural Triples in a row!
That Devil during the 1977-78 season had more of an edge and again during the 1985-86 season with Bill Cullen
The Devils in the bonus game were on ONLY one of the reels.
I wonder if it was ever possible to get three devils?
9:30 What? That nasty ol' devil again!!!!!
2:57 That nasty old devil comes along and no trips,no prize, and no $1,000.
Robert Henshaw he is rotten
Johnny Gilbert on the microphone.
When I was a tyke I used to call this show "Devil, Devil, Devil"
Wish you didn't say that word.
@johnissoevil the CBS version ended in 1975 not 1977
Sandy reminds me of Sandy Duncan
Lose everything, because if even one devil shows up, you lose.
19:36 is that John Malkovich?
13:16 barbara streisand 1978 lol
But, how do I get ride of dust???
Maybe when email BUZZER TV to have them to put on The Jokers Wild, maybe you would have them do a devil vs. whammy as they do Press Your Luck, and The Jokers Wild.
And Tic tac dough
1. It’s BUZZR.
2. THEY DON’T OWN THE RIGHTS FOR GOD SAKES. IF YOU THINK AN EMAIL IS GONNA CHANGE THAT, DO IT YOURSELF!
@AarHan3 Why?
While I do prefer the Hidey music package (those are the first episodes I remember from childhood), it's good to see more episodes from the first season.
This episode was DISMAL, mainly because of the devils!
Or as Mr. Stubborn would say: "This episode is CHEAP!"
@hdayejr You know what I meant, Harvey.
Hate that Devil!
Paul LaRue he is a rotten old bastard
Yeah. Good I go to church.
what he need a wizard
I don't believe so. There was probably just one devil within the three wheels (that is, just one devil overall, not one devil in each of the three wheels).
If my math is correct Jessie Running only won money against the devil once taking $750. Am I correct on that?
3 devils in a row smh
As a native Oregonian, I cringed at the mispronunciations of "Oregon" and "Kah-Nee-Tah"!
Can someone please get Rick some Selsun Blue?
Jack Barry shouldn't have said that.
7pm wor-tv9
Sandy was cute. She reminds me of an ex GF,
